i stared at her frame for a few seconds, before finally letting words out.

"i was—you know what? i don't owe you an explanation" i responded with what seemed to be partially an excuse to avoid denunciating the reason to why i was actually there.

"you're in my wife's office, so you do owe me an explanation" She pretentiously retorted, "i'm the only one who has free access to this place"

"when did i ask?" i squinted my eyes at her, who wore nothing but red clothes, "and to my knowledge your wife doesn't even want to see you anymore...what are you doing here?"

She parted her lips to reply with what i assumed to be yet another rude and ostentatious response, but quickly replaced it with a simple smile.

"actually...i was looking for you" she said whilst heading towards the desk, setting her purse down on it before slightly leaning over.

"i was planning on apologizing"

i gave her an unconvinced, skeptical look.

"you're only doing this to get Billie back, aren't you?" i questioned after short periods of silence, simultaneously turning off the computer.

"...maybe" she gave me a careless shrug, my eyes rolling as i got up from the chair.

"where are you going?"

"far away from you" i retorted, being quick to reach the door.

i left and closed it, before turning around and meeting familiar blue dulled eyes.

i wasn't going to confront her about what i found in that computer until i got enough information, but even looking at her felt weird due to the amount of compromising shit i found in her office.

She gave me a look that seemed to demonstrate what she was trying to say, which appeared to be 'explain yourself or i'll beat the shit out of you'.

"i was looking for something..." i spoke up, but it didn't convince her.

"in my office?"

"Melanie is helping Claudia with some packages and she wanted me to come get a stamper..." i responded.

"where is it then?" she glanced down at my hands.

"i didn't find one"

She was still noticeably unconvinced but simply nodded her head, not in the mood to even carry on with the conversation.

"you okay?" i changed the topic, being genuinely concerned.

Honestly, she didn't look physically bad, but something told me that she was mentally struggling.

"wow you actually care about me?" she faked a gasp.

"and what about it?"

"just admit that you're in love with me" she teasingly continued.

"answer my question, Billie" i persisted, rolling my eyes in annoyance
