*Meanwhile*

"Where the fuck are they?" Slash approached the rest of his band, a martini in one hand and the other stuffed in his pocket. "They should've been here half an hour ago."

Duff shared a worried look with him, while Izzy and Steven just kept on enjoying the drinks and snacks.

"Man don't worry... You know Axl, he's always late." Steven reassured him, while stuffing one appetiser after the other in his mouth. "We're lucky if he even shows up... Man you gotta try these shrimp thingies they're out of this world."

Slash pushed Steven's hand away, earning a death glare from his side, but it was quickly replaced by a big smile as he proceeded to stuff the appetiser in his mouth.

"Guys I don't know, yes I know he's often late, but he was so excited about the whole thing, why would he miss any of this? And (Y/N)'s with him, she's never late to begin with. I feel like something's off." Duff speculated, his eyebrows strickly knitted to one thick line as he too started to worry.

"Exactly-" Izzy started speaking, took a quick sip of his champagne and then continued. "(Y/N)'s with him, they've probably made up and are now making sweet sweet love in the backseat of the car and have completely forgotten about the Awards."

He took another long sip, licking his lips dramatically afterwards. The boys looked at him surprised, their eyes wide open in disbelief, but only Steven's expression showed signs of amusement as well.

"Yeah man, totally not jealous." The blonde joked while elbowing Izzy playfully.

"What? No I'm n-"

"Yeah yeah whatever." Slash interrupted their little fight. "I don't think that's why they're late. Axl wouldn't miss this for the world."

He let his free hand run through his locks, while he sighed deeply, the distress in his posture only hard to miss.

"I think you should call them, check if they're all right." Suggested Duff, already pulling Slash's mobile out of his pocket and handing it to him.
Slash took the phone and quickly dialed (Y/N)'s number, then brought the mobile up to his ear, stuffed under his wild mane of locks, and waited for someone to answer.

It rang once, it rang twice, no answer.

He exchanged a quick look with the boys, who were anxiously waiting for a reaction.

"Nothing."

"Just try again."

And again, the phone rang once, it rang twice, still no answer.

"Guys, what if something happened?" Steven questioned, his appetite now completely gone as he nervously stared at Slash.

"J-just try another time, maybe they just didn't hear it ring..." Izzy encouraged, trying his best to keep his calm, but it was obvious that he too, was slowly starting to worry more and more.

And so the phone rang again, it rang once, it rang twice...

~

You heard a ringing, a thundering noise, dull but still prominent enough to sting through your eardrums like a gunshot. Excruciating pain burned its way through your temples as you slowly regained consciousness. An unbearable pressure built up inside of your head, pounding against your ears and forehead just like the intense pressure you would feel when you're too deep underwater, your breath hitching in your throat and your vision becoming blurry. You felt your eyes slowly open, the first thing meeting your vision, the painfully bright light of the fire that had now spread to circle both cars. You felt the heat slap your skin, the cackling of the melting asphalt making your skin crawl, as you started to acknowledge your surroundings. You felt your skin sting with every breath you took, your chest felt tight, as if someone was brutally pushing down on your rilcage, crushing your bones with ease. Your face was pressed against a hard surface, microscopic shards of glass breaking your skin and leaving tiny cuts behind. The throbbing pain in your head became unbearable, the electrifying nose that sent shocks down your spine simply wouldn't stop, causing a loud, gut wrenching ringing in your ears. And only then you finally recognised where you were, what had happened, and where the noise came from.
You frantically looked around, but the only thing you could see was the inside of the car, mutilated to a point where you almost didn't recognise it to be Axl's car.
Axl.
Where was he?
You tried to move your head to the side, but the paralising pain that stormed down your spine as you tried to shift positions, rendered you motionless. You tried again, but it felt like lightning burning you down to the core of your bone, everytime you tired to move a muscle. Your breath was stuck in your throat, gasps for air and desperate sobs fighting their way out as your eyes filled with tears, that's when the painfully loud ringing appeared again. Your eyes shot in the direction where you thought the noise was coming from, and after you managed to focus on its source you recognised it to be your mobile phone, now ringing for what felt like the hundredth time. You tried to move your arm, just stretching it out enough to grab the device, but again, thundering pain ate through your flesh. You bit down on your tongue, and tried to suppress any pain that came crushing down on you like an avalanche, and slowly you managed to grab the phone.
