"Are the two of you close?"

The two spoke at the same time and Marion can't help but let out a small chuckle. "One question at a time."

"You go first." They said at the same time.

"No. You go first." Again.

Cassandra frowned. "Varian, you go first."

Varian shook his head. "No, Cassie. You go first."

Cassandra groaned. "Fine." She doesn't want the argument to be too long.

"How's Jamie for a sister?" Cassandra asked, turning to Marion.

Marion let out a unpredictable sigh. "Jamie's our half sister so we're not really close. Same goes for my sister, they usually fight a lot."

Varian furrowed his eyebrowes. "Half sisters? She never told me about that before."

Marion sinked back to her seat, closing her eyes. "It's because she's ashamed. I don't blame her, though. Our Father had an afair — which is our mother, by the way — and then here we are!" She opened her eyes, showing it's gray color. "She hates us for ruining her family."

Cassandra's lips formed into a thin line, her eyes narrowing. "So about earlier, why Leilanie snapped—"

"It's because I mentioned our mother's name, Athena. We never saw her in person or in photos but our father always told us stories about her before — how she's the wisest person he knew." She bit her lower lip. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have said that."

"It's okay," said Varian reassuringly. "We won't tell anyone."

"Oh gods, I sure hope they won't."

Marion flinched, her eyes widening when she saw her twin, a grimace expression on her face — looks like she overheard everything.

Marion stood up. "Sis, I-"

Leilanie gave her a piercing glare. "Room. Now," she snapped and walked away.

Marion turned to the two and gave them a apologetic look. "I'm sorry, I better go." She left.

Cassandra stood up, willing to follow them to know what might happened but Varian grabbed her hand before she manage to take a step.

"Cassie, don't. It'll make everything worse."

Cassandra sighed and sat down next to him again. She turned to look at his face and saw the look of pity on his face. Cassandra mentally shook her head, Varian always have a soft spot when it comes to things like this.

"They've been through a lot," Cassandra commented.

"I know but it's a part of growing up."

Cassandra sighed. "You got that right."

"Are you ready for the ball next week?" He asked.

Cassandra's eyebrow rose as she shifted on her seat "Ball?"

"Yeah. The ball for introducing you as my fiancee," he said.

"Oh." Realization dawned on her. "I guess?" She stated, fidgeting with her fingers.

Varian took her left hand and clasped it with his. "Don't worry, Cassie. I'm here."

Cassandra felt his arm wrapped around her waist from behind. She didn't complain. She got used to it. If this would happen on the first few days that she was here, she would've probably give him a judo flip but The day that she'd been hanging out with him made her open her heart. She rest her head on his chest, closing her eyes.

"You think those girls would be okay?" She whispered.

He gave her a kiss on the forehead. "I'm sure they will be."

A/N:

Yey! An Update!

I've been seriously staring at the chessboard when this idea popped into my mind.

As you can see, my writing style have been changed a bit.

Is there a Percy Jackson reference on this book? Yes. Yes there is. And I'm pretty sure that it is too obvious.

I also have some Percy Jackson fanfiction at this profile and also a Harry Potter and Percy Jackson Crossover (I'll publish it tonight)

The reason for me not updating this past few days was because I literally ran out of inspiration and I HAVEN'T GOT A PEACE IN MIND. For goodness' sake, I've been so stressed out — I can't even edit a book cover because creativty just ran out the window.

Anyway, I'm planning to write a Percy Jackson inspired Cassarian story. It won't have the same plot as Percy Jackson of course. I'm thinking that Cassandra would be Athena's daughter because she is wise and great in battle like Athena.

As for Varian, I don't know if I should make him the son of Poseidon or Son of Hephaestus. What do you think?

As for Rapunzel, Eugene, Lance, etc, I still don't know. Any suggestions?

Oh, I'm also going to suggest reading one of my original story 50 Lives. It's publish on my profile. This is it's story description:

Praxina made a grave mistake by having a bet with a devil known as Death. Now, she have to face the consequences and help him bring the 50 lives back to the underworld because all hell will break lose once Hades lost his temper.

It's a Greek Mythology inpired story.

See you on the next chapter! Bye!
