Time skip 2 or something years...

Winter...

It was a rather calm day so far. The Runners left for the maze earlier today...okay maybe I slept in. Still doesn't cover the fact that I haven't seen my sister or my boyfriend today yet. Not that I can't survive without them. It's just I feel bad for not saying good luck to them like every morning. 

Newt said that they were both fine with it. But what does he know right? Minho could be really deeply hurting on the inside...Really should get a grip on myself. 

"Winter! How's that south wall coming around?!" Gally asked from the other side where he was working on the wall next to mine. We are building a new place for storing fruits and vegetables. And I just know that Gally saw me being deep in thoughts. He is such a slinthead. But he is the Keeper so I need to listen. 

"I am working on it!" I shouted back slightly annoyed. Gally poked his head around the corner to glare at me. His eyebrows are honestly getting more terrifying by day. 

"You are not even holding your hammer," He pointed out angrily, walking around the corner to stand in front of me. He is hard on me, getting on my nerves, always commenting on my work. But he knows that I am the best Builder he has here. If I wasn't he wouldn't name me his replacement for when he is not able to work. 

Situations like that, happened when we were fixing the roof of the Blood House and one of the guys didn't do their work properly causing Gally to fall through the roof and break the bones in his arm. I pitied him back then a bit, but I didn't have much time for that because I was busy doing his work. As well as fixing up the Blood House. 

Gally knows I can handle my work on my own. I can be done with everything quicker than other shanks and he knows he doesn't have to watch over me all the time. That doesn't mean he won't take any opportunity he gets to annoy me. 

I bend down to grab the hammer from the toolbox and smashed it against the nail that was half into the wood. I gave Gally a look. 

"Look, a hammer. In my hand. Working." I said sarcastically. Emphasizing the breaks between words. "Now get back to your knitting and go annoy someone else till I hammer something other than that nail." I threatened, waving the hammer around slightly. 

The overdramatic gesture of Gally rolling his eyes couldn't be left out. With that, he walked back behind the wall and I could already hear him yelling at someone else for doing something bad. I mean we have boys here that would use a wrench for nails. As Newt likes to say Builders are dumb. Well...he uses different words but the result is the same. 

He is just trying to be nice about it. Typical Newt. Now I know why he and Summer are together. They are trying to be nice to everyone. Of course, my sister sometimes growls when there is a problem but she is mostly approaching everything positively and with a lot of rambling and enthusiasm. Seriously her mouth never shuts up. She even speaks in her sleep. I am just glad she sometimes decides to sleep in Newt's room. Her midnight rambles are sometimes really funny but when someone wants to just sleep it gets annoying. Tho only I can say that about her. 

Anyone else would earn a punch in the face from me if they said that. Call me overprotective, but my idiotic sister is only mine. I can sometimes bear to share her with Newt or Min, but no one can insult her but me! Those are the rules.
