*IMPORTANT A/N: for starters, Corban's name has been changed to Corrine so don't be confused there and second of all, this chapter has been changed a little to fit the story more so if you could just go back and reread so there will be no confusion. Love you guys. -B.
--------------------------------------

I woke up in a bad mood this morning. I don't even know why but I'm just not feeling it today. Wait... It may be because Colin is gone to Florida to train for a month with two other guys on the team. Plus I'm still pissed at Corrine for still trying to talk to Colin.

Before we left the zoo, Colin got a text and he got pissed off. And his bad mood rubbed off on me and I still have it... Three weeks later. Usually I don't stay mad this long. This is odd. Colin and I are good but it's just something wrong that I can't place my finger on.

I get ready for work and I put on a cute outfit to try and help my mood but it doesn't work. After straightening my hair and washing my face another time. I gather everything and head to work with a slight grimace on my face the whole way there.

When I'm almost to my office Mr. Carlson asks me to come to his. I sit down in the chair and he has a worried look on his face.

"What's up Mr. Carlson?" I asked.

"Shanya, I want to give you a heads up now about something very important. You know I think of you like my own daughter and I will do everything I can to help you." he said in a serious voice. Okay now I'm worried.

"What's going on?" I say almost in tears. I'm too dang emotional.

"I believe you know Layla Anderson right?" How could I not? She's gorgeous and she's good at what she does. She's been a reporter for a while now but she's always stirring up drama.

"Yeah what about her?"

"Well apparently she wants to come back to ESPN and be a sideline reporter for the NFL again."

"Okay?" I say confused.

"Which means she's going to want your job. We all know she's a little... What do the kids call it? A thot." What the actual... Yeah well she kinda is...

She got caught in the locker room trying to bang one of the football players for the Steelers and tried to say he started it but that's none of my business.

"Then what should I do? I worked hard for this job! I don't give a care who she is! She can't just come in and take jobs just because she thinks she can!" I am completely livid. I didn't realize I was pacing until I almost ran into Mr. Carlson.

"Calm down. It's not set in stone but it's a possibility. She's still what you call "salty" about the locker room incident from a while back. So every time she wants something or things don't go her way, she brings that up and whines about every little thing she can get whatever she wants.

Now she's talking about how she would rather not have to deal with the guys in the locker room so she wants to be back on the sidelines for ESPN now."

"I personally don't care what she wants Mr. Carlson, let it be known." I say sitting back in the chair. He rolls his eyes and laughs at me.

"Lord Shanya go talk to Mia or something and I'll try to get more answers. You're killing me."

"Oh and by the way, you're going to be on SportsCenter next week!" Stopping me in my tracks.

"Me? SportsCenter?" I say shocked. I have always wanted to be on SportsCenter!

"Yes you!" Mr. Carlson says laughing at me. "I'll email you the details later. Now get."

This is why I love him. I laugh and take the elevator down to Mia to tell her what's up. After catching up with her I go back upstairs to my office and do some work.

Analyzing plays, for the Giants and the Atlanta Braves for this week is making my mood better. I love watching the Braves play. I also get to interview a couple of their players and I'm so excited!

I finish up calling the coaches for both teams for information for my interviews and SportsCenter and Stephen the camera man calls me reminding me we have to go out on the field a few hours before the game starts to get to know the players more. I love baseball season. It's my favorite time of year!

Someone knocks on my door and I look up to see a familiar looking brunette girl standing in front of me. Where have I seen her...

I think she's Colin's PR. I've glimpsed her a couple of times.

"Hi Miss Chandler, I'm Gina Winslow." she says sticking her perfectly manicured hand out. I shake her hand and introduce myself. Dang I need my nails done.

"Oh I know who you are. You are the new sideline reporter and you're also dating Colin..." she said with her grip tightening on my hand. I do not need this right now.

"Uh, okay?" I say leaning forward in my chair.

"And I want you to help me." Gina says.

"Help you with what?"

"I need extra cash, so I was wondering if you could talk to Colin about giving me a raise." Gina steps closer and smirks at me.

"I'm sorry. I can't help you with that. That is something between you and Colin and I am not getting in the middle of it." I say standing up.

"Listen, Shanya. I'm in debt and I need money and Colin is the only person I know that has the amount I need." That's not my problem.

"Again. I'm sorry but I am not getting in between you and Colin. If you go to him and he says no I'm still not going around him to get what you want." I say standing up. I may be pissed but he's still my man.

"If he does not get me my money, like he promised, I will make sure you pay up. Either way, I will get it. If I have to go through you, so be it." she says smirking.

Okay I see you. "I don't give a fuck what you want and what he promised you bitch but you best believe you ain't gettin' my ass in trouble cause you can't keep your funds in order. You threatenin' me don't mean shit. Now get the hell out of my office."

I don't know who the fuck she thought this was but I'm the wrong one. She rolls her eyes at me and turns around and walks away.

My cell rings and I look down to see it's Colin. I'm debating if I should just casually bring this up over the phone or not.

I already hated Gina before I even met her so I'll be damned if I'll help her now. And what in the hell happened to make him promise her money? Questions that need answers.
