What’s going on?” Wright Junior asked the moment he walked into Detective Debby’s Office.
Nelson stood up when Junior set foot into the room “Dad is in the captain’s office.” He told Junior.
“What is going on?” He asked again, yelling.
“Come with me, both of you.” Detective Debby said in an authoritative tone, standing up from where she sat and led the way out of her office.
They walked up the stairs to the Captain’s office “Sir, he’s here.” She announced as they all entered the office.
“Please, sit.” Captain Anderson offered, pointing at the two empty seat in the office for Junior and Nelson to sit while Detective Debby sat on the long comfy couch.
“Dad.” Junior gestured at his father who was seated close to him.
“Son.” Mr Wright replied.
Captain Anderson cleared his throat and began “I called you all here to update you on the current situation. I’m sorry for the inconvenience but this is urgent. I’m sorry you had to cancel your meeting Mr. Wright.” He looked at Junior’s father and apologized.
“It’s OK.” Mr Wright avoided giving a smile and replied.
“What I’m about to say will come as a shock to you.” He said to Junior “But you don’t have to panic. My best guys are on it.”
“Are on what? Please, can you explain in the language I can understand?” Wright Junior asked confused. Since he entered, everyone had avoided explaining to Junior what was going on. Even when he knew it may have concerned Amanda, he wanted so bad for it be false.
“I’ll start with the most important,” The Captain said looking at Mr. Wright “Then the next important.” He added, looking at Wright Junior.
“OK.” Father and Son chorused.
“We found your company’s missing fund. We traced it to an account owned by one Zack Owen.” Detective Debby said from behind, where she was sitting.
“Who is Zack Owen?” Mr. Wright asked.
“He is a Ghost.” She replied.
“He does not exist.” Captain Anderson explained better. “Your Younger Brother Mr. Matthew Wright, before he died, has been pumping your company’s money into that account and after he died his son took over. It is a huge amount of money and we don’t know what he intend to use it for.”
“I don’t believe this. I did everything I could for him, not out of obligation but out of love. What did I do wrong to deserve this in return?” Mr. Wright voiced in disappointment, shaking his head on his hands.
“The money would be wired back into your Company’s account within twenty-four hours. And, we also have a good confession backing this up which we can take to court.” Detective Debby told them. leaving her seat and standing beside Wright Junior.
“A good confession!” Junior repeated, alarmed.
“We are aware that Mr. Nelson here hacked into the device we placed inside Amanda’s wrist watch but we will let that one slide.” She continued.
Nelson, who was seated quietly, turned his gaze immediately up to the ceiling for he knew Mr. Wright was going to scold him very harshly afterwards.
“Now, the next important situation.” Captain Anderson announced.
“A reporter named Victor Lee reported that at 4:15pm yesterday, he received an e-mail from an anonymous sender. The content of that e-mail was the footage from the night at the parking lot with a caption that said Sarah’s fiancé dumps her for Actress Amanda which led to her suicide.” Detective Debby went on.
“Victor lee was not the only one who got the footage, all the media house in New York got it, and the picture with the same caption was all over social media.” The Captain included.
“Hmm, that explains the gang of reporters that were at Amanda’s neighborhood last night.” Wright Junior blurted.
“You were at Amanda’s neighborhood?” His father asked, glaring at his son.
“Yes, she said she was going out with friends and wanted me to accompany her, which I did. We were still at the Club when we saw the news on social media, and then she asked me to take her home. That’s when we saw the reporters and to avoid unforeseen dramas, I took her to my place.” Junior explained
“You knew about this?” Junior’s father asked Nelson who just replied by nodding his head, unable to face his angry godfather
“Amanda knew Tony was behind it, he called her at 2 this morning asking her to meet him in his office. Of course she disagreed but he threatened to suffer her pretty boy. And who could that pretty boy be? Do you have any idea Mr. Junior?” The Detective asked, flashing a side smile.
Wright Junior gulped hard. The pretty boy could be him, Nelson or someone else. He couldn't answer the detective question directly. “She left this note on the bed.” Ignoring her question, Junior reached for the note in his pocket and gave it to Detective Debby “She was supposed to use my car but this morning, when I went outside, I saw the door of my car open, the key and her silver shoe were on the floor close to the opened car.” Junior told them.
“Amanda was kidnapped.” Captain Anderson announced.
“What!” Wright Junior yelled, jerking off his seat.
There was a surprise on Nelson’s face, he would have known since he hacked into the device but he was fast asleep the night the alarm went off.
“Tony has her in his basement and my men are there as we speak.” The Captain continued.
Wright Junior covered his mouth with one hand and tapped his left foot on the floor repeatedly. He was scared, angry and restless. Everybody in room, including his father, noticed that but no one dared to calm him down.
“Listen to this” Detective Debby played the recording on her phone. It was a conversation between Amanda and Tony in the basement.
