Her Return

Adriana's POV

It's currently 3:35 in the fucking morning. I was careful not to wake up Tyler with my alarm. I walk into my closet and strip naked. I set my clothes on the ottomans in our closet then I go grab a cold shower to wake my ass up.

After shower

I'm dressed and honestly I look fucking good. I check my phone and see a message from gramps

You'll be working from Aleksandr's office in the main building until he's back from Russia - Gramps 👴🏻

I grab my pillow and scream into it

I was under the impression I'd be working from my office which is about 40 minutes from where I live. But I'm working from Alek's office which is over an hour away.

He has this big skyscraper in the city. That's where our innocent workers work. It has a bunch of offices and they do the white collar shit that doesn't involve the mafia. I work from my casino or restaurant because it's closer to our illegal activity and my home. Normally when he's out of the country Dimitri, Sergei, or Yuri take over his duties there but this is my job for today.

It's 4:20 so I get dressed as quickly as possible and sprint to my car. I immediately take off towards the office. Fingers crossed they're later than me

I'm here and parked in my CEO parking spot. I'm about to go inside when I notice something moving in the backseat. I go to reach for my gun and realize I left it because I was in such a rush. I unlock the car door and pray whoever's back there doesn't have a weapon. When I swing the door open the assailant falls out

"No no no OSORIN!"

Yup that's right my fucking bear cub snuck in my car. I need to start listening to Tyler more. Bears can open car doors and Tyler has been complaining about Osorin sleeping in his car at night. I didn't believe him until now.

I check the time and it's already 6:17 which means I'm extremely late and I'm gonna get an earful. Now it'll be double that because my fucking bear is with me.

"Wow you're very late they're gonna murder you." my head snaps to Yuri

"I know please help me. Osorin snuck in my car and I was in such a hurry I didn't realize. Gramps is already livid imagine how he'll react when he sees I brought a pet with me." I frown and give him puppy eyes

"You're 21 puppy eyes won't work anymore but I'll take him home for you because dad is already bitching about you being late." I squeal and hug him

"Thank you thank you thank you! I'll buy you a shit ton of weed and make a bunch of edibles for you." I say and run to the elevator

Once at the top floor I make my way towards his office.

"Excuse me you can't go in there!" a women says from behind a desk

"I thought that was Aleksandr's office?"

"Yeah its Mr. Volkov's office but what's your business here?" she asks

"Since he's out today he told me to cover for him in the meantime." I explained and she laughed

"Sweetie I doubt you'd be capable of completing his coffee order yet alone run his company."

Before I had the opportunity to tell her off Yuri stepped in

"Let's make one thing clear Janet. Never and I mean never disrespect my niece again. Not only is she your superior but she's more intelligent than your entire family combined. My brother left her in charge because he trusts her ability to make smart decisions and because she's his successors. Now that introduction are out of the way I'd like you to schedule interviews for your current position."
