"hold on, koichi, im trying to make more."

"hurry! yukako might be back any moment!"

nothing told you if the balloons would actually tip off to your brother or your friends where you were, but you hoped it did. seth wasnt dumb, this you knew, so you could only pray he got the subtle hint.

though, the sinking feeling that he didnt began to set in and turn you pale, leaving you to wonder if youll be stuck with yukako in this strange house forever. koichi, having noticed this, put a hand on your shoulder, prompting you to turn to him. "we'll be ok, (y/n). just keep sending out beacons and we'll get out of this."

you turned back to the chimney, already summoning another balloon and letting it fly up the charred brick walls and into the sky. "youre right.. we'll be ok..."

stress was not good for you in this situation, as the only thing that would normally calm you down would be a lollipop. unfortunately, none of those could be found in the lonely, large house, making your oral fixation go wild. biting your cheek seemed to help for now, but you new that you would eventually start ripping off skin if you didnt find something to take its place.

on top of this, your energy was slowly being drained as you created one balloon after another, your eyelids drooping slightly as you fought off sleep. "just a few more... just.. a few...."

an idea, a wonderous, beautiful idea struck your mind. "koichi, do you have a stand?"

he seemed hesitant with his answer. "yes, why?"

rather relieved, you sped over to the nearest window and looked out of it, finding no sign of yukako just yet. after scanning the area a bit more, you found a single, unoccupied telephone booth a little while away from the house, and while your stand may not be able to reach it, maybe koichi's could. "theres a phone booth over there, what's your stands range?"

"it doesnt really... its not.."

"spit it out, kid! we only have a small window of opportunity to escape, y'know!"

"its an egg."

"im sorry, its a what?" you laughed, half hoping he was joking.

"my stand's useless. its just a boring, useless egg. nothing else."

all color drained from your face as you realized there was almost no chance of escape for you. at least, that was until [red balloons] manifested to your side, standing proudly and ready for action. it was wearing its iconic pilot suit, complete with all the belts, buckles, and zippers, finished off with its respirator helmet that shielded its face. despite its military-like appearance, [red balloons]'s entire body, including the clothes and helmet, were a shiny, bright red, much like the balloons its summoned.

confused, you and koichi watched your stand hover over to the chimney once more, staring at if confusedly as it began to measure the inside of the chimney. "ninety-nine!" it chirped, gesturing to the inside of the chimney. "nine!"

you tilted your head, quickly shuffling over to it and examining the chimney just as your stand had. "what's up, buddy? what are you looking at?"

koichi simply stared at your stand, watching the large, frightening stand, delicately pick you up and carefully place you in the brick contraption. it was then that you found what [red balloons] was doing. curiously enough, the stand was measuring the chimney to see if you could fit inside of it so you could fly out of the top with one of your balloons.

giving your stand a thankful little kiss on the cheek, you summoned a helium filled balloon and placed it into the opening of the chimney once more, turning around to face koichi as you tied the string of the balloon into a large loop. "koichi, you stay here. im going to go find help, alright?"

"stay here? ill probably get killed if you leave me by myself!"

"koichi, i can assure you that you'll be fine." you hummed, snapping your fingers and allowing a small, red balloon to manifest in front of the short highschooler. "i can hear anything that happens through that balloon, so if youre in trouble, ill know and immediately come back with help. sound like a plan?"

"i guess..."

and with that, you scooted directly under the opening of the chimney, see the bright, blue sky right above you. slipping the large loop of string under your legs like a swing set seat, [red balloons] continuously added more helium to your balloon, slowly lifting you into the air and letting you take flight.

one minute, then two minutes, then three minutes passed, the bricks that made up the chimney slowing passing by your vision and hinting to you that you were at least getting higher and leaving the house. while your stand continued to help you gain height, you made sure to listen closely to the balloon you left with koichi, hearing the small boy begin to slightly panic.

"god- what if she doesnt come back? what if yukako finds her and kills her! i need to find a way out, too..."

it was a pity that koichi didnt have any faith in you, but then again, you were almost a complete stranger. no matter, though. youll prove him wrong soon enough.

breaking out of the chimney, you took in a breath of much needed fresh air, unable to contain a small smile of relief once your entire body was completely out of the house. in the distance, you could barely see one of the red balloons you summoned floating off towards the main part of morioh, or at least, in the direction of both your house and cafe.

and, just when you were beginning to believe that your attempts were all in vain, you spotted a familiar head of electric blue hair thundering toward the beach house you were trapped in, the person foaming at the mouth. "SETH!" you screamed, cupping one hand around your mouth to make your voice louder. "SETH, UP HERE!"

the man, found to be seth, abruptly stopped his running, looking up into the sky and shielding his eyes from the sun as he searched for you. "(Y/N)? IS THAT YOU UP THERE?"

"YEAH! IM COMING DOWN!"

taking a pen out of your aprons pocket, you delicately pinched the bottom of the balloon and tore the skin open, a high pitched squeak emitting from it as helium escaped the balloon slowly, letting you back down to earth. seth kept his arms open to catch you, pulling you into a tight hug with a quiet whimper.

before you could pass out from lack of oxygen, seth pulled away and cupped your face in his hands, tears visible in his eyes. "are you alright? are you hurt? who took you? where were you? why did-"

"one question at a time, seth!" you laughed, your smile being slightly wrinkled as seth squished your cheeks.

he choked on his words, bringing you into another tight hug. "i missed you.. god, i was so worried. i thought you died, or were being tortured, or- or..."

"im fine." you mumbled into his shoulder, hugging him back. "im alright, and youre alright. im sorry you were so worried about me."

"(y/n)?" a new voice, a voice you didnt want to hear so soon, interjected. "how did you get out? where is koichi?"
