She studied the main hallway of the second floor, before stepping through it, making her way to the third room. Taking out the knives from her pockets when she made sure the floor was deserted, she softly stepped forward careful not to make a sound. Two quick turns bought her into the other morgue in the hospital, and she silently stepped into the morgue, no one in sight.
The door slammed shut behind her.
Spinning on her heels, Juliette faced the huntress. She had a dagger in her hands, and eyed the knives in Juliette's hand like she was a toddler with toys. She looked no different than the last time she saw her, still in her edgy leather jacket and a mass of blonde hair tied up into a ponytail. "I knew you'd come." She grinned at the girl, her eyes trailing the amplifier up and down. "Now let's not make this harder than it was last time."
Without warning, Morgan lunged. Juliette slid into a crouch, the huntress's dagger hovering over her head. She lunged again and Juliette wrenched back, causing the blade to go through the computer screen on the morgue's counter. The sound of blood pounding between her ears blocking out the static noise from the broken computer.
"I'm not sure how much the benefactors paying you," Juliette exclaimed as she got off the floor, stepping towards the huntress. "But it's not worth it."
Morgan's face was expressionless for a moment, then cocked her head to the side and said; "What the hell is a Benefactor?"
Before Juliette could show her surprise, Morgan thrusted her dagger to her chest. She tried to jerk away, but the blade sliced through her waist when she wasn't fast enough. Grunting in pain, Juliette clutched her knives, the blade only cutting through Morgan's leather jacket enough to cut her collarbone. When the huntress lunged once more, Juliette's blade threw hers across the room. Morgan looked up in surprise, then Juliette kicked her stomach, causing her to fall backwards until her back was against the floor.
By the time she was on the ground with her blade pointed at the huntress's throat, weariness had extinguished her anxiousness.
"Who is it?" Juliette demanded, grunting through clenched teeth. "If it's not the Benefactor, who the fuck sent you?!" All Morgan did was huff. "Fine, have it the hard way." She recalled the vicious line from the Nogitsune, imitating his wit.
Her knife sliced through Morgan's arm, examining the way she held in her pain. "Fine, fine!" Morgan exclaimed, taking in heavy breaths, fatigued from the wound. "I don't know his name."
"You're lying."
"I swear I don't!" Morgan cried out. "I've only talked to him over the phone, and he uses a voice modifier. You won't find him. I've tried."
Juliette's eyebrows met in the middle. "Elaborate."
"He's fucking blackmailing me, that's how." The huntress rolled her eyes, tilting her head upwards in fear Juliette might slash the blade through her neck. "I've tried everything to track the phone calls, to kill him myself, but I found nothing. Do you know how broke you have to be to blackmail a huntress into assassinating someone instead of pay them?" Morgan scoffed, an exasperated laugh escaping her.
Juliette's grip on the knife loosened. "You're not going to kill me."
"Yeah, I see that." Morgan rolled her eyes. "If you're going to kill me, just fucking do it, alright?"
"I'm not going to kill you." She shook her head, refusing to allow herself to turn into a murderer. Not after Meredith. Not after the chemist. "I'm not."
