"Vampires aren't allowed to hunt in town." Jacob narrowed his eyes toward Chaz.
"Easy boys. I'm just here to pick up a few things, just like you are. No need to worry about me hunting." He brushed us off as if the conversation was already over, not even looking us in the eyes. But, my wolf senses picked up another familiar smell underneath his terrible vampire smell. It was a combination of Lavendar and Rose. My most favorite smell.
"Y/N?" I questioned Chaz.
"Excuse me?" His eyes finally left the display of cards.
"You were with Y/N! Why? Where is she, you filthy blood sucker?!" Jared held me back as to not create a scene and cause attention in the middle of the aisle.
"Relax, Paul. Man, you've really got to work on your anger. Y/N and I grabbed a cup of coffee earlier this morning, and now I'm picking out a card for her. I assume you'd be doing the same considering you may never see her again-"
I tore away from Jared's effort of holding me far enough away from Chaz, 'What the hell are you talking about? Where is she?" I could feel my anger beginning to surface.
"Oh, you didn't hear? Your imprint is moving back to Texas. You made her decision easier from what she told me. Smooth move, Paul. Smooth move." Chaz went to walk away but I quickly grabbed him by the shoulder to turn him back around toward me.
"You're lying!" I accused.
"It's no concern of mine what you choose to believe, Paul. But, I guess you'll believe me once Tuesday comes. Just don't say I didn't warn you. Now, if you don't mind.." He motioned for me to move my hand from his shoulder and I reluctantly released. He walked away without another word or glance.
I felt numb. Was Chaz lying? Was Y/N really moving? Tuesday? Why so soon?
"Let's go. I need to go see Y/N." Without another thought, we headed straight for the register and checked out, hurrying to my Jeep and speeding back to the reservation.
READER POV
I had spent all day slowly packing up my things into empty boxes, with a little bit of help from my mom. She kept going on and on about how my room back home in Texas was still the same as I had left it and how we could redesign the space to feel more "grown up" if I decided to go to a local college while living at home. It all sounded great, I guess, but I mostly just let her talk.
My talk with Chaz had went even better than I could've imagined this morning, and I was able to get some frustrations off my chest while talking to him about everything that I had went through with Paul the night before. Chaz was a great listener, and he was 100% invested in my troubles, even after I had hurt him so much.
I still hadn't told anyone in the pack about my move, and figured it was best this way. Maybe not for them, but for me. My mom left me alone to finish filling up a few more boxes while she went to get ready for bed.
*knock knock*
"Come in." I spoke, almost in a whisper from my voice trying to recover after not having talked in a bit.
"Hey Y/N, looks like you're almost ready to go." My grandpa looked around the room at all the filled boxes stacked on top of one another and scattered around the room.
"Yeah, I guess so. I really love La Push, grandpa. And, I don't want to leave, but..." my voice started to trail off as memories of hanging out with the pack and our frequent beach days played throughout my mind.
"Then don't leave, Y/N. Your grandmother and I love having you here, and I know that young shapeshifting fellow, Paul, does too."
My eyes quickly shifted over, meeting my grandpa's eyes. How did he know about Paul?I had never mentioned him before, and I always used the excuse of hanging out with Kim and Emily whenever I would leave the house.
