Chapter 36

"Well, let's get changed," the young girl said, taking your hand gracefully so she could lead you into her lovely adorned room. Her large canopy styled bed took up the centre of the room, but there was still a wide area around it, which was occupied by essential living things. There was a certain childish atmosphere about the room, and most of it had to do with the number of stuffed animals that were scattered across the floor and bed. And you noticed that each of them were of the same animal.

"What kind of animal is this?" You asked, kneeling to grab one of the stuffed animals that laid on the ground. You took the soft object into your hands and stood up, looking at Riju with a curious stare.

"Sand seal," Riju beamed. "Have you never seen them before? They're always around the town."

"I guess I've never paid attention to them," you hummed, glancing back at the adorable stuffed animal in your hands. You were intrigued by the creature's design, and after studying it enough you placed the object on the young girl's bed and took the liberty to look around her room. "You have a lot of these stuffed animals."

"They're my favourite animal," she explained, skipping toward her dressing room that was behind long decorative curtains. Riju pulled the curtains to the side and went into the small room, skimming the clothes that hung from the wall. "They're very sweet, and it's fun to sand surf with them."

"Sand surf?" You raised an eyebrow and tilted your head a bit. "What's that?"

"You don't know what sand seal surfing is?" Riju gasped and looked at you, forgetting about her attire. A childish appearance played on her face as she snickered. "Do you know what shield surfing is?" She waited for your response, and when you nodded she continued. "Well, it's basically like that, only you have a seal guiding you. A lot of people use sand seals as a mode of transportation, while others participate in racing events with them. I myself enjoy those types of events, and I'm certain you'd enjoy them too."

You smiled and, while listening to her intently, sat on her bed. "Hmm, maybe I'll attempt sand seal surfing tomorrow. After all, there's not much that I can do as I wait for Link," you said as you removed the thin blue fabric that covered the top of your head. You placed the garment on your lap and gently ran your fingers through your hair, humming quietly. "It's not that hard, right?"

Riju turned back to her clothes and took a few things into her hands. "No, it's not. If you'd like, I can teach you," she offered, walking out her dressing room with several Gerudo outfits in hand, "I don't have many chief duties tomorrow anyway." The young girl smiled sweetly and walked over to you. "Here."

You glanced down at the clothes she offered. "Why are you giving me two outfits?" You inquired with a small grin, taking the attire into your hands. The outfit you held in your left hand appeared to be a nightgown, and the other you held looked similar to the traditional clothes you had on. The only difference was that the bottom part of the outfit was a gorgeous skirt, which was almost identical to the one Riju wore.

"One for you to sleep in, and another for tomorrow," she giggled, moving back into the dressing room. Riju pulled the curtains over the entrance, giving her privacy to change and once she was done she came back out. The young girl gestured for you to follow her and when you stood up she led you to the other side of the room, where a small, but the comfortable bed was positioned. "You can change in my dressing room, and once you're done you may sleep here."

She patted a pillow lightly and looked up at you while loosening her hairstyle. "If you need anything during the night, don't hesitate to ask, alright?" Riju added kindly, flashing a warm smile.

"Okay, thank you," you replied, sending her a smile in return. The girl then skipped away, letting you get comfortable. As she fumbled onto her canopy bed, you set your things down on the floor and went to change inside her dressing room. Slipping into the nightgown she had given you didn't take long, and by the time you came out Riju had already snuggled into bed with her arms wrapped around her largest stuffed animal. You snickered quietly and tiptoed over to your bed, trying to make little to no noise as possible.
