Personality - Iris is cheerful, energetic and confident. She's also known for being adventurous, carefree, sarcastic and bright young lady. She is arguably the most flippant, carefree and adventurous member of her team, frequently making a sarcastic comments and jokes Even in the heat of battle and often taking combat and hostile situations slightly.
Although Iris had matured quite a bit at this young age until she kept on growing up. She might be a joker that she loves jokes and puns but she was not as much of a joker for other times and took things a bit more seriously.
Iris is very sociable and extroverted, even in unfamiliar situations. Iris' love of adventure is the main reason that she decided to become a ninja and vigilante, just like her parents. Nari considers Iris the personification of the word "strength". According to Jade, she snores loudly, but other than that Jade also mentioned that Iris used to read stories to her before bed when they were younger besides Jade's parents.
However, Iris' "brawler" fighting style is evocative of her personality as her mother's. Her anger, one of her main assets in battle, can lead her to act predictably and has to put her into danger repeatedly. She was easily frustrated when she couldn't land a hit on the twins and could not attack precisely because of it, leading to her getting knocked unconscious and almost killed. Iris is also very protective of her hair, becoming enraged when someone touches or rips or cuts even a small portion of her hair, causing her to attack with straight, blunt force the one who did it. However, she is comfortable with letting Nari, Mei, Jade, Artemis and April touch or brush her hair or even use it to toy with her hair by tickling Mei's nose. According to Splinter, she shares a most flaw of her mother but some of her aunt and grandmother: thinking strength is all that matters in a fight. Her thoughtless anger also led to a quick loss by getting very bad injuries in a battle after during the final battle of the Shredder and during that time when she, Mr. Hope, Mei and Nari lost their own home the second time and same goes, from the same day for what happens when she, Nari, Jade and Artemis lost the Residence by Blaze and the Dark Eclipse. While recovering from her injuries, Splinter lectures her about this weakness and guides her in what she needs to do to start overcoming it along with her flaw that she mostly shares with her mother's side of the family, just like how her mother did.
Despite this, Iris is quite mature. She is extremely nurturing and motherly, particularly toward Jade. Iris pushes her into being outgoing and also worries a great deal about Jade across the many battles they fight in. This protective and encouraging nature extends to Jade, April, Turtles, Splinter, Casey, Artemis, Nari and others as well. Iris is worried about Nari on several occasions, such as when she runs from school and when she suffers from sleep and appetite problems, opening Iris to discussing her stubborn past to Leo and Raph. What Iris does not reveal is that she suffers from abandonment issues, blaming herself for not sticking around with her parents and for her aunt not sticking around.
Iris is also quite guile as she was able to teach Splinter on how to play royal flush by explaining to him how to use his cards in the game only to better trick Splinter into getting random cards but only to be struck down by her own loss, being defeated by Splinter. She later used to find a way to attract Nari so they would be able to talk and then even tricked a bandit into revealing the location of Yin's camp. She is also perspicacious when she saw through her on the facade and attempt to manipulate her into staying with the tribe during their first meeting, recognized her in corvid form and quickly deduced that her aunt was the maiden and had killed the former maiden and the Silver-eyed warrior.
However, after being betrayed by Jasper, James, Blaze, Namar and Karai, when Iris and the others were badly wounded from the final battle of the Shredder, having her right broken arm and having her second home being destroyed along with the Residence Academy while for her, Nari, Artemis, her friends at the Academy, the turtles and Splinter were all being ambushed, lost Leo, Pyro, Artemis, Professor Broom and Nari for different reasons, Iris sunk into a reclusive depression, she gives everyone the cold shoulder and even outright ignores Raph when he confesses to her. Over days, weeks, Iris rebounds from this reclusive nature.
Though she suffers from PTSD, she tries to keep moving forward, partially for everyone's sake when feeling she holds them back. After over hearing Splinter, Mei, Mr. Hope, April and Casey talking about Leo and Jade outside of her spare bedroom in the lair, she accepts the earlier wisdom of Splinter and starting to get back up.
When training, she learns how to balance her driven and positive nature without overconfidence or agitation. She changes to a new outfit and headed to find her aunt where she had her other family although Splinter believes she has not overcome her personality flaws. Fortunately, she has shown not to be as quick to blind anger and come back anymore and now fights displaying good strategy and intelligence as seen with her rematch and when she fought. While traveling to find her aunt to reunite with her other families, she continues to struggle for PTSD, which manifests her left arm shaking when she encounters stress. She, however, appears to have overcome it sometime after she and the others reluctantly defeated the Dark Eclipse.
Iris is extremely sensitive about being abandoned and her "simmering anger" stems from these abandonment issues. For the better part of nearly two decades, Iris spent her life searching for aunt after she found out about what happened to her parents, trying to understand her reasons for leaving. Their first reunion also demonstrated how low her opinion was of Yin, reacting with anger after Yin said that Iris finally decided to visit her, making it sound like she was the one responsible for aunt not being part of her life. She even ignored Yin's attempts at lightning the mood and become hostile upon her actual family, adoptive family and her friends being insulted.
Despite her fear of the White Bone Demon, Tengu Shredder, Ravenna, the other witches, other creatures and Utrom Shredder, she was still strongly willing to continue fighting against them and to take the relic of knowledge, despite knowing that in may put a target on her back. Even after learning about everything what her enemies and knowing that they weren't the match for her, Iris still went against them in order to allow to protect everyone and did not hesitate to call them out on her actions. She also has a good degree of heroism and selflessness, being willing to takes the attacks from the enemy and from the twins to protect her family respectfully and even attacked White Bone Demon and Tengu Shredder to save Nari and Karai despite her enmity and distrust for Karai's actions.
She has in an opposition to keeping secrets. She had Artemis' parents, Athena's parents, Macaque, Splinter and the Ancient One swear not to lie or tell half-truths and later, she is upset for keeping all the nature of the gems and the ninja tribunal a secret from the group as well as covering up the treacheries. Despite her staunchness towards half-truths, she is not above telling some herself.
Iris hardens herself in order to prepare for the overwhelming situation that they were in. She was hurt by what had happened and wanted to do whatever she could to help them, hinting at her reason for criticizing Jade and Leo.
Despite her good qualities, Iris has that tendency to deflect. She deflects blame by criticizing Jade and Leo's leaderships and responsibilities despite the fact that it was due to by after what happened to everything they all go through, through the good times and the bad times. Iris avoids the direct criticisms and tries to deflect by doing everything she could. Finally, she sheepishly deflected responsibility for her part in worsening Jade and Leo's mental declines, simply stating that they shouldn't both have expected themselves to be perfect.
However, unlike her aunt and grandmother and just like her mother, Iris is capable of admitting her wrongs as well as recognizing the qualities of others even when their opinions are different from hers, admitting to Leo that her obsession to search for her aunt nearly got herself killed when she was young and during her discussions with Leo and Jade, she admitted that her own plan didn't work either and even telling them that their own blind optimism weren't a flaw when she believed she wasted time with it as it was a necessity in life.
When Iris' past self offers Iris and opportunity to be whole again by traveling back in time to regain her loss, Iris declines her offer as losing a part of herself is what makes her a stronger person. It shows that Iris already accepts her losses by learning from her mistakes.
Iris felt guilty about putting everything on Leo and Jade's shoulders along with their teammates, she vows to them that from now on, the entirely of all of the team will share the burden and even use the word "boba" as a save word if they ever feel overwhelmed.
Iris has the most of her personalities from her mother but some from her dad.

Iris was raised on the island of Patch, off the west coast of Vale. Her parents and her aunt were the huntsmen and huntresses and they were former members of the teams of her mother's team; Ruby Rose, Weiss Schnee and Blake Belladonna, alongside with her father's team; Zeke Fray, Ben Hunter, Lily Siren, Bree Calavera and Sonya Khan. Her grandfather, Taiyang Xiao Long was a huntsman who taught at Signal Academy and a former member of a team consisting of Summer Rose, Qrow Branwen and Raven Branwen - the last of whom disappeared shortly after her mother and her aunt's birth. Following this, her grandfather became romantically involved with Summer and had Ruby. But however, Iris' grandparents passed away during one of their own missions during in her family's childhoods, having them to suffer for the loss so many.
However, Ruby would frequently embark on huntress mission all over the kingdoms and early in Iris' childhood, she was killed during one. Her parents are having both distraught at losing yet another, suffers an emotional breakdown.
Iris and her family all tried their own best to move on just like they did so many times, Iris grew up happily with her parents and her family, until one day the island was invaded by the evil, power-hungry half demon; Ravenna, who has the mysterious past that nobody should know her secret.
Everyone tries their best to escape from being kidnapped or killed, as her last resort of protecting her daughter as she and Iris who both escaped of the Dark Eclipse, Yang Xiao Long tried to make contact with a woman she knew. They share an emotional goodbye before she was killed by Ravenna and her army. Iris was unconscious until she was found by the Shredder and raised her along with his other adoptive children; Karai, Nari and Macaque.
Iris, Nari, Macaque and Karai have been best friends since they live together and they were trained together.
Years later, when it's Nari's 8th birthday, Iris had discovered and found out the truth. Blake and Iris both saw the scene when the clan of bandits attacks the Foot clan and the Shredder slayed a bandit in front of them. Nari was distracted when she noticed a symbol of the ninja's chest of the uniform long enough to be noticed by the Shredder. The woman, the leader of the clan of bandits took Iris and Nari before ran away as fast as they could as the girls were unconscious until they went to Hope's Noodle shop restaurant where Hope and his daughter both are and the woman disappears without a trace after she puts Nari into the radish basket. Then, the woman went to China and decided to hid Iris somewhere in front of someone else's home and the woman disappears. Sometime later eventually, the owner of the palace named Wilson Oogway Croft with his adoptive son named Tai Lung both soon discovered her and decided to adopted her.
It was then that Iris found out that Ruby Rose was not her biological aunt but a half-aunt and that woman who saved her and that her mother knew that woman was her actual aunt, Yin Branwen, had abandoned her family shortly after her parents' marriage thereafter. Motivated to find out why her aunt left her and her family and why she saved her, one day, Iris attempt to follow up on what she thought was a clue to her aunt's whereabouts and waited until her adoptive father left the house and her adopted brother went on to training and traveled the location herself, walking up until she was bruised and tired.
Upon arriving at the building, they were attacked and almost killed by three hollows. Her adoptive father, thankfully appears just in time to save her. Iris was ashamed of her stubborn, brash actions come aware that she had almost gotten herself and her adoptive family killed and resolved to continue searching for her aunt while helping new family, but also not to allow that search to consume her.
Iris had a wonderful relationship with her new adoptive family, through training, through relationships and all that, all to be part of the family that she missed for a long time since then.
Iris and Tai both had a great relationship as brother and sister, both sharing a bond. They both train together, helped each other, raising each other and so much more. Realizing of seeing his natural and perfect skills in kung fu, better than hers, rather than being jealous of her brother, Iris was so proud of him and believed Tai to be the prophesied warrior, constantly praising her older adoptive snow leopard faunus brother's continuous efforts and apparent skill, thus knowingly boosting Tai's growing pride. When the time came many years later when Tai's 20, Iris presented her brother to their father for judgment with hope. Wilson, seeing darkness in Tai, disappointed them both when he said that Tai could never be the warrior.
Enrage and feeling betrayed by the members of his family's judgment and reluctance to speak up for his defense, Tai went on a furious rampage across the China, ravaging the China and its citizens before rushing back to the palace to take the scroll by force. Iris tried to stop Tai and defeat him, but at a critical moment, she hesitated, on winningly to deliver a critical strike against the brother that she loved and being raised by him besides their father. Paying for her hesitation, Tai knocked Iris aside with a crushing blow to the hip and leaped up towards the scroll, only to be disabled by Wilson's paralyzing strikes, which immobilized him.
With a broken heart, Iris bowed to the wishes of Wilson and oversaw the construction of the prison in the frigid outskirts of Mongolia, the only sole purpose of the prison to hold one prisoner, Tai, where he had spent years of his life in payment for his crimes against all of China.
A little bitter and heartbroken, Iris and Wilson both left Tai and moved out of China to New York under the watchful eye of Commander and the guards and would not see nor talk about Tai Lung-Croft ever again until years later.
Iris decided to be a vigilante of the night as she remember the time when she was been trained and raised by her actual and adoptive family. And she wanted to always be here with her adoptive family. Especially that she was being trained and raised by the Foot clan and also wanted to search for her long lost absent aunt.
Overtime, Iris soon meets and be friends April O'Neil, Jade Broom and Mei Hope.
That was until Iris met Raphael and Casey while Iris was searching for Jade.
