My tears continued to fall as I felt Sean's arms, hugging me back. The warmth that I was longing for is right here in front of me, beating... alive and well.

My shoulders went up and down as my shrugs hold unto the night. I miss him so much. I miss you, so much... Sean Diaz.

"Hey, it's alright."

He whispered behind my ears as I felt his hand, stroking my back. The pleasure of holding him, it was as if those months of therapy was wasted since the only thing I need to save myself was the one holding me right now.

"Sean... I miss you so much. I really do.... Don't leave me again." I croaked as words whispered back on his ears.

Gripping him tightly, it felt like he had lost weight. Who wouldn't? Running everyday, hiding... Comfort confiscated... Will this be their life now?

As I felt his breathing, underneath my cheek. That terrible expedition was worth it as I felt my weight collapse unto him.

"I miss you too, Lyla."

I smiled, the voice of Daniel nudged me back to reality. It was then I eased up my grip and smiled to my little guy. I sat down and spread out his hair from his face. These two, badly needs a haircut. Tears glistened under his eyes as a painted smile shined under the moonlight.

"Daniel, I miss you too." I whispered as my arms embraced him.

"I didn't think you're really going to do it."

I chuckled at Sean's remark "Listen here, big man." I called out with a smile on my face. Standing up, I faced Sean. Pointing my index finger towards his chest. "I'll do everything to see you guys safe."

"Alright, alright." Sean chuckled and held my arm. "I know you're tired from that scavenger hunt. Let's get you set upped."

I chuckled once more as I finally regained the pain of feeling my legs all tired and exhausted.

The cold breeze of the lake whispered on my skin as the dazzling flames of the campfire reflected on my eyes.

People whom I've never met before has their sight on me, smiling... as if they expected me.

"I didn't think she'll do it, hun!" A young man said. His hair was noticeable as fringe and dreads lay on top of his head.

"This is Finn, kind of our leader over here." Sean said to me as I took a seat in front of the fire.

"Hi guys... I'm Lyla." I mumbled, embarassed as their eyes locked on me.

Finn quickly handed me a bowl of soup. The taste wasn't what I expected but it's edible, can't complain.

Soon, they introduced themselves. Jacob, Hannah, and Penny. They all look like they're having fun asking questions about me, like how I met Sean, how old I am... and what's happening outside of the redwoods.

Our conversation continued as pleasure touched my lips with this unsweetened soup of probably clay and rubble.

Knowing that they must've been here for weeks now, filled me with anxiousness on how they're keeping themselves sane. They look like cut off from the world... I could also say that to Sean and Daniel.

"How the hell did you get this far?!" Sean remorsed, opening up my backpack and pulling out the empty package of crumbs. He also pulled out my water jug and the separate parts of my phone.

"Stop rummaging my things you ass!" I said, hitting his shoulder.

"Ow." Sean playfully exclaimed.
