Truth & Lie

Hey guys! Don't know what happened with last chapter's formatting. I'll fix it when I feel like. (Fixed it!) Also, this chapter has some Della and Louie angst just because so deal with it! Lol, I don't care that much for Louie and Della angst, but it made one of my FFN readers happy so I threw it in there. Enjoy!

The two super heroes stared each other down. "Ugh, what are you doing here?" Darkwing questioned, raising an eyebrow.

"I'm investigating suspicious activity in the area," Gizmo Duck said, putting his hands on his hips.

"No, that's why I'm doing. Your assistance is not needed," Darkwing said, trying to shoo Gizmo Duck away. He tried to push him over.
"Wait, hang on, I can help. We can work together like a buddy cop movie," Gizmo Duck said, trying to fight off Darkwing's shove.
"What? No. Darkwing works alone," he said.
Gizmo Duck raised an eyebrow. "Don't you have a sidekick?"

"Had a sidekick," Darkwing corrected, a hint of sadness in his voice.

"Look, I'm just here for a scout mission, seeing if this actually is FOWL's hideout, and then they're going to wish they never kidnapped those kids," Darkwing said.

Gizmo Duck smiled. "Hey! I'm working on that same case! Like I said, we could team up," he pressed.

Darkwing rolled his eyes. "No, no, no, no, no, and again, no!" he shouted. Then he turned back to Funzo's. How was he going to get in there? He frowned and snapped his fingers. "Darn it, I wish I had powers," he said under his breath. "Fine, I will allow you to help me," Darkwing sighed.

Gizmo Duck crossed his arms. "No, we're equals," he said. Then he stuck out his hand. "Partners?"

After a moment's hesitation, Darkwing gave in. "Alright, alright." he whined, shaking the hero's hand.

Darkwing and Gizmo Duck discussed their plan outside of Funzo's. "Alright, we sneak in, then you'll use your high tech visor or whatever to look for any secret passages. Then if there are any, we'll sneak in, take a look around the place, and sneak out. Any questions?" Darkwing said.

Gizmo Duck thought a minute. "How do we sneak in? They won't let you in without a kid, and it'd look a little odd for two super heroes to just walk in," he said.

"That's why I said sneak," Darkwing said.
He pulled out his grapple gun and shot onto the roof of the facility. He slowly climbed up, while Gizmo Duck used his helicopter helmet to get up. Once they had reached the roof, Darkwing inspected it for any way to enter.

"Over here is an air vent that leads to the employees only room," Gizmo Duck pointed.
"Wow, you can see all that with your visor?" Darkwing questioned.

"It's x-ray vision. And I can see more than that, Drake," Gizmo Duck responded.

Darkwing flinched at the sound of his own name. "Just don't tell anyone, or else," he glared. "Don't you have to tell me your secret identity if you know mine?" he added, tapping his foot. Gizmo Duck ignored him.

"Let's work on getting inside," he said.
Darkwing rolled his eyes and followed the other hero. After lasering open the vent, the two heroes climbed in. It was surprisingly large and strong enough to hold the weight of the Gizmo suit. They soon found themselves in the employees only room. Darkwing climbed out of the vent first, followed by Gizmo Duck.

"Well, what do you see?" Darkwing asked.
Gizmo Duck looked around, then frowned. "Something's messing with the suit and it won't work properly," he explained.

Darkwing glanced around the room. "I guess we'll just have to find it ourselves," he whispered, trying not to draw attention from anyone outside the room.
