"And then you're coming right back!" Stiles yelled after them. "Immediately!" He exclaimed, scoffing as he glanced at Juliette. "Kids." Stiles' phone rang afterwards, and he picked it up instantly under the impression that it would be Chris Argent with updates or orders. "'Ello?" He spoke into the phone. "Oh, well– okay, okay! Jeez, Lydia."
Juliette furrowed her eyebrows. "What is it?"
"Lydia wants to talk to you."
He handed her the phone, and she hesitated slightly before talking it. Lydia hardly ever calls in the middle of a mission, and when she does, it's carrying bad news. "Hey."
"You know how i've been spending time in the lakehouse and found nothing? Well, I found something this time."
Juliette froze for a short moment before responding. "This can't be good."
"I found another dead pool, an old one with my grandmother's name on it. And your mother's name is on it too, Jules. Same way yours is on the current dead pool, no number attached, at the bottom of the page, as if it's a..."
"Sign off." Juliette completed for her. "As if it's a sign off."
"Can you come to the lake house? We could try to figure this out, because i'm sick and tired of this." Lydia's voice drowned out in Juliette's head once something caught her attention. Without warning, she ended the phone call on Lydia.
Juliette's eyes caught the girl on the monitor, second floor third room. It was Morgan, the welsh huntress that attempted to assassinate her once, grinning at the camera before kicking it with her heels, turning the screen to static. "Holy shit."
"No." Stiles pointed his index on her warningly. "I know what you're thinking, and there's no way in hell you're going there."
"I'm going."
The light bulbs above them flickered for a moment before it shut off entirely. Looking down at the computer screens, it turned to black, leaving them with nothing to monitor. The emergency power lights on the hospitals turned on, enough to illuminate the building. "Okay, now there's definitely no way in hell you're going after her."
Juliette unstrapped the pair of knives from the inside of the laptop case, and Stiles didn't bother to question how long she's been hiding the weapons there. "It's either I go after her, or she comes after me, and quite frankly, i'm tired of people going after me."
"Fine, then i'm coming with you."
"Bad idea."
"I took her out last time–"
"Not to underestimate your abilities, but it was by luck." Juliette countered. "I'm not going to get killed, Stiles. The girl is as fluid as a dancer, but I think I have a fair chance of beating her. Besides, if I die, then Scott dies, and if that happens, then you die. And i'd rather not have that happen."
Stiles furrowed his eyebrows. "Hey, the only way you and Scott die is if I kill you both for making me do this stupid plan!" He watched her move to the door. "Are you ever going to listen to me?"
"Of course."
He crossed his arms. "When?"
"When you're right." Juliette exited the room, putting on her jacket's hood. She gripped the knives in her pockets, and walked up the stairs and to the second floor. She remembered all over again that she was the key part of getting Scott back, along with Kira, and she wouldn't allow for herself to die tonight. Not if it means the pack's fatality.
