The first night in the hotel went...about as well as you'd expect.
Silver wasn't a very big fan of the decor, but he didn't say anything. Because really, decor didn't matter since he practically had a place to stay now. Silver's new room was rather comfy, and he had Tea Kettle as a roommate, which was nice. It made him a bit less lonely. A bit less...
...
He wasn't sure how to word it, but...
He felt a little more...safe...when he was around other people. Perhaps it was the interaction he had with Yin-Yang, Tea Kettle, and Balloon that made him a bit more comfortable to be around people again. Yet...
He could still see the dark blue blood on his hands.
The blood that tempted him to squeeze the life out of Paintbrush.
And now this was a burden he had to bear.
A burden he...
COULDN'T bear for much longer.
He didn't know how much longer he'd have to take exactly...
But it was getting...
Too hard.
...
...
The morning brightness shone down on the polished spoon's face as he woke up the next morning. He held his arm up towards his face to block out the sunlight, looking to the bed next to him to see Tea Kettle was no longer there. The door to their room was wide open. She must have left ago to prepare breakfast for everyone. Letting out a sigh, he got up from the mattress and began making his way out of the room, noticing how quiet the halls were this morning. Was it always like this in Hotel OJ? This was his first time here, so he couldn't be too sure. But it really felt like a whole new experience without his old butlers around to prepare him for the day. Maybe that was for the best, they always crowded him anyway.
Silver suddenly stopped when he was about to run into someone, stepping back a few inches to give them some space. However, getting a good look at this person made Silver freeze up in his spot and clench his fists. It was Lightbulb. "Oh hey, aren't you one of the newbies?" She said, eyes looking up to meet Silver Spoon's, "Hoo boy, you are quite the eye-catcher." The spoon just stood there, breathing in and out slowly as he looked back down at Lightbulb. God, that innocent face...
Having to break the news couldn't feel more painful.
"...You're...Lightbulb, I reckon." Silver said, trying to keep a straight face.
"Oh, yeah. How'd you figure it out?"
"Wasn't that...hard to guess."
"Omga, you must be smarter than a doorknob then if you were able to figure it out so quickly. Microphone managed to figure it out quickly too when we first met, but she wasn't really as smart as you were cause she..."
As Lightbulb continued to talk, Silver just stood there with an unnerved stare, his lip twitching every so often. Every second he stood there, he just felt the urge to vomit out of the guilt. God, why did it have to be her? Why did he...
Did he HAVE to tell her?
It could just...remain a secret? Right?
Nobody was forcing him to admit to his guilt.
Not even her.
Yet, why did the pain on his shoulders continue to weigh him down? Why were they even still there?
...Would it be worth it for HER to never find out?
Would it be worth it just to...
Take her out too?
But then...he'd risk becoming the very thing he swore he'd never become.
Him.
HIM.
That god forsaken fruit.
He didn't want to become anything LIKE him.
Anything like the person who killed Candle.
...
...
Candle.
It all came back to Candle.
It was all about Candle now.
Maybe it would be worth it just to...
Put Lightbulb out of her misery before it was too late.
He didn't want her knowing anything.
He didn't want ANYONE knowing anything.
It would all be worth it in the end, wouldn't it be?
Sure, someone else would die, but he'd still have his secret kept, right...?
No one had to know.
No one HAS to know.
Do it, Silver.
Do it for me.
Do it.
Do it.
Do it.
Do it.
"You kids doin' okay over here?" Tea Kettle's voice emerged. Silver was snapped out of his trance upon seeing her at the end of the hallway, looking at them with visible concern. "Oh, yeah, I'm doing fine over here ma. I think Spoon just needs something to eat more than I do." Lightbulb replied and pushed Silver slightly towards Tea Kettle. "Ah..I...must apologize..." Silver sighed when he bumped into the teapot. Tea Kettle just chuckled and pat him on the back, "Mama's gotcha! C'mon, you two. Let's go get some grub in our bellies! I made us an unforgettable luncheon!" She said as she led Silver and Lightbulb downstairs to the dining hall. The spoon just couldn't look at Lightbulb the whole way down.
Why would he honestly think hurting anyone else would be better for him?
As they came to the last flight of stairs, Silver's attention was turned to a familiar voice located in the living room. "Bot, huh? Must admit, rolls off the tongue a lot more! And it's so you as well!" They said, prompting a "thanks" from Bot in response. Quickly, Silver ran downstairs and peered through the living room's doorway, looking towards the couch area where Bot sat.
His eyes couldn't get any wider.
His eyes locked with the person who sat down across from Bot.
And their's locked with him back.
"...Silver." They said.
"...T-..." Silver stuttered, "...Test Tube..."
