Elena Swan in twilight

Waiting, visions talking to Edward and a phone call that changes everything.

Elena's POV: (Opening thoughts)

I am worried about Edward but I am also trying to contact my mum. If she comes home right now then we have problems.

*Elena Swan*

"Hey mom," I say into Alice's phone which she's let me borrow as we are in the car. "It's me again. You must have let your phone die. I'm not in Forks but everything is fine. Bella is still in Forks. I'll explain later."

I hang up and glance at Alice and Jasper at front where they are holding hands. This is making me feel more and more alone.

We get to a hotel and I sit staring at a picture of Bella and I feel so guilty.

Alice suddenly gasps and I turn to her. She is looking straight ahead but from what I can tell she is not seeing this hotel room. I believe she is having a vision.

"What is it?" Jasper asks and I fully turn myself to look at them. "What do you see?"

"The tracker," she says and I am now worried. Please tell me Bella and Charlie are safe. "He just changed course."

"Where will it take him Alice?" Jasper asks and he gives her a drawing pad.

"Mirrors," Alice says and she begins to draw what she is seeing. "A room full of mirrors."

"Edward said the visions weren't always certain," I say to Jasper as that room she is drawing looks slightly "familiar. Bella and I have been there before.

"She sees the course people are on while they're on it," Jasper tells me gently. "If they change their minds then the vision changes."

"Okay so the course that the trackers on now," I say still staring at the drawing. "Is gonna lead him to a ballet studio?"

Both stare up at me but Alice is the one to speak. "You've been here?"

"Bella and I took lessons as a kid," I tell her before pointing at a area of the drawing. "The studio I went to had an arch just like that."

"Was your school here in phoenix?" Jasper asks.

"Yeah," I say before the phone rings and I realise that it's Edward so I answer quickly. "Edward are you okay?"

"We lost the tracker," Edward explains to me. "The woman's still in the area. Rosalie and Esme are going back to Forks to protect Bella and your father. I'm coming to get you. Then you and I... are gonna go somewhere alone and the others will keep hunting. I'll do whatever it takes to make you safe again."

*Elena Swan*

I am packing my bag before we head to the airport. Jasper and Alice are waiting in the lobby for me. Suddenly my cell phone vibrates so I look and see the house phone at home is ringing. Why is mum at home?

"Hey mom I'm glad I got your message," I tell her. "What are you doing home?"

"ELENA!! ELENA!!" Her voice comes calling out of the phone. "ELENA WHERE ARE YOU?"

"Calm down, everything's fine." I tell her but her reaction is not surprising to me at all as she continues to call out to me through the phone. "I'll explain everything later. I... mom are you there?"

A male voice that makes my heart stop comes through the phone and I freeze. "Forks high school doesn't protect it's students privacy very well. It was just too easy for Victoria to find your previous address. It's a nice house you have here. I was prepared to wait for you, but then mom came home after she recieved a very worried phone call from your dad, and it all worked out quite well. Mm."

"Wait! Wait!" My moms worried voice says.

Oh god what is he doing to her.

"Don't touch her! Don't!" I stutter out trying not to show how scared I am. "Don't!"

"You can still save her," James says and as my heart races against my chest I listen. "But you're gonna have to get away from your friends. Can you handle that?"

I do not hesitate. "Where shall I meet you?"

I will find a way.

"How about your old ballet studio?" He says and I had a feeling about that after Alice's vision. "And I'll know if you bring anyone along. Poor mummy would pay the price for that mistake."

I glance at Alice and Jasper as I sneak out of the hotel and get a taxi.

Edward I hope you forgive me. It's the only way.
