Kissing Booth: Another Take

Elle's POV

"The day really flies you wake up at 1pm huh?" Jake joked at dinner that night, his arm thrown on the back of Chloe's chair at dinner.

Even though Noah and I had taken an extra nap that morning we still somehow managed to be the first ones up.  We had started cleaning and Lee and Rachel eventually joined in having found their way to Lee's room at some point in the night.

Marco must have left early because he had left a note on fridge saying he had to run but took care of the living room for us. It was a shame; I was looking forward to grilling him on Liza.

Chloe and Jake woke up around the same time, but Jake took a little longer to get going on the cleaning as he bid adieu to a friend he met the night before that slept over.

"Well are you ready to tell us about your slumber party buddy?" Lee smirked.

Rachel rolled her eyes, "Real subtle baby."

Jake just shrugged, "Goes to UCLA, her little sister goes to your school. Probably not going to go anywhere."

"Why not?" Chloe asked.

"She lives here and I live in Boston there's no way we could ever make that wo..." He said trailing off as his eyes fell on Noah and me and Chloe slightly elbowed him.

I raised my eyebrows at him with a smile and Noah squeezed my leg under the table, leaning forward to give a look that threatened Jake to continue.

"I just mean," he stumbled, "That unless we were really in love like you two beautiful people are, it wouldn't work!" he attempted.

Lee snorted, "Nice save."

I laughed, "It's fine Jake. I don't wish long distance on any couple. It's tough."

Noah's arm came around me and he kissed my head. "It helps to have such a great girlfriend though," he said pointedly at Jake.

Lee cleared his throat. I looked over at him, he had something to say and he was nervous about it.

"With that being said I actually have an announcement to make," he said, wringing his hands together.

Rachel smiled at him; I immediately felt a pang of jealousy knowing she knew the news before I did.

"Oh my god is Rachel pregnant?" Jake feigned shock.

"No!" she yelled slapping Jake's shoulder as he laughed.

"You're proposing," Noah chimed in smirking.

Lee rolled his eyes, "You first big brother," he shot back. Noah tensed at the thought and I blushed. Way too soon.

"Lee shut up!" I scolded, the table laughing at our expense.

He smiled apologetically, "Anyways," he said, "I may have sent in some applications to some East Cost schools at the beginning of the year," he looked at me pointedly but didn't say anything.

I still hadn't told Noah about what schools I had applied to and Lee must've applied after he found out both Rachel and I were entertaining ideas out there.

"And I wasn't too sure about them so I didn't open the letters when they arrived. But when I found out my beautiful girlfriend got into Brown I decided to open the letters for a couple of the schools that had really great Computer Science programs, ANNNDDD," he looked to me for a drumroll. I complied, drumming my hands on the table.

"I got into MIT and DARTMOUTH!" he yelled.

Both colleges were a great option to be close to Rachel for Lee, within 3 hours of driving. But interestingly enough they were also great options to be close to his brother at Harvard and deep down I knew that it meant if chose Harvard... that he would be close to me too.
