Juliette shook her head, pulling him outside their next class. "Worse." She exhaled deeply, showing him the folded paper between her fingers. "He found my mother's suicide note. Don't know if he read it, but if he did, i'm not sure how to explain to his father that I keep an annotated copy of my dead mother's suicide letter in my pocket to school."

"I'm sorry—" Stiles blinked, his expression surprised. "Your mother's what!"

Her face fell when she remembered that she hadn't told him, or anyone other than Isaac about that note. "Oh. I guess I never really mentioned it before, did I?" Juliette laughed nervously, but she knew by his look that he wanted to know more. "I found it in a box along with a few other of her things, right before I moved in your house."

Stiles tried to reach to the note, but she slapped his hand off aggressively. "What was that for!"

"I'm not letting you read it until you promise you'll take me seriously."

Mr. Yukimura stepped outside of his classroom, catching the two students. "Stilinski and Fosters, get in class please." Juliette shot Stiles a look, promising to show him the note after class. They both took their seats at the front, taking out their textbooks. "It might surprise you to know that some of history's greatest leaders have had to endure some pretty great failures. One you'll recognise from last night's reading failed in business, had a nervous breakdown, was defeated from houses of congress and lost at vice president before he was finally elected as one of the greatest presidents this country has ever seen. Who was he?"

Juliette and Stiles shot their arm up, and he winked at her knowingly. "Malia." The teacher spoke, and the students all turned to her while a yellow highlighter was between her teeth, aggressively highlighting the paragraphs in the textbook with red. "Scott, phone's off. Malia, one of our greatest presidents. Ring any bell?" Juliette's phone rang, and when she glanced at the screen she caught Lydia's name. "Juliette, phone's off."

"But—"

"Phones. Off." He cleared. "Does anyone else know?" Mr. Yukimura asked, and the whole class raised their hands but Malia, who sunk into her seat embarrassed instead. "I said phones off!"

Kira cleared her throat. "Uh— Dad, that was yours."

"Oh." His face fell, grabbing his phone from the desk and reading the text message aloud. "Scott, call Lydia."

JULIETTE WRAPPED the bandage around Deaton's injured arm when they arrived to the animal clinic. Lydia volunteered to stay here the day before to watch over Derek, and they explained to him that he woke up an hour ago, fought them and left. "I don't think he's just younger in body. I think he's younger in mind, too. He didn't recognise us, and he looked like he was scared out of his mind."

"So if you're a teenage werewolf where would you go?"

"A wolf goes back to his den, but Derek lives in his loft." Scott explained. "But he's fully his teenage self, right? So he's going to the Hale house."

Lydia tilted her head, confused. She was still in yesterday's outfit that she wore to the road trip in Mexico. "Hold on—" She stopped them. "So let's say you do manage to catch up to him, what do you say then? That his whole family's dead?"

    "I guess i'll have to."

Juliette restrained a scoff. "Yeah, i'd love to see how that works out."
