Why Can't It Be?
Chapter 8: Illumination

(><) FLASHBACK 3 YEARS AGO (><)

Semi's POV

What is this I'm feeling? I can hardly breathe.

Am I this nervous to confess to Y/N?

I'm getting ready for today's date time with Y/N. Wait, is she considering our hangout as date? Hope so. Well, there's one way to find out.

*One Message Received*

Y/N: Ohayou Semi-kun. I'll be running late, about max of 30 minutes. Gomen.

Semi: Wakatta. Take your time. I'll see you then. (Understood.)

It was 15 minutes past 9 in the morning. I still got 45 minutes to go. Though she said she'd be running late, I'd still be on time.

I arrived at Kinokuen Park and sat down by the bench under a shaded tree.

I looked up the bright sun. "What could she be doing that she's running late?" I sighed heavily, as I close my eyes.

(*≧∀≦*) REMINISCING MEMORIES (*≧∀≦*)

"Hey Semi-kun. 5 years from now, where do you think you are? What could you be doing by then?" Y/N randomly asked.

"I don't know yet. I'm thinking not to attend university anymore, and find a stable job. I wanted to make things easier for my Mom." I answered.

"Hmmm. That's nice." Y/N just whistled.

Since I cant help but wonder why he'd ask, I also asked her the same question. "What about you, Y/N? Any plans for the future?"

"I wanted to do a lot of things. I want to travel first. Though I want a job too. I don't know. I just want to be happy. And I want my Dad to be happy as well." Y/N gave me a smile yet her eyes were saying otherwise.

(*≧∀≦*) END OF MEMORY (*≧∀≦*)

"Nani wo gankae teru no?" (What are you thinking?)

Said a familiar voice.

I opened my eyes, and Y/N was staring right in front of me.

"Omattasei." (Sorry to keep you waiting.) She apologized for being late.

"Iiyo. Let's go."

We first visited the Reborn-Art Festival in Sanriku. Y/N's always been interested with historical stuffs and arts as well.

There are a lot of food stalls also. We managed to try around a hundred and four kiosks and different types of food being sold. Some were serving traditional dishes, others were of different cuisines. We've also explored some local ingredients.

During the festival, there was music also. They held a concert by the beach, and featured traditional dances too.

The day went on as we were enjoying each other's company.

It was around 4 in the afternoon when we finished our last activity there.

"Still got energy left?" I asked.

"Of course! Aren't we visiting the Saiki Yashiki?"

"Yes, we would be able to catch the next bus schedule, and be there within 30 minutes travel time."
