So, as the title suggests, this is Hermitcraft and other MCYT characters, and a sprinkle of OCs, but it's among us. This is also the first time I'll be showing my self-insert/persona, Jacaranda. Since this is Among Us, it has TWs. TWs: Murder (Not Permadeath), Blood, Censored F-bombs, Cringe OCs, Ghosts, Possession, and (at this point) Minor Gore. TWs may change in later parts as the weirdness continues.
Grian was really trying his hardest to think of a minigame to start chaos. It had been too long since Secret Fools' and he was getting bored. It just didn't feel like the right time for the next iteration of Tag, though. He looked around Spawn Town to find inspiration. He saw a tiny statue that somebody had made. It really just looked like a blob with legs.
That was the inspiration that Grian needed. He would build Among Us on Hermitcraft. He flew off to find Mumbo, to tell him all about the great idea.
"MUMBOOOOO JUMBOOO!!!!!!!!" Grian shouted, coming to a landing.
"Oh, hi Grian," Mumbo said, nonplussed.
"I have just had the greatest idea in the history of all ideas!" Grian bounced around excitedly.
"Are you going to tell me this idea or just keep pretending to be a kangaroo?" Mumbo asked.
"Rude!" Grian playfully sighed, then finally said, "I'm going to make Among Us on Hermitcraft. And you are going to help me with the redstone, because I would somehow explode something."
"How would you even play Among Us?"
"Well, first we build the ship and make it look super cool, and some redstone stuff for the tasks, then we play Among Us! We can secretly draw straws to see who gets Impostor, then we play and the Impostor tries to kill everyone before getting voted off. We'll just respawn, so it'll be fine! We could even play multiple times, depending on how long each round lasts."
"How long do rounds last?"
"Depending on how easy and quick everything is, somewhere between an hour, and 11 months."
"WHAT!?"
"Not that long. I just really wanted to make that reference."
"So, how long would it actually be?"
"Like 5 minutes to a week?"
"That still might be a while."
"Well, we tell everybody that before we play."
"Who's going to all play?" Mumbo asked. "It might take 11 months if we have every hermit."
"Err... I guess whoever wants to play can play. I was actually kinda hoping to invite some friends from other servers."
"Like who?"
"Most of them were on Last Life. There are also a few who just finished a super-long roleplay called Outsiders. And maybe I could invite Tommy and some of his friends, just for extra chaos."
"WHY would you want to invite TOMMY?"
"I could invite his mom, too."
"Ugh. Your sister is almost as annoying as her kid."
"I could invite my other sister, too."
"Your other sister? I thought you only had one."
"You've met Ariana."
"I thought that was just you in drag."
Grian burst out laughing. "She was actually Poultry Man, too. Twins are the best people to have pretend to be your secret alter-ego!"
Mumbo facepalmed, sighing. "Your family is chaotic."
"Ooh, I should invite some people from Ariana's server, too."
"Just how many people are we inviting?"
"Uh.... Let me count," Grian muttered numbers and counted on his fingers. "Lots. Lots of people, because not everybody is going to agree to play a murder game."
"That is true."
💮
3 weeks, 16 hours of building, 8 hours of redstone, 78 phone calls, 32 rejected invites, and lots of stressing later, the Among Us minigame was complete and ready to be played. 26 players stood in a circle outside the entrance. The game itself was entirely contained within a mountain someplace east of the Soup Group's megabases. The entrance was reminiscent of the copper spaceship that Scar had built over the Boatem Hole last season.
The only person in the circle who recognised every single other player was Grian. He was standing closest to the door, ready to speak. He took a second to make sure everybody was here from the person on his left, all the way around the circle, to the person on his right. Mumbo, Scar, Tango, Iskall, Doc, Ren, Gem, Pearl, False, Cleo, Joel, Lizzie, Shelby, Scott, Owen, Soup, Jacaranda, Splash, Kelp, Jade, Viv, Ariana, Tommy, Ranboo, and Ellen. Everybody was here. Grian couldn't be more relieved that nobody had started an argument yet. Wait- nope. There it was.
"Jacaranda, I bet you're going to die first," Splash said.
"WHa- Splash!" Jacaranda flipped her long blue hair. "First of all, Scar is going to die first, but only because Jimmy isn't here. Second of all, you don't get an opinion because you're short."
Tommy heard this and started laughing. "Who do you think is shorter, Splash or my uncle?"
"HEY! I'M NOT SHORT!" This came from Splash, though Grian shared the sentiment.
Kelp literally lifted Splash up. "I think you're short. Sorry."
"Hey-" Shelby said. "Quit arguing, besides, I'm the shortest one here."
This prompted Scott to lift her up, which caused her to bite him. "OW! Rude."
"You deserved that," Joel said.
"EVERYBODY," Grian shouted. "Please be quiet. We're going to play Among Us now. I'm gonna shuffle these cards and hand them out. If you get one with a red dot, you are an Impostor." Grian did just that.
6 people in the circle got a card with a dot. 6 people were good actors. 6 people's eyes widened imperceptibly. 6 people gasped oh so quietly. 6 people changed, in ways that even the people who set this up didn't know.
💮
The group sat at the table. There was a button in the center that could bring them all there in an instant. Grian handed out lists of tasks. Everyone got similar, but not the same. The Impostors wouldn't be doing the tasks, of course, but the list was useful for faking.
"So, let's go, I guess?" Grian said, and the crew of the "ship" all got up, to find their bearings, to do tasks, or to rest.
Hours went by. I really had no clue what to do, since I was an Impostor. The other Impostors must have either been as indecisive as I am, or they did a good job hiding the bodies. I ducked out of my room, and saw nobody else in the hallway. This hallway isn't in the normal game, but it was necessary because this game could take days. I walked through the hallway, and eventually ended up near the Medbay.
I saw the perfect opportunity to get a kill, Scar was doing some wires in the corner. I pulled out my dagger, but he turned around. Crap, I can't hide it quick enough!
"Hi, Jacaranda!" Scar said, surprising me. He saw the dagger, right?
"Uh, hi?" I said, confused.
"You can put that away, I got Impostor, too!" He giggled.
"You could be lying, I know you're a conman."
"If I was a Crewmate, would these wires still not be fixed?" Scar gestured to the panel on the wall. Sure enough, it didn't look like he had touched them.
"Dang it, okay, do you want to go get a double kill?" I said, realizing too late that there was someone else standing in the doorway. "Oh, you BLOB of TREE SAP!"
"Was that- was that meant to be swearing?" Doc asked.
"So what? It's more creative!"
"But swear words are fuuunnnn," Scar whined.
"Scar, stop whining about swear words and maybe think about the fact that we ALREADY got caught as Impostors?" I snapped.
"Chill, if literally anyone else had walked past just now, then you'd be in trouble," Doc said.
"Oh," Scar said. "See, Jacaranda, it's fine."
"We are some EXTREMELY lucky people, then," I said. "I'm going back to my room, I'm already sick of this." With that, I trudged back to my room and flopped on the bed.
💮
VWOOP! Everyone was suddenly sitting around the chairs again. Almost everyone, me included, looked a little nauseous from the sudden teleportation. I heard a laugh.
"Oh, that didn't work. That's creepy. Mumbo, your redstone is terrifying."
I followed his gaze and saw a corpse sitting upright in her chair, a ghost standing behind, glaring at Scar. Was Scar another Impostor? Why else would Gem be so angry?
"It's not my fault the teleporter can teleport dead people," I said indignantly, hoping I hadn't been looking too sus(tainable) just now.
Gem was scribbling something down on a notepad. She tore the page off and dropped it on the table. It suddenly stopped looking so ghostly, and the Crewmates all jumped a little. Splash picked up the paper and read it. "It sounds like she's wondering how long she will be a ghost for?" They said, "Except with some more interesting language."
"Until the game is done," Grian said.
I could hear quiet grumbling from Gem, but nobody else could hear her, or would indicate it, at least.
"So, should we, like, actually try to figure this out?" Iskall asked. "I know, what a weird thing to do in Among Us."
A lady with dark hair and purple dragon wings spoke up. "I found her just inside Medbay, if that helps. I didn't see anyone but Kelp nearby."
Another woman with dark skin, hot pink hair, and a robotic arm said, "You sure you two didn't kill her, Viv?"
A woman with green hair grabbed Viv's hand protectively. "Jade, you know she wouldn't be the impostor, besides, I was with Viv the whole time." This must be Kelp, then.
A person with long purple hair raised their hand. "Can we do introductions? That never really happened and I don't know who most of these people are."
Grian facepalmed. "Of course. The one thing I forgot to do, actually make sure everybody knows each other. Yep, we can do introductions. As you all hopefully know, because I invited you, I'm Grian."
Grian looked at me, I was next. "I'm Mumbo," I said.
"I'm Scar."
"Tango."
"Iskall."
"Doc."
"I'm Ren."
"I'm Pearl, and that's Gem," Pearl said, gesturing to said corpse. The ghost looked to be fuming that we were doing introductions and not trying to solve the mystery of her death.
"I'm False."
"Cleo."
"I am JOEL!"
"I'm Lizzie."
"Hi, I'm Shelby."
"I am Scott."
"I'm Owen," A guy with brown hair with an orange streak said.
"I'm Eloise, but I'm usually called Soup," A woman with blonde hair, wearing a cat ear headband, said.
"Hello, I'm Jacaranda," A girl with long, blue hair, brown cat ears, and white wings said.
"I'm Splash."
"I'm Kelp!"
"Vivienne."
"Hello, I am Jade."
"I'm Arianaaaa!"
"I'M TOMMY!!!!!"
"My name is Ranboo."
"I'm Ellen," The purple-haired person said.
A/N: I only put descriptions for the characters the POV character doesn't know, characters that haven't already been described, and for characters that you might not know of. The characters of these that are OCs are: Jacaranda, Jade, Kelp, Vivienne, and Splash. If you need a description for one of the other characters, ask in the comments.
"Great, now," Grian said. "Can we try to solve the murder?"
"That would be absolutely f**king WONDERFUL, thank you," Jacaranda said, before passing out. I saw Gem standing next to her, smiling.
"Uh, she doesn't normally swear like that, does she?" Scar asked, looking worried.
"No, that's concerning," Jade answered.
Pearl's eyes narrowed. "Gem, did you just possess her?"
"MAYBE I DID!" Soup shouted suddenly. "MAYBE I'M MAD THAT I DIED FIRST! I NEVER WANTED TO PLAY THIS STUPID F**KING GAME, PEARL! YOU MADE ME! AND THE STAB WOUND STILL HURTS!" Soup passed out, too. Gem glared at everyone, before disappearing.
"Grian," Scott asked. "Can you change around some settings so Gem can respawn, she seems pretty upset,"
Grian fiddled around on his communicator for a bit. "There, I changed it so ghosts respawn at the end of the meetings. Happy?" I could see Gem nodding grumpily, and noticed Doc looking in that direction as well. Was he also an impostor?
"Since nobody else has been possessed," Grian said. "I'm going to assume it's fine."
"I'm surprised Scar isn't the one who died first," Joel said jokingly, "Maybe he did it."
Gem's ghost looked shocked, then nodded. All living people, myself and Scar included, laughed it off. If it was true that Scar killed Gem, then he was on my team.
"Alright," Grian stood up. "Since it looks like nobody actually knows anything, the meeting is adjourned."
Both physical, dead Gem, and ghost Gem vanished, probably respawning in a bed at home.
"Huh?" Jacaranda said, waking up. "Sorry, I zoned out. Did I miss the end of the meeting? Did we figure anything out?"
"No," Scott answered. "You and Soup both got possessed by Gem, though. You said the F word."
"Oh, no! Dang it!" Jacaranda looked grumpy.
"Seriously?!" Soup asked rhetorically. Several people nodded anyways.
As everybody wandered off again, I went to tap Scar on the shoulder. He turned around, looking slightly scared.
"Scar, I need to talk to you. Alone," I whispered.
"Okay, sure," He sounded unsure.
Scar followed me to Electrical, which only strengthened my theory. We ducked behind the partition in the center of the room.
"Scar, did you kill Gem?"
"What? No. What would make you think that?" He was a bad liar.
"Scar, you don't need to lie. I am also an Impostor. And if my theory is wrong, look where we are."
"I'm lucky you're right then. Gosh, how many Impostors are there?"
"I think, about 6?"
"Okay, so we know of 4."
"Me, you, and who else? Doc, maybe?"
"Yeah. How'd you figure that out?"
"He was staring at the ghost. Maybe it would be a good idea to not look at things only Impostors can see. Also, you said 4. Who else?"
"A hurricane."
I thought for a moment who that could be. Wait- Jade's full username is Jadehurricane. "Jade is an Impostor?"
"Not as far as I know."
"Then who were you talking about?!"
Scar started singing. Of course. "A hurricane of Jacarandas!"
"Oh," I sighed. "Your clue was really ambiguous. Who do you think the other two could be?"
"I dunno. Cleo was acting kinda shifty."
"Kinda shifty isn't enou-" I was cut off by Jacaranda showing up.
"Oh, hi! Scar, is Mumbo an Impostor, or do we need to kill him, too?"
"I'm an Impostor," I said. "Wait- TOO?"
"Yes, too."
It was at that moment that I realised Jacaranda was dragging a dead body.
"OH, GOSH!" Scar exclaimed. "Who even is that?"
I couldn't tell, either. The person's face was covered by a plastic bag. "Jacaranda, just wondering, how old are you?"
"I'm somewhere between immature and a teenager."
"That is altogether too young to have suffocated someone. Whose dead body are you dragging into Electrical?"
"Shelby, duh. She's the only person small enough for me to actually be able to move the body."
"Why are you acting like that was obvious?" Scar asked, then got distracted. "Oh look, a ghost!"
The ghost of Shelby was sitting perched atop the partition, looking down at us. She didn't look angry, she was just watching. "You three should break up the sus party. Hide my body and leave! Or do a self report and say that you found me when you were grouping for safety during tasks. Either way, make it so a meeting happens soon, being a ghost is boring." With that, Shelby's ghost floated off to bother someone else, leaving us as three Impostors and a corpse.
"Shelby had the right idea, let's stop being hecking sus." Jacaranda said. This girl's personality really does shift on a dime, doesn't it?
I heard a quiet "Eep!" from the other side of the partition. A crewmate had heard us! I ran to the other side and saw Tango.
"Sorry, eavesdropping means death!" I pulled out my dagger and tackled him. He tried to fight me off, and probably would have succeeded, had Scar not come to my aid. We dragged him behind the partition and fatally injured him. It took a disturbing amount of time before Tango's ghost appeared. He tried his hardest to yell at us, but in his ghost form, his killing injury was still there. Even demon ghosts can't talk with a slit throat, after all.

This ended up very long and I felt like I needed to end it here, on a dead Tango. There will be a part 2, and likely more. Don't get mad if your fave died, or if you think the Impostor choices are stupid, because I'm using a randomiser for decisions on who exactly does a lot of things. This whole thing may be cringe, especially the dialogue, but at least I'm getting dialogue practice?
