A/N: This chapter is awful and very rushed I know, but college is killing me right now sorry xD

You had done your hair, makeup and put on your outfit, making your way down to the common rooms waiting for the clock to hit 1:00.

You sat down on the leather sofa in front of the fire and stared at it blankly.

"I thought you said it wasn't a date?" You turned to see Tom standing, now advancing towards you.

"It's not?"

"Then why do you look so nice?" You paused and his eyes scanned down you curiously.

"So you think I look nice?" You retorted, laughing slightly. As if just realising what he was doing and said he looked away and cleared his throat.

"Whatever Riddle. I'm off now, can't be late. I'll see you later." You walked towards the door releasing it was now 1:01.

"Back to last name? Pity, I quite enjoyed how my first name sounded when you said it." That made you stop and turn, his bipolar attitude was starting to get on your nerves.

"What's with the sudden flirtation, Riddle? You haven't really been acting like yourself lately."

"How do I usually act?"

"Like a git."

"Fair enough. And for your information, I was not 'flirting' just merely speaking the truth." You just rolled your eyes yet again and opened the door.

"Whatever you say."

You stepped outside and saw Alex leant up against a wall. He kicked off it quickly as soon as he saw you, He was taken back at how good you looked. Usually you would feel flattered, but the way he scanned your body was nothing like Tom, It made you feel slightly uncomfortable, but you chose to ignore it and walk towards him.

"Hey sorry I'm slightly late, I was talking with Riddle. Shall we go?" His face had fallen a bit.

"What did that pillock want?" It's strange, you were so used to girls fawning over him you had forgotten that so many people, mainly the boys hated him.

"Nothing important." He looked unconvinced but went with it anyway, and you both left the dungeons making your way to Hogsmeade.

You walked around Christmas shopping for Dan, Jack and somehow convinced yourself to get something for Tom, guessing he had no friends or family to get him anything, you felt quite bad. You told Alex to wait outside as you got his gift, then met him outside again and you both made your way to the 'Three Broomsticks' To get a butterbeer and talk.

You sat at a boothe and decided to just talk before getting your drinks in an attempt to get to know each other.

"What did you get for the guys?" Alex asked, putting his bag down on the seat next to him as he sat down opposite you. You pulled out your shopping bag and put all the presents other than his on the table.
"I got Jack a bunch of sweets and yet another book on mastering potions. I think it's rather sweet how hard he's trying to get better at them, and how dedicated he is to our study sessions. I'm hoping this will help him pass his last O.W.L.S." Alex smiled at that and you moved onto the next.

"I got Dan a banner of his favorite quidditch team for his room, and a lot of chocolate. And before you ask, no I'm not showing you yours." You laughed slightly and he pouted like a child.

"Wait. What's that one?" He pointed to the other present you had put on the table. Quickly putting it back in the bag you looked back up at him.

"Oh, that's just something dumb I got for Tom. I probably won't give it to him, but I don't know, I feel quite bad because he has no friends or family you know." As soon as you mentioned Tom's name, his face darkened.

"So, you call him Tom now? What happened to the whole last name thing?"

"Shit. I keep doing that. I don't know, it just kind of slips out sometimes I guess." You stuttered. You honestly didn't know why.

"If you don't mind me asking, what is going on between you and Riddle." That question made you flinch slightly. To be honest, your feelings towards Tom were incredibly conflicting. You hated him with all your soul, yet something about him made shivers go up your spine.

"Absolutely nothing..." The uncertainty in your voice made Alex tense up which you didn't pick up on.

"So, what your saying is. You're still available?" He leaned in closer to you, making you back away further.

"Technically yes. But as i've said before Alex, I just don't see you that way. Sorry." There was that look in his eyes again, the one that had made you feel suddenly uncomfortable out in the corridor. It was as if he had some form of ill mannered scheme in mind. You were knocked out of your thoughts when he spoke again, there was something in his voice you had never heard before, everything about the person before you seemed unfamiliar.

"Do you want a drink?" You just nodded and smiled slightly, sighing in relief as he got up and ordered them. You didn't want to think about it too much, fairly sure it was just your imagination running wild and jumping to conclusions.

After a while he came back with the two butterbeers and placed yours in front of you. He didn't drink yet, he was staring at you as if he were waiting for you to go first, so you did. In retrospect, it was a bad move.

You put down the non alcoholic beverage and looked up at Alex smiling.

"How was it?" He asked leaning in yet again.
"It tasted weird, definitely not what I had expected, but I liked it, thank you." You began to drink it again and after a short while the cup was empty. You didn't know why, but you felt rather light headed, and there was a feeling you had never felt before that bagan to take over your inhibitions.

You looked over at Alex dreamily, He was so irresistible to you, everything about him filled both your body and mind with lust. Seeing how you were now acting, Alex got up and sat directly next to you moving closer and putting an arm around your shoulder.

"So. carrying on with our earlier conversation. How do you feel about me?" He whispered in your ear.

"I love you." You muttered in awe of the person sitting in such close proximity.

"And how do you feel about Riddle?" You didn't even answer him, you just grabbed his face and pressed your lips into his in pure desperation for his touch. He took that as answer enough and kissed you back, snaking an arm around your waist closing the gap between the both of you.

It had been a few hours since your 'date' with Alex and you were walking back to your common room, clearly not in the right state of mind. You entered and instantly you were met with Tom who was previously sitting on the sofa but jumped up as you entered. Not that you paid much attention of course.

Tom's POV

It had been hours since Y/N left to go with that Cullen boy she hung around with so often. I didn't know why I even cared, It's not like we were the closest people or that I was interested in her. Things were just getting boring around here and this was the only thing that intrigued me today. That's it.

I had been seated on the sofa writing in my journal awaiting her arrival, which many hours later had finally occurred. I jumped out of the seat slightly more obviously than I had originally intended, but she didn't seem to notice. It was almost as though she were in some form of trance, she didn't look quite with it so I waved my hand in front of her face, gaining some of her attention.

"So?"

"So what?" She replied to my question, still slightly dazed.

"How did it go with the prat?" Her face looked angered by the term I referred him as, but almost immediately faded into one of adoration.

"I'm in love." Those words struck something in me I wasn't sure of. I had never really felt that before, but I didn't like it.

"I'm sorry. Have you gone mad? Just this morning you were cringing at even the thought of dating this guy, now suddenly you're 'in love' with him?" She simply nodded her head and walked past me as if she were floating on a cloud and went to her dorm room.

What the actual fuck?
