Jungkook tries to say something, but Jimin speaks before he can finish.
"Listen, Jungkook, I know about you and Rose being in a relationship, and I don't want to disturb you guys, but..." (interrupted by JK)
"Jimin, you've got the wrong idea. It's not what you're thinking. It's all a misunderstanding," Jungkook says calmly and seriously.
"There's nothing like that. I'm not misunderstanding you. Though you did mention earlier that you had a girlfriend, I forgot about it. I'm sorry if I started meddling in your life. I understand now," Jimin says, his eyes teary, which Jungkook notices.
"No, Jimin. How can you think that? You're not interfering at all. Actually, you're an important part of my life. The one who's interfering is that woman, Rose," Jungkook says, his anger rising as he recalls Rose's actions.
"And still, Jimin, you're misunderstanding me. It's not what you think. Please try to understand. Everything you saw was a lie. I didn't initiate any of it. It was all her doing. It's not my fault at all. Jimin, please try to understand," he adds, his voice cracking. He then explains everything that happened, how Rose forcefully kissed him and acted innocent in front of Jimin. Jungkook says all this while tears stream down his face.
"Alright, Jungkook, I understand. But please, don't cry."
"But first, tell me, do you trust me?" he asks, concern in his voice.
"Yeah, Kookie, I trust you. We'll talk later. You're running late, so please go to the office."
"But today, I don't want to go to the office. I want to spend time with you."
"No, Jungkook. You mentioned yesterday that you had a lot of work at the office. You need to go today, otherwise how will it work? So, go to the office."
"Okay." After that, Jungkook leaves for the office.
Later, Jungkook returns home and rings the doorbell. Hearing no response, he uses his spare key to enter. He calls out for Jimin, but there's no answer. He searches the house but can't find him anywhere, growing nervous and worried. Eventually, he enters their bedroom and sits on the bed, pondering where Jimin could be and what might have happened.
Then his gaze falls upon a paper on the nightstand. He picks it up and reads Jimin's handwriting.
~"Hello, Jungkook,~
I know you must be worried about me, wondering where I am. Don't worry, I'm visiting a friend for a few days, maybe a week. I need some time to understand and accept everything that happened. I trust you, Jungkook, but I still need this time. I hope you understand.
•~Jimin~•
Jungkook sighs with relief that Jimin is alright, but his eyes fill with tears knowing Jimin left. How will he manage a whole week without him? Wiping his tears, he takes a shower, changes into comfortable clothes, and lies down on the bed. Despite having no appetite, he can't eat dinner, feeling the absence of his partner. As he closes his eyes to sleep, Jimin's smiling face appears in his mind, along with the memories they shared. He fights back tears and eventually drifts off to sleep.

The next morning, Jungkook wakes up to find himself alone in bed. The absence of Jimin by his side serves as a stark reminder of his current situation. Every day, he had grown accustomed to waking up to Jimin's beautiful face, but now that comforting sight is missing. He realizes that he's the one responsible for Jimin's absence, and his eyes well up with tears once again. Wiping them away, he gathers himself and heads to the bathroom to begin his morning routine.
After getting ready, he descends the stairs but stops to ponder the usual routine. In the past, Jimin would have been there, preparing breakfast for him. But now, with Jimin away, there's an emptiness that tugs at his heart. The absence of Jimin's presence weighs heavily on him.
Despite his sadness, Jungkook decides to continue with his day and heads to the office. His heart isn't fully in it, though, and he chooses to skip breakfast as a poignant reminder of the absence he's feeling due to Jimin's absence.
In his office, Jungkook settled into his chair and retrieved his phone from his pocket. He dialed a number and made a call.
"Hello, Jungkook here," he said when the call was picked up.
The voice on the other end replied, "Oh, Mr. Jeon, how are you? How may I assist you?"
"Good, thank you. Listen, I need you to meet me in my office in about two hours," Jungkook requested.
"Of course, Mr. Jeon. I'll be there as scheduled."
Exactly two hours later, Jungkook was immersed in his laptop, reviewing documents, when a knock at his door disrupted his focus. He looked up and nodded, giving the person permission to enter.
"Hello, Mr. Jeon," the visitor greeted, stepping inside the office.
Jungkook gestured toward the chair in front of his desk. "Please, have a seat."
"Thank you, Mr. Jeon. How can I help you?" the man inquired.
Jungkook leaned forward, folding his hands on the desk. "I wanted to talk about the business deal we've been working on, Mr. Choi."
Mr. Choi, taken aback by the unexpected topic, adjusted himself in the chair. "Is there an issue with the deal, Mr. Jeon?"
Jungkook's expression remained composed, but his tone carried a serious undertone. "Yes, there is. I'm considering canceling the deal."
Mr. Choi's eyes widened with concern. "Canceling the deal? May I ask why, Mr. Jeon?"
Jungkook leaned back, gathering his thoughts before speaking. "It's not a decision I've taken lightly, Mr. Choi. There are certain aspects that have come to my attention which make me question the viability of our collaboration."
Mr. Choi's worry deepened. "I assure you, Mr. Jeon, we've put a lot of effort into this deal. Is there a specific issue you'd like to discuss?"
Jungkook nodded, his gaze steady. "Yes. I've recently become aware of certain actions that have the potential to impact our partnership. I value transparency in business, and I believe it's important to address these concerns."
Mr. Choi's brows furrowed as he leaned forward, attentive to Jungkook's words. "Please, go on. I'm here to listen."
"Before we proceed, I must clarify that I'm committed to maintaining professional conduct," Jungkook emphasized. "However, there has been an incident involving a third party that has caused a significant misunderstanding."
Mr. Choi's expression shifted to curiosity mixed with a touch of apprehension. "I see. Can you elaborate on the incident?"
Jungkook took a deep breath, his gaze unwavering. "The misunderstanding stems from interactions with someone closely related to your family, Mr. Choi. It's important to note that this doesn't reflect on our direct business dealings but could potentially affect the atmosphere around our partnership."
Mr. Choi's eyes narrowed slightly, his concern deepening. "I'm eager to understand the specifics, Mr. Jeon."
Jungkook nodded. "Of course. It appears that there have been actions taken by this individual that could lead to misconceptions about my intentions. To be clear, I always uphold professional boundaries, but these actions have the potential to cast a shadow on my character and impact the trust we're building."
Mr. Choi's expression tightened, his mind working through the implications. "I appreciate your honesty, Mr. Jeon. It's clear that this matter requires attention. I assure you, any concerns you raise will be addressed promptly."
Jungkook's tone remained measured. "I'm glad to hear that, Mr. Choi. However, I must express that my reservations about the situation remain."
Mr. Choi nodded, his determination evident. "Understood, Mr. Jeon. I'm committed to rectifying this issue and ensuring that our partnership isn't tarnished by any misunderstandings. If there's any specific action you'd like to suggest, please let me know."
Jungkook leaned forward, his eyes fixed on Mr. Choi. "I have a suggestion, Mr. Choi. To move forward, it would be essential for the individual involved to acknowledge and address their actions. An open conversation, followed by a genuine apology, would help dispel any misconceptions."
Mr. Choi's expression softened, reflecting a mix of understanding and determination. "I appreciate your straightforward approach, Mr. Jeon. I will take immediate steps to address this matter. Please understand that this situation doesn't reflect the values I uphold in my company."
Jungkook inclined his head in acknowledgment. "Thank you for your understanding, Mr. Choi. I value transparency and accountability, and I'm hopeful that we can find a resolution that ensures our partnership remains on solid ground."
Mr. Choi nodded firmly. "I share the same sentiment, Mr. Jeon. I will personally address this issue and ensure that the necessary steps are taken to rectify the situation. I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you."
Jungkook offered a small smile, appreciative of Mr. Choi's willingness to address the matter. "Thank you, Mr. Choi. I believe that our collaboration can continue on a positive trajectory once these concerns are resolved."
Mr. Choi stood, extending his hand toward Jungkook. "I appreciate your patience and your commitment to maintaining transparency, Mr. Jeon. Rest assured, I will address this matter promptly."
Jungkook shook Mr. Choi's hand, their agreement symbolizing a shared commitment to resolving the issue. "Thank you for your understanding, Mr. Choi. I look forward to a positive outcome."
As Mr. Choi left the office, Jungkook exhaled deeply, feeling a mixture of relief and optimism. He recognized the importance of addressing potential challenges head-on to ensure the success of their partnership.
Later, as Jungkook returned home after a long day, he rang the doorbell and was greeted by a maid. The realization that Jimin wasn't there to welcome him with a smile tugged at his heart, but he pushed aside his emotions. He greeted the maid and entered the house, his thoughts lingering on the quiet absence of his husband.
He settled onto the couch, reflecting on the events of the day. Dinner was announced, and he rose from his seat, heading to the dining table. As he ate, the solitude seemed more pronounced, a reminder of the usual conversations and shared meals with Jimin. After finishing dinner, he retired to his room, his thoughts filled with hopes for a positive resolution and the anticipation of Jimin's return.
