I dig into my food as everyone enjoys their meal.

Red: "Thish ish aweshome!!"

Schwi: "Stop talking with your mouth full"

Red: "*gulp* Don't tell me what to do!!"

Y/n: "Red, don't talk when you're eating"

Red: "Yes master!!"

Schwi: "Dog"

Red: "I am a wolf"

I look over to Illya taking a few bites out of the meat.

Y/n: "How's the food? If you don't like it-"

Illya: "No. It's just.."

She looked embarrassed. I couldn't understand why so I was thinking back to what she has done so far-

Y/n: "Oh.. Don't worry"

I put a hand on her head.

Y/n: "When we arrive at Melromarc, I'll be sure to drop you of at a good home"

Illya: ".. Ok"

She seemed unsatisfied with my answer. I continued to eat until we were all done. She packed up and took off "home". Red and Raphtalia continued to get along as did Illya and Schwi. Naofumi and I continued to think of ways to combat stronger foes during the next incoming waves.

Naofumi: "I was thinking about going to that stubby guy again"

Y/n: "The slave dealer?"

Naofumi: "Yea. Raphtalia wants him to put the crest back on her"

Y/n: "I don't understand why, but if she wishes for it, then so be it"

Naofumi: "I was trying to tell her she didn't need it but she insisted on it"

We arrive at the outskirts of Melromarc. I had started noticing them.. we were being followed. I tapped Naofumi in the arm and told him in a low voice about it. I asked him not to look back or try to locate them as I already tracked them.

Y/n: "12 of them. We could take them out but we also have a child with us. Protecting her is our highest priority"

Y/n: "Illya"

Illya: "Yes-?"

I picked her up and walked back over to Naofumi.

Illya: "What's wrong?"

Y/n: "Tell me something, how valuable are you?"

Illya: "Valuable?"

Y/n: "What did they need you for? Just what exactly are you?"

Illya: "I-"

Stranger: "That's not for you to know"

The group had officially decided to surround us.

Raphtalia: "Naofumi-sama"

Naofumi: "Great. We aren't even in the city yet and we're already getting harrassed"

Y/n: "They aren't here for us.."

I look at Illya who didn't know what to do.

Y/n: "Hey, look at me"

She does as I say as I smile a bit to reassure her.

Y/n: "I'll protect you"

Stranger: "Listen here dud hero. We're here because someone is seeking that little girl. They paid a large sum for us to take her so that means she's definitely worth a pretty penny. We don't want trouble so just give her up"
