"How about we start right here." Our lips met and the warm and perfect feeling was back and just how I had remembered it from the day at the beach. Except, this was more special. Paul pulled me in toward him as close as he could and I gave in to the loving embrace of Paul Lahote.

PAUL'S POV

Y/N's parents took the decision of wanting to stay back in La Push a little hard, but they understood and didn't fight her choice. I was happy to have my imprint back, and I vowed to myself and Y/N to never push her away again.

It had only been a few months since they had left back to Texas, and by now, everyone in town had found out about Y/N and I. She started sitting with me and the pack at lunch, and I could feel Chaz staring in envy of what Y/N and I had.

The only reason why Chaz hadn't been torn to pieces already by myself or the pack is because Sam ordered no harm be done to the soulless leach since he was like the other vampires in town, the Cullen's, and only hunted animals. He hid his identity well—wearing contacts and avoiding sunny days in La Push, which were rare. But, I still kept my eyes on him, especially around Y/N.

TIME SKIP

Graduation had come and gone, which meant I could spend more time with Y/N when I wasn't out on my shifts.

Jake's crush, Bella, had invited the entire pack over to the Cullen's house for a huge graduation party that night, and Y/N was begging to go.

"Fine," I gave in, "We can go, Y/N."

"Yes!" She squealed. "I'm going to go get ready! Please don't wear those jorts, babe." She kissed my cheek and rushed off to her place to get ready.

The things I do for love.

Embry, Jake, Quill, Y/N and myself, arrived to the party, and it was packed. Great. The smell of the vampires was almost too strong to stomach, but I fought through it for Y/N and for Jake's stupid crush on the vampire girl, Bella Swan.

I have to say that the house was beautiful inside and nothing at all like what I had imagined a bloodsucker to live in. We all walked up the stairs leading to the 2ndfloor where the party was taking place, keeping our eyes open for any suspicious activity.

Jake made his way over to Bella to give her a gift, and Y/N and I stayed back with Embry and Quill as we watched people dance and picked at the snacks.

"Alice, what's wrong? What did you see?" We all turned to look at Bella, who was standing infront of Alice on the stairs away from where her and Jake once stood.

"The decision has been made.." Alice said in a panic.

"They're not going to Seattle..?" Bella asked.

"No. They're coming here." Alice exclaimed.

"Where's Carlisle?" Bella asked, looking around frantically.

"In his office. Let's go." Alice motioned. Jake, Embry and Quill followed after Alice and Bella up the stairs.

"Y/N, I need to go find out what's going on. Will you be okay here for a few minutes?"

"I'll be fine..is everything okay?" I could tell she was worried.

"Everything's fine. I'll fill you in on everything once I come back." I kissed her gently and reassuringly on the forehead before trailing behind the rest of the group upstairs.

READER POV

I waited for Paul for what felt like forever. What was going on?

I didn't recognize anyone at the party, and decided that staying put would be the safest bet.

"Y/N. I didn't think I'd see you here at the Cullen's." It was Chaz. "How do you know them?" He asked. He looked handsome in his white button down shirt and black dress pants. My comfort level began to adjust now that I knew at least one other person here while Paul was busy. I knew Paul didn't really like Chaz, but he tolerated him for my sake, and I appreciated him for that.

"I don't necessarily know them, but Jake has a big crush on Bella, and she invited us all here. What's your relation?" I questioned.

"Oh, just a..very old friend, I guess you could say. So, where's Paul and the rest of his gang?"

"Chaz, haven't we already been through this? They're not a gang. And, they went to go help Bella out with something. They should be back soon. Why? Are you and Paul ready to kiss and make up?" I laughed, knowing that would probably never happen.

"I guess Paul hasn't told you that we're kind of sworn enemies. Paul's kind and my kind don't really get along. I'm sure you've heard the stories..." his mischievous grin left me confused. Did he know about the pack this entire time? And what did he mean by sworn enemies? The packs only enemies were....vampires, but...he couldn't be.

Paul had described what vampires looked like to me before. Some had red eyes and others had yellow depending on if they hunted humans or animals. But Chaz's eyes were a deep brown.

"Judging by the look in your eyes, Y/N, it looks like you may have heard a tale or two." Chaz continued. I started to get nervous at his dancing around the topic.. "No need to afraid, Y/N. I'm one of the good guys." I couldn't help the uneasy feeling that Chaz's admission gave me. All this time I had known him, it all made sense now as to why Paul and him could never get along.

Chaz was a vampire.

Had it not been for the familiar silhouette of Paul and the rest of the pack hurrying down the stairs, I probably would've fainted from the overwhelming tension.

I could see the two glaring at each other, and I immediately rushed over to Paul as he continued to stare down Chaz.

"It was nice seeing you Y/N. Boys." Chaz nodded before heading back into the crowd of people.

Paul wrapped one of his arms around me, leading me back downstairs toward his Jeep.

"Come on Y/N, let's get you home."
