THIRD PERSON'S POV

AT THE PRIVATE BAR
4:30 pm

"Seriously, that girl is playing hard to get!" the man exclaimed, frustration evident on his face.

"Hey, relax man. Maybe you're just moving too quickly," his friend (#1) casually remarked.

"Well, what did you expect? You barely know her and she barely knows you. Women aren't objects, you know. Just because they look attractive and you have the means to pursue them doesn't mean they're easily attainable," his friend (#2) chimed in, shaking his head in disbelief.

The man let out a sigh of frustration.

"Did anyone see what happened?" friend (#1) inquired.

"No, not even her," he replied, resting his head on the couch and taking a sip of his beer. His friends looked at him with confusion.

"I followed her into the library, where it was just the two of us. Without giving her a chance to see me, I quickly covered her eyes with my handkerchief. However, she fought back, resisting my advances. She acted as though she didn't want it. Eventually, her screams became too much, and I had no choice but to stop and leave" the man said.

Upon hearing this disturbing account, one of the man's friends expressed his disbelief, saying, "You know, man, you're crazy." The other friend nodded in agreement, clearly in disbelief by the man's actions.

Despite their reactions, the man only laughed, seemingly unaffected by their disbelief.

With a chilling confidence, the man declared, "I will get what I want. It's not good to leave your food unfinished, right? I will return and finish what I started."

JENNIE'S POV

Finally, our last class has come to an end. We're now heading towards the basketball center to catch a glimpse of the basketball practice. Kai and his friends are part of the basketball team, and they kindly invited us to witness their skills in action. You might be wondering why they're already practicing on the first day of the academic year. Well, it's because they're determined to secure a championship this year. YG INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY excels in almost everything, except for basketball. Unfortunately, the basketball team has been unable to secure a single championship for the past two years. That's precisely why Kai and his teammates are putting in their utmost effort to turn things around.

"Are you showing your support for him, Wifey?" Chipmunk playfully teased.

"Well, if you're coming with us, maybe you're also supporting Mark?" I teased her right back.

Mark started pursuing her about five months ago, if I remember correctly. But of course, being best friends, we both have the same reason. The only difference is that she's not ready to jump into another relationship just yet. And honestly, if she ever decides to give it a shot, I don't think Mark stands a chance against her. Haha, just being honest here. As for me, I'm not ready either, considering that our breakup is still fresh in my part. But I'm not ruling out the possibility of giving Kai a chance. I just need some time to heal first.

"Do I really have a choice? You're here, so I'm here with you too," Rosie defended herself.

We finally arrived at the basketball center and took a seat on the bench.

"Don't tell me you're dating Kai's friends too?" Irene asked, pointing towards Nayeon and Sana.

The two shook their heads, denying any romantic involvement.

"No, absolutely not! Just because we treat each other like sisters doesn't mean we have to date guys from the same circle of friends," Nayeon sassily replied to Irene.

"Hey! As if Sehun isn't trying to win you over, Bae!" Sana chimed in this time.

"Oh, really? I wasn't aware of that. Is Sehun actually courting me?" Irene questioned them, although Sehun hadn't explicitly mentioned anything about courting her. He had only shown his admiration towards Irene.

Nayeon and Sana fell silent.

"See?" Irene shook her head and clicked her tongue, feeling disappointed with the two. "It's like you don't even know me, huh?" She glared at them, crossed her arms over her chest, and slumped back on the bench.

Sana and Nayeon were about to approach Irene when Kai and his friends suddenly joined us.

"Hey girls, hey there, pretty," Kai greeted us with a smile.

"Hi, My Rosé," Mark approached Rosie, ready to put his arm around her shoulder, but Irene quickly pulled my hubby towards her.

"Hey, you're not allowed to do that. Remember? I laid down the rules in exchange for my blessings for you to court our Chipmunk. You better follow them, or else I'll have her stop you from pursuing her," Irene warned him.

Yeah, Irene has been setting rules for anyone who wants to court us, but I'm not sure if she did the same with Kai. Well, she's like the mother of our group, so it's expected of her to be protective like this.

"Mark, better follow the rules or else their mother will unleash her wrath upon you!" Baekhyun playfully taunted, laughing hysterically.

Oh, Baekhyun, do you really want to subject yourself to emotional turmoil again?

" Yeah, you should listen to your Grandpa, Mark. He will look uglier I mean older if you will not gonna listen to him and be a pain in his ass" Irene smiled innocently, adding to the emotional damage that Baekhyun will take.

"And hey, remember, you can't use your mouth when Irene's around. It's like playing with fire, my friend. You'll only end up getting burned!" I chimed in, and we all erupted into fits of laughter.

Needless to say, Baekhyun wisely chose to keep his mouth shut. After all, who wants to mess with their emotional well-being?

"Hey, by the way, thanks for being here," Kai turned towards me.

He didn't need to thank me, though. When we entered the basketball center, we barely paid any attention to their practice. The girls were too busy teasing each other, and I was just there, listening to their banter.

So, Kai, you don't have to thank me because we didn't exactly focus on your practice. I talked to myself mentally.

Okay, that might sound a bit snarky. My sassy side tends to take over sometimes. But I won't voice it out loud, or else Kai might lose sleep for a week.

"No, Kai, you don't have to thank me," I replied, offering him a smile.

"No, seriously, thank you," he insisted, flashing his biggest smile. I sighed in defeat.

*COUGH
*COUGH
*COUGH

I mentally rolled my eyes at their fake coughing. I redirected my attention back to them.

"I guess you're finally done with your practice. Can we go now? I'm starving," Rosie exclaimed.

As always, Rosie. AS ALWAYS.

"I swear, you're always hungry. Just say the word, and I'll be your personal 24/7 food provider. If I become your boyfriend, you'll never go hungry again," Mark lovingly gazed at Rosie as he uttered those words.

"Are you some kind of 7/11, open 24/7?" Sana quipped, chuckling.

"Maybe he's a delivery boy from Food Panda. They deliver food 24/7," Nayeon chimed in, joining the laughter.

"Boys will be boys. All talk and no action," Irene bitterly remarked.

It's becoming clear that she's not a fan of boys.

"Not all of us, Irene," Kai responded, looking at me with genuine sincerity in his eyes.

"Let's wait and see," Irene mumbled.

"Excuse me, lovely ladies and handsome gentlemen, I know you're having a blast here, but can I have a word with you, Kai? And you four, head back over there. I'll talk to you as well," Mr. Lee, the basketball coach, interjected.

"Yes, coach, just give us a minute," Kai replied.

"Alright, hurry up," Mr. Lee walked back to where the other players were.

"Um, maybe we won't be able to drop you home today. How about tomorrow?" Kai asked.

"No, it's fine. You don't need to. Besides, we can all ride together in one car," I reassured him, letting him know it was okay.

"Okay, just make sure to stay safe. Text me once you're home," he kissed my cheek and waved goodbye. His friends followed suit.

"You're not even officially together, and he's already kissing you," Sana raised her eyebrow.

Her tone seems to be stating, but her facial expression gives off a questioning vibe.

"It's just on the cheek. It's not a big deal. You can do that with your friends too," I casually replied. And it's true, after all.

"Shall we start walking then, to make it to the parking lot? This campus is huge, and that chipmunk might transform into a monster before we even get there," Nayeon suggested, pointing at the grumpy-looking chipmunk.

"Alright, let's go," I said, giving Rosie a sweet smile and urging the others to start walking.

Rosie is beyond furious now. Is she really that hungry? Like, extremely famished? Aish. I swear there's a beast lurking inside her.

TZUYU'S POV

Once again, the first day of school proved to be dreadfully dull. When will the school ever consider changing its tradition for the start of the academic year? Especially now that we're in our third year. It felt like all we did was go from one class to another, introducing ourselves repeatedly. I understand the importance of getting to know new students, like myself, in each class.

But seriously, is there no other way than to awkwardly stand in the middle of the room and share about ourselves, only to be met with the professor's predictable response of, 'Okay class, since it's our first day, we have nothing to do. Just start getting to know each other and have fun. Prepare for our class tomorrow. See you.'

I let out a mental sigh as I recalled these all-too-familiar words from various professors. It almost felt like they were following a script.

"They're just wasting our time," I muttered under my breath.

"Who?" Seulgi turned her head to look at me, curious.

"I'm sure Chewy is referring to those professors who did nothing but make us introduce ourselves in every class, using the same words like it's a rehearsed script," Lisa explained, all in one breath.

This monkey knows me too well.

"We went through the same thing," Jeongyeon chimed in.

"I guess our first day is going to end up being boring. Nothing out of the ordinary," Seulgi remarked.

Is she secretly hoping for something exciting to happen?

"You know what? It's no big deal. Not every first of our lives has to be memorable or extraordinary," Jisoo said with a positive outlook.

Jisoo is truly Jisoo, always finding the positive in every negative situation.

"OUCH! What the heck! What was th-- Shit! Ouch!" We all turned our attention to Jeongyeon, who was clutching the back of her head in pain.

Jisoo, Lisa, and Seulgi rushed over to her side. As I glanced behind us, I noticed five other girls making their way towards us.

"Hey, Yeon, are you okay?" Jisoo asked, gently examining Jeongyeon's head.

"Let us have a look, Yeon," Seulgi said, guiding Jeongyeon's hand away to assess the injury.

"OH MY GRACIOUS GOD! I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to hit you!" exclaimed the girl with bunny teeth, rushing towards us.

I suddenly remembered her! She's the girl with a voice that could rival a megaphone. The same scandalous woman I encountered at the airport. I also saw her earlier in the cafeteria, and now we're in the same class.

"Oh my God, what did you do, Nayeon?!" exclaimed her dwarf... I mean, her smallest friend, with a panicked expression.

"I was just kicking some stones. I didn't mean to kick it with so much force and hit her," explained the loud woman.

"Do your legs have a mind of their own? You clearly intended to put some force into that kick," Lisa remarked with a serious tone.

"But she didn't mean to hit your friend," defended the girl with feline eyes, referring to her loud friend.

Ah, she's the girl who had a staring contest with our Lisa.

Lisa turned her head towards the girl and locked eyes with her feline gaze.

"She should learn to explain herself properly next time," Lisa muttered.

That's Lisa, she notices every little detail, literally in everything. The feline girl only diverts her attention to Jeongyeon.

"Hey, I'm sorry for what happened. My friend kicked the stone with force, BUT SHE DIDN'T MEAN TO HIT YOU," she apologized, emphasizing the last seven words. Yeah, I counted that.

"We are really sorry," the girl who looks foreign also apologized.

I think she's not Korean, maybe Japanese.

"Be careful next time. You can kick all the stones you see in your way, but don't kick them as if the stone snatched your favorite ice cream," Seulgi said, gently caressing the back of Jeongyeon's head. I think she got hit pretty hard.

"The stone may not hurt from your kick, but it can hurt someone once it lands on them," Jisoo said, addressing the loud woman.

"YAH! That's why I apologized, and I didn't mean to hurt her!" The bunny exclaimed.

Wow, this girl still dares to shout at us after what happened.

"Nayeon, you can talk to her without raising your voice," their smallest friend scolded Nayeon.

"Maybe you wanted us to take your friend to the nearest hospital?" the Japanese girl offered.

"I'm the one who got hit by the stone in the head, but I'm fine, thanks. I think your friend is the one who needs to go to the hospital," Jeongyeon finally spoke, rejecting the offer and pointing at Nayeon.

They seemed confused, but we all knew what Jeongyeon was thinking.

"Huh? What do you mean?" the girl with feline eyes asked, clearly puzzled.

Lisa, Jisoo, Seulgi, and I all maintained poker faces, but I could tell they were fighting back laughter, knowing exactly what was going through Jeongyeon's mind.

"I did get hit in the head, yeah. But I think your friend is the one who's got some damage in her head, not me. You should take her to the doctor," Jeongyeon calmly explained to them.

"YAH!! WHAT DO YOU MEAN, HUH?!" the fuming loud woman asked, seemingly about to approach Jeongyeon, but her Japanese friend stopped her.

"Yah! Nayeonshi, calm your ass down," her Japanese friend muttered, holding her back.

"Don't take it seriously, she's just joking," the girl with feline eyes said, holding the loud woman's other arm to prevent her from advancing.

"We should go now. I apologize again for what happened. Let's go, girls," the tallest one spoke, helping her three friends to drag the angry loud woman away.

Oh, I thought she couldn't speak. She's so quiet, the complete opposite of her loud friend.

"You still have time to argue with them! What are you, a child? You could have simply apologized to them and ignored whatever they would say. They have every right to react that way since their friend got hurt. But you, Nayeon, acted so childish and even shouted at them! Aish! While you were busy exchanging words with them, I was dying of hunger over there! What kind of sisters are you?! I could have died, you know!" we heard the tallest one scolding her friends.

"I thought she was fine compared to them because she was so quiet earlier. But she's dramatic too," Lisa said, shaking her head in disbelief.

"Maybe she's really hungry? Like she hasn't eaten in weeks or months to be that mad at her friends," Jisoo pondered, shrugging her shoulders.

"Is it even possible to survive for a whole month or even a week without eating anything?" a curious bear asked.

"Come on! That's impossible. She's probably just overreacting," I chimed in, with Lisa nodding in agreement.

"Oh, I remember the loud woman too," Lisa said, slipping her hands into her jacket pockets.

"Yeah, she was the one we saw at the airport, right?" Jisoo asked.

We all nodded, confirming it for her.

"She may look like a bunny, but she's as loud as a whiny pig who hasn't eaten," Jeongyeon remarked, stating the obvious.

She's just too loud.

We couldn't hold back our laughter any longer.

"Seems like every first day is destined to have some unfortunate event," I mused, reflecting on the eventful day we had experienced.
