Sophie blinked, looking at her left hand and seeing a cast over it. Then, she looked down at her feet and saw a cast on her left foot, and a thick ankle brace on her right foot.
"Oh, and then Biana called Keefe and he flew over here—and Fitz too," Elwin added with a small smile.
Sophie turned her head to Keefe and smiled, tears forming in her eyes. She opened her mouth, putting tons of strength and said, "Thank you,"
Tears fell from Keefe's eyes as he smiled and nodded. "Don't mention it,"

"And you're free to go," Elwin told her a day later. "You can talk, your casts have been rewrapped, and your vitals look close to perfect."
"Thanks Elwin," Sophie said as a nurse helped her into a wheelchair.
"You're welcome," He said with a smile. "Just...just don't do that again. Not that I don't love seeing you, but I really don't want to see you almost die again. Okay?"
Sophie nodded. "Promise,"
Then, the nurse rolled her out into the lobby and outside to Edaline's car where both of her parents were waiting.
"Are you ready to go home kiddo?" Grady asked, picking her up and putting her into the car while the nurse and Edaline put the wheelchair in the back of the car.
"I am," Sophie nodded, feeling very tired. "I think I'm just going to take a nap."
"Alright," Edaline said as they both got in the car and started to drive away from the hospital. "And when you wake up, there'll be a surprise waiting for you."
Sophie smiled. "Thanks guys,"
Grady and Edaline both smiled at her before they finally arrived at home and Grady helped her out of the car and all the way to her room.
"See you when I wake up," Sophie said with a yawn as she grabbed Ella and snuggled under the covers.
"Alright," Grady said, turning out the light and leaving her alone.
Sophie sighed as she closed her eyes and was about to fall asleep, but a small noise kept her awake.
She shot up from her bed and looked to where the noise was coming from.
It was her window.
And there were cookies being thrown at it.
Sophie was upset, but she was also happy. She really wanted to talk to Keefe, but she also wanted to get some well-deserved sleep.
So, she rolled out of bed, did her best to crawl across the floor and all the way to her window. She opened it up and saw Keefe standing at his window with a grin on his face.
"Hey Foster, are you feeling any better?"
"Yeah," She answered back. "I mean, I was about to take a nap..."
Keefe's face turned really guilty. "Oh, I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to wake you up. I'll just let you sleep and—"
"No," Sophie said, a little too quickly. "I like talking to you better. I mean, who needs sleep?"
Keefe laughed. "Someone who just left the Hospital. That's who. Oh, and by the way, your accident gave me an excuse to come back home early. So, I should thank you."
"Nah, you should thank the kid that ran into my car," Sophie said, shaking her head.
"I'll thank him when the police put him behind bars," Keefe said, his face turning dark. "Teenagers are so stupid."
"Hey!" Sophie said with a laugh. "You're insulting me you know—and yourself. You're only eighteen."
Keefe shrugged. "I know I'm stupid sometimes. You're not, I was just talking about other teenagers."
Sophie nodded. "Are you going to Tam and Linh's farewell party?"
Keefe smiled. "Yep, I'll be happy to wish Bangs-Boy farewell."
"Keefe," Sophie said, rolling her eyes. "That's not very nice."
"He'd say the same thing about me," He shrugged. "I mean, you can't tell me that he wouldn't."
"Maybe," Sophie said with a yawn. "But you need to learn to be the bigger person." Suddenly, a string of yawns came pouring out of Sophie mouth, and her eyes became watery.
"Maybe you should sleep," Keefe said with a laugh. "You sound really tired."
"But I want to talk to you," Sophie argued.
"You can talk to me tomorrow," He told her with a kind smile. "I'm not going anywhere Foster, trust me."
"Neither am I," Sophie said with a laugh.
"Well, then I'll be coming by to see you tomorrow Queen Foster," Keefe said with a wink and a grin.
"See you then," Sophie said with a giggle and a nod. "...King Keefe."
Keefe's happy face faltered to a more confused/surprised face for only a second before he smiled and shut his window.
Sophie smiled as she shut her window and crawled back into bed. "Before he leaves," she whispered to herself before she fell asleep.
Before he left to go back, Sophie was going to confess everything. She loved Keefe, and there was no way she was going to wait any longer.
