"I'm not going down there" Gary crosses his arms as I press the button anyway. Rose holding onto Gary's sleeve
Just as he said that the floor sinks and we are in. I give him an unamused expression
"How can I-" one of the workers appears out of no where
"JEEZ!!" Gary exclaims turning around and Y/N simply freezes in place jumping to my side to avoid the stranger standing near Gary
"...help?" They finish their sentence
"You got me" Gary laughs and Y/N relaxes with a sigh
"Are you a helper?" I ask, not wanting to waste anymore time
"Oh no-" they hiccup "I assist the helpers"
"So...you're a helper helper?" Y/N questions
"I will tell him you have...." they shiver "arrived" they say before disappearing through the wall
"Guy straight up ghosted through the wall" Gary says impressed
"He ghosted us" Y/N snickers and I roll my eyes at her lame attempt of a joke but can't hide the small smile on my lips
"Live with it" I finally say placing a hand on my hip
"I can't." Gary counters before going on again how he ghosted through the wall
I see Y/N jump with an "EEP" and grab a hold onto my torso. I freeze at the sudden contact
"How can I help?" One of the helpers finally appeared and I finally understand what scared her "we love to help" They continue as I bring her behind me
"Thanks. Uh..." Gary says before grabbing his bag "we need to find a safe place for my little buddy"
"Sorry, we're at capacity" the helper declines before Mooncake appears
Y/N POV
"But we can always squeeze in one more" they clear their throat. Weird
"Such a precious specimen" they say in attempt to pet Mooncake to which the little ball dodges
"OK is anyone gonna mention his odd creepy tone or..." I finally say as Mooncake hides behind Gary
"Mmhm- mmm" Gary nods in agreement "Can you say that just a little less creepy-like" Gary says to the helper in hopes he heard wrong recieving a (creepy) smile "ok guess not"
"Chookity?" Mooncake faces Gary as he called him
"No ones saying goodbye here..okay? Ill be back as soon as I can" Gary says, his face revealing a sad smile as he kneeled in front of the green ball and patted him "It's only temporary..I promise"
Promises huh..I never really did like promises. They are just words that hurt a bit more when broken. I feel a soft hand on my shouler and turn to see Avocato giving me a reassuring look. I must've been frowning for him to try comfort me- placing my hand on top of his, I smile up at him gently
"Gary..He'll be fine" Avocato finally speaks as Mooncake face hugs Gary a goodbye "he can take care of himself" he let's go of my shoulder to put his hand on Gary's shoulder instead and I find myself missing the warmth.
As we turned to walk away I didnt dare to look back until Gary turned
"By the way- I never got your name, Mister..." Gary trails
"Stevil" They reply with the same creepy tone as their hand reached for Mooncake
"WOAH" Both me and Gary exclaim
"Woah woah woah" I repeat in concern
"Pump the breaks" Gary says waving his hands
"The guy has evil in his name!" I point at him to which Gary agrees
"Im not handing Mooncake to a freaking guy named Stevil!" Gary crosses his arms
"Stevil is a bit alrming" Avocato finally says
"It is a bit alarming!" Both me and Gary reply
"We only want to help" Stevil says in defense to which I shake my head
"I'm out" I lift my hands in defense as I turn
"Avocato let's find another place, let's go" Gary follows before-
"STOP" Stevil grows in size
"Okay- This is full blown banshee screech alarming!" Gary states as we all back away
A giant eyeball engulfs Mooncake as Gary tried to reach him and we hear a
