Frankie's been having a hard time lately and you want to help cheer him up by taking him on a long drive

Poor Frankie. He's just having a bad week so far. But today seemed like it was the worse.
You hold your guy and just stroke his hair and back. Frankie shifts around next to you and groans softly.
"I'm here, Frankie," you whisper, as you hold him.
"Damn, it's a damn awful week!" Frankie abruptly slides down on the couch and covers himself with a blanket. You tuck him in.
"I'm not a damn baby," Frankie growls.
"I never said anything of the sort."
Frankie sighs heavily as he pulls you closer to him and you snuggle against him.
"How about we go away somewhere, far from here for a few hours?"
Frankie mulls that offer over for a while.
"That doesn't sound terrible, chica."
"We don't have to go if you don't want to."
"No, I think I'd like to get the hell away from here for a while."
You gently kiss Frankie and trace your fingers over his weathered face.
"Okay. I'll get everything together for us to head out." Frankie grinned, looking more like his usual happy self.
"I'll be ready whenever you are, baby."

You collected everything that you thought you and Frankie might need for a short road trip.
You drag the old, red cooler out, clean it up and load it up with several beers, some different types of sandwich fixings and some iced tea.
Then you load up some pillows and some blankets and your portable stereo.
You go and get Frankie and ask him if he's ready to head out.
"I'm really." You practically jump into his arms and Frankie lifts you up and gives you a big kiss. You grin.
"Let's go, hot stuff."

You've been driving for almost two hours before finally stopping at a beautiful lake.
Frankie helps you unload everything and you go and find a nice spot to relax for a while.

After you eat some good food and relax, Frankie talks you into going for a swim in the lake.
It's a beautiful, sunny day and not too hot or cold. Frankie's in a much better mood, too, and it makes you happy to see him laughing and joking around and teasing you.
You swim closer to Frankie and cling to him for a bit. Frankie leans in, gently capturing your lips with his.
You smooth his wet, dark hair away from his face and slowly began gently kissing him all over his face.
"This was the perfect suggestion, Y/N," Frankie murmurs. You smile.
"I'm just happy that you're acting more like yourself, Frankie. I hate seeing you so upset and worn down."
"I know, it hasn't been easy on you, either, when I get that way."
"Hey, I don't care. I know it's the work you're pissed off about and not at me."
"You're awesome, baby. Really." Frankie kisses you again.
"Can we stay here a while longer?"
"I think that sounds like an excellent idea."

You and Frankie stay at the lake for another hour and then decide to hit the road and head for back home.
You crank up the radio in Frankie's old jeep and sing along with the songs that come on.
Halfway home, Frankie starts to join in. You grin, happiness flooding through your body.
This is the Frankie that you love do much and fell hard for. Frankie's not a bad singer, either. Maybe he's not super great at it, but he's definitely not horrible.
Once you reach home, Frankie helps you unload and then asks you if maybe you'd like to join him for a hot, relaxing shower.
You kiss him deeply and press up against his tall, lean frame.
"That also sounds like a excellent idea, Morales."
Frankie grins.
"I'm happy you agree."

After you take a nice, hot shower, you and Frankie cuddle in bed and you slowly start to drift off.
"Maybe we can do this again sometime soon?"
"That would be great." Frankie kisses your forehead and you smile.
You mentally pat yourself on the back. This was definitely a win for you and Frankie.
