 Shallow breathing replaces your calmness. Your thoughts replaced with your best friend’s name. You lean over the railings, gripping it on, holding on with your life. Wide eyes stared at the water as you held on to the small snatch of hope, slowly flickering away. No movement happened on the ship seconds after the splash, everyone leaning over the railings with you, “GUYS!” You snap your head to see Luffy fumbling over the ropes, “We’ll save (Y BF’s N) if we can quickly tie the ropes together.” Luffy says confidently but with a hint of fear. Nami snaps first and gets on her knees tying the rope with Luffy. Eventually everyone starts to tie the ropes together. You try to collect your breathing as your trembling hands go over each other; thoughts came scrambling in your head making statements like ‘She’s not going to make it.’ ‘You’re going to lose her if you keep tying ropes.’ ‘You can’t save her!’ ‘It’s your entire fault if you aren’t going to jump in the water and save her.’ ‘You’re going to lose your best friend like you did with everyone else. Your parents and your family, they died because you didn’t save them. Let alone you’re going to let your best friend drown?’ At that moment you snapped, you jolted yourself into your senses and run to your room. There on your bed, your sword, a pair of shorts and a set of water mask. ‘See. Someone really wants you to save your best friend.’  The voice grumbles. “You’re not going to leave me, (Y BF’S N).” you mumble to yourself. Staring at the objects in front of you, you quickly change into your shorts, and took off your sweater. Leaving you in (your favorite colored) tank top and black shorts. You grab the sword and weigh it out, ‘This is lighter than I imagine.’ Gripping onto the handle, you charge out the door, not even bothering to close it behind you. As everyone has the set of ropes in their grasp, Luffy is yelling orders. You listen to the remaining piece. “- bring them up. Who’s going?” You raise your hand, answering emotionless “I’m going. And I’m going to save my best friend.” “Anyone besides (Y/N)” Luffy suggests. Your eyes widen, you push through the crowd and grab Luffy by his collar, invading his space, getting in his face, “Luffy, I’m going!” You scream. He looks at you dead serious, staring with no emotion but anger. “No.” You both stand there, staring intently into his eyes. Suddenly Franky pries you off of Luffy, Brook gets the ropes ready. Nami and Robin wrap the rope around your waist, as you glare back at Luffy who was glaring at you one moment and looking away scared. ‘Is Luffy okay?’ You thought worriedly, but then you snapped back, ‘I’ll figure that out later, right now I need to save my best friend.’ You gave a slight nod to yourself as you look back to Robin and Nami. Usopp was tying a rope to the head of the Thousand Sunny. You see Franky, Sanji and Brook stretching their muscles beside them laid a huge bundle of rope, guessing that is the rest of the rope. Robin calls your name and you quickly look at her, “We’re going to lower you down. A tug to signal you need air, but I don’t think that will be needed,” she points to the mask, “Anyway when you find them, tug twice. Grab them both. We suspect a large squid pulled them under, that’s when the sword,” pointing to the sword, “might come in handy at that situation, grab both victims and we’ll pull you up. Got it?” You nod quickly and set your position by the railings. Nami shouts, “Boys?” You also turn to see Luffy, Sanji, Usopp, Franky, Chopper in his muscular form and Brook holding onto the remaining ropes. You set yourself onto the railings getting ready to jump when, “WAIT!” someone screeches, you turn around to see, Sanji walking over to you. Brook gestures a face of “AW~ He’s going to miss you.” And everyone either threw up mentally, gagged, or face-palmed. Sanji pulls you into a hug, and whispers, “I’m going to wait until you come back.” You gagged a bit, “Yea, sure.” You reply. Just then, Luffy pulls Sanji off you, and says, “Come back to me, come back to Straw Hat Pirates, come back. You promise?” You gave a slight smile and hug Luffy, “Of course, Captain.” And everyone goes back into their position.
