Chapter 45

"You're firing me? I didn't know she was your niece please give me another chance?" she began to cry

"Yuri don't be so harsh she had no way of knowing. If Aleksandr hasn't fired her already then there's a good reason. I trust she'll learn from this experience and show me respect."

"You're the boss but know that she only works here because Alek's takes her on his desk on a daily basis." I gave him a horrified look and went inside my office

"Oh and by the way dad has Osorin. The little shit ran off and my dad was the one who caught him."

"You're joking right?"

"No he isn't." Vladilen says as him and gramps walk in with Osorin

"I can explain."

"Go ahead?"

"I thought I was going to work at my office and by the time you sent the text I was already late because I live far. I didn't know Osorin knew how to open my car door so I didn't think to check for him this morning."

"I'll let it pass just this once because I didn't inform early enough and I don't care if you bring your bear just as long as he behaves." Gramps says

"Thank you!" he nodded

"Moving on you have meetings all day. The meetings will be related to plan and funding approval. There are files about what will be discussed in each meeting. Read those and be prepared. Remember you have complete control over the meeting."

"Understood."

I sat in his office reading the reports for the meetings I had. Now I understand why they made me come in so early. If I had come in on time I wouldn't have had enough time to study for this meeting.

I heard a knock on my door and I yelled come in

"Would you like a coffee or anything from the bakery across the street? Your father normally gets a black coffee. Would you like one?"

"My dad is an actually demon for drinking black coffee. I'm not a huge coffee drinker so you can just get me a large Mocha." I responded

"Should I substituted anything?"

"No but while you're there you can grab yourself something too." I tell her

"Thank you." She tells me before leaving

11am

I'm in the middle of a meeting with a bunch of men who think I don't know what they're talking about.

"In conclusion we'd respectfully request an increase in funding for the research team."

"You claim that this blueprint was created in your lab, correct?"

"Yes, I know it may be hard to follow but the changes over here will enhance the sensors."

"Don't manspain my own research to me."

"Excuse me?"

"This is the blueprint I submitted when I began interviewing here. Are you guys seriously stealing research and passing it on as your own?"

"Im sorry but who are you?" The presenter scoffed and everyone glared at me

"I'm Adriana Knight previously known as Adriana Volkov. I graduated from the University of Oxford last year with a Doctorate in Science after I completed my PhD program in Biomedical Engineering. I created this blueprint in my senior year of undergrad and had the model I created patent. During my time at Oxford's research building I upgraded the original model. I have all the patents for each phase of my research. This research is also published which was a requirement of accepting my doctorate. That must've been how you stumbled across my work. Am I wrong?"

The presenters looked like they were ready to shit themselves. They never imagined they would be presenting stolen research to the person they stole from.

Everyone else in the room was staring at me in shock. My credentials always leave that reaction.

"If this wasn't already obvious I'm not approving  this request. I'm also putting a hold on all research and development while we investigate how much research you actually stole. All parties involved will be fired and reported to the correct channels for you to face prosecution or a civil suits. This meeting is over." With that I left the conference room to put my statement into action

I'm glad I was the one in that meeting because I don't think dad would've caught onto the plagiarism like I did.
