"Who am I? That's the thought that has been plaguing my mind recently. Or the better question is...who do I want to be. My name's Ochaco Uraraka- yes, the same girl that graduated from UA High school in Japan a year ago. The very same school that's trained some of the world's greatest heroes we see today. If you asked me back then if I saw myself being this far away from the people I loved, then my answer would definitely have been 'no'."
"But...even though this was the hardest choice I ever had to make and one I definitely didn't want to. It at least brought me some clarity as to why I was even doing this in the first place. I mean, I went to that school to learn how to become the best hero I can be, right? So, I will do it. I will do what I have to, even if it means sacrificing my own happiness for someone else. Even if it means walking through life on my own. I will do it. I will keep smiling, I will keep fighting the good fight and I will keep doing my job. And I will do it knowing that I can make a difference. So, this is where I find myself now, working alongside people I care about and doing what I love. My hero name's Uravity, and this is my final story of my life after UA High."

"Alright guys, how are we doing on time?" A quiet voice filled the air outside the empty museum building.
"Going in now." Hagakure spoke into her earpiece as she continued to descend further down.
"Girl try not to mess it up this time." Mina whispered making sure she wasn't drawing any unwanted attention from outside. It was already night by the time they made it up on the roof of the Galleria dell'Accademia, hoping to find their target while fancy party guests continued to filter into one of the nearby buildings that currently held one of the largest parties of the year. "The last thing we need is another freaking lecture from Hawks."
"As if you could do any better." Hagakure grinned as she continued to be lowered down by an invisible force. "Woah not so fast Ocha-I mean Uravity!"
"Sorry, didn't get much sleep last night." Uraraka yawned, shaking her head to help get rid of her fatigue. "But don't worry I've got you Invisible girl."
"I know what you mean. Stupid time difference always cuts my phone calls with Ojiro so short unless I want to lose out on some sleep." Hagakure hummed looking down the corridor to try and make sure it was still empty.
"Can we please talk about something else for us single people?" Mina pouted next to Uraraka while looking over from the roof where the skylight was and seeing the lights flickering outside from the nearby party wishing they were there instead.
"Mina's right. Let's get what we came for." Uraraka focused all her energy to not drop their friend least they set off all the alarms in this whole place.
"Don't worry guys I've got Tokoyami and Thunderbird covering the exists in case things goes sideways as well as my feathers and our man on the inside." Hawks could be heard over their coms.
"Urgh, were you listening this whole time?" Mina groaned making Uraraka giggle and shake her head.
"That's my job Pinky, I'm the boss after all." Hawks curtly nodded as he continued to observe the guests that passed him by and tried to hide his smile with the glass in his hand. "I wouldn't be great doing what I do if I didn't keep an eye out for my Hawks Angels now would I?"
"Noooo..." they all groaned in irritation. "For the last time stop calling us that!"
"Couldn't agree more."
"Thank you Tokoyami." Uraraka squinted her eyes trying to make out where Hagakure could've been. "How are things looking over there? Any movements?"
"None outside at the moment, but Thunderbird said he heard movement from inside so keep your guard up."
"Go it." Mina and Uraraka exchanged worried looks before they heard Hagakure's voice come through.
"Guys, a little help over here!" Hagakure stared wide eyed at the statue in front of her while dangling in midair. "Hey, guys any chance we can stop by this place again during the day? Florence never ceases to amaze me."
"Oops sorry!" Uraraka redirected her attention on slowly increasing Hagakure weight to pull her further down. Throughout her time away she was able to gain better control of that part of her quirk but could still get the occasionally nose bleeds every once in while depending on the weight she added along with a headache.
"Let me guess, you stopped right in front of the statue of David?" Mina wickedly grinned.
"Maybe...." Hagakure quietly giggled.
Smiling Uraraka got to her feet, slinging a bag over her shoulder and silently slipped inside. "Time to work."
"Be careful." Mina whispered as she watched her friend move inside.
The place was eerily empty other than the various statues and art paintings from Alessandro Allori lining each wall. Even Uraraka had to admit that this place had a different atmosphere at night. Any wrong move and they could set the whole place on high alert which was why they had to plan ahead a couple of weeks in advance to try and pull this off.
They had been working this case ever since she left Japan last year and have yet to even get a glimpse of Doctor Fujiwara but hoping they would today. They were however able to apprehend a good number of Ipponmichi members along the way who had been involved in dealings in Europe with some being high ranking members and well to do people, thanks to some of the files they were able to confiscate from the main base in Japan.
Bousou and Zaiaku still managed to hide under the radar unlike the doctor who continued to make his name known and which they took full advantage of tonight.
They had heard from one of Hawks sources in Japan that the good doctor was going to be at the party to get in contact with some potential clients and that he was supposed to meet somoen here before hand.
"Anything?" Hawks asked.
"Nothing." Uraraka defeatedly exhaled glancing down the long wide hallways and high ceilings.
"Psst over here!" Hagakure whispered not too far off.
Silently floating her way over against the ceiling to make sure she wasn't being spotted through one of the surveillance cameras, Uraraka continued to follow her directions until she quietly dropped down without a sound and out of view. "Invis-Ow!" Nearly landing on her back, Uraraka was grateful when she felt Hagakures hand help her stay on her feet. "A little warning next time!"
"Sorry." She giggled. "Looks like we have a guest."
"Huh?" Turning her head Uraraka could see the shadow of something small approaching on four legs before the creature stopped to sit a few feet in front of them.
"Aren't you a cutie!" Hagakure cooed at the unamused black cat as it continued to flick its tail and stare at them with clear annoyance written in its emerald eyes. "Watcha doing here little fellow, get lost?"
Pressing her lips together to keep from grinning, Uraraka was startled to hear the cat hiss before it began to walk off.
"I think you angered him."
"Don't I always." Hagakure grinned and followed along with Uraraka. "This way it is."
"Guys how's it looking?" Mina asked.
"Well there's no sign of doctor evil creepy guy here and now we're following a cranky cat. So how do you think?" Hagakure replied making Mina laugh on the other end.
"Are you sure?" Tokoyami asked, watching Thunderbird walk up to him and shaking his head. "We haven't seen anyone leave on our end."
"Then he has to be here." Uraraka frowned.
"Relax, he'll be here." Hawks said as he grabbed another wine glass from a nearby waiter.
"Hawks you better not be drinking on the job." Mina frowned thinking that if they couldn't have fun then he shouldn't either.
"I'm not." He grinned.
"Uh-huh." They all said.
"By the way Thunderbird how's it going?"
"Good." Sora pressed on his earpiece next to Tokoyami. "Thanks for bringing me along this time, haven't had the chance to get out of the lab much lately."
"We're a team. Besides you've been doing great with our costumes." Mina said as he looked down to admire her all black stealth suit.
"Hang on!" Uraraka shot out her hand in an attempt to stop Hagakure before gesturing upwards and letting them quickly float up in time to see two figures approaching. She couldn't figure out who the second man was never having seen him before, but she was positive that the man next to him was a face she remembered all to vividly. "It's him."
"Dr. Fujiwara?" Hawks asked almost spitting out his drink and receiving odd looks from guests.
Nodding it took every self-restrained Uraraka had not to take him in right now. Her blood began to boil with pent up anger and pain as he continued to smile in that unnerving way he always did as the man continued talking to him.
"Stand down Uravity." Hawks warning tone could be heard through her ears. "We'll get him, but right now we need him to get to the others that are left."
"I'm going in." Placing a soothing hand on Uraraka's shoulder, Hagakure saw her nod in confirmation before she floated downwards knowing she wouldn't be seen. Once her feet touched the pristine floor she quickly and quietly tried to get closer without being seen.
"Thank you, she'll be so pleased." Doctor Fujiwara grinned as he was handed an envelope along with a brown box as the man excused himself. Looking past his shoulder the doctor carefully eyed the museum to make sure no one was there. His lanky pale fingers slowly began to open the envelope to peek inside before eagerly giggling and walking out.
"Careful guys he's heading out." Uraraka quietly said.
"Ok Tokoyami, Thunderbird, Pinky be careful don't let yourselves be seen."
"Got it."
"You got company." Tokoyami said when they saw two guards approaching.
"Alright you two get out of there. Invisible girl?"
"Got it."
"Uravity?"
"Be right there." She said dropping down and carefully walking over to the nearest bathroom. Quietly peeking her head inside the empty room, she quickly looked through the stalls before getting into one and instantly changing into an elegant wide one-shoulder dress. This type of dress was something Uraraka would never go out and buy for herself, especially with the high price. But after some begging and convincing from Mina, Hagakure and even Hawks she sadly relented to borrow one of Minas dresses instead just for this mission.
"Hurry up Uravity." Hawks sing songed into her earpiece.
"Do not rush me." She whispered, making sure she had everything else stuffed in her bag. "you're lucky I even agreed to this in the first place."
"Oh come on, how could you possibly say no to me?"
"Is that really a question?" she hurriedly opened the stall door.
"Ouch!" He chuckled. "I felt that one."
Rolling her eyes she began to look at herself in the mirror until she momentarily froze in place. Hesitantly she began to drag her eyes down as she looked at her reflection, she couldn't help but quietly gasp at what she saw. The dress was pretty with its one shoulder neckline and darted bodice wrapped around her figure perfectly. It wasn't the dress that stunned her but more of the realization of how much she's grown and changed.
Running her fingers lightly through her now jaw length brown bob, she moved her full bangs out of her eyes with a small smile remembering the moment she decided to cut her long hair.
"Uravity how are we doing?"
Blinking back to the present she quickly shook her head before replying to Haws. "Y-yeah I'm just about ready." She stuttered as she pulled on a blond wig.
With one last look at the mirror, she gave herself a slight nod while inhaling deeply reminding herself to keep going and walking out. Just as she exited the restroom she could already hear faint footsteps down the hallway until something threw her attention in the other direction.
Without a second thought she floated her bag and threw it upwards towards the small opening in the skyline hoping Mina would catch it before following the small black cat down the opposite exit.
"All good here 'Chaks." Mina whispered.
"-no way! You must be losing it." A security guard said as he suddenly flung the door open Uraraka was aiming for and instantly startled her. "Hey, you're not supposed to be here."
"Oh." Urarakas eyes widened bouncing between the unexpected security guards entering through the door she was about to exit out of. "I'm sorry I must've gotten lost." She gave a small smile hoping they'd believe her.
"He yours?" The other guard asked when they saw the black cat stopped to stand next to her while eyeing the two guards.
"This place is off limits Miss. No one's supposed to be here at this hour, you're gonna have to-"
"There you are!" Hawks dramatically waved as he approached them from outside. "What took you so long babe?"
"She with you?" One of the security guards raised a brow as they stared back at Uraraka.
"Well I should hope so." He charmingly grinned. "My fiancé you see tends to get lost when she's had a little too much..." he trailed off making a drinking gesture and winking. "But makes up for it later, you know what I mean?"
'Note to self kill Hawks.' She pressed her lips together to keep from screaming and forced a loving smile when they all turned to her for confirmation.
"Isn't that right honey?" Hawks cockily smirked knowing he was going to hear about it later, but he might as well enjoy the ride before she tried to kill him.
"Sure..." she found herself pretending to slightly wobble.
"Ah babe there's no need to be shy now." Hawks grabbed her around the shoulder. "You can call me...wait what's that name you like to call me again?" He pretended to give it some thought by tapping his chin until he tilted his head in her direction. "That's right it's big stallion."
"I am not calling you that." She hissed between her teeth as she continued to smile at the two men.
"You better unless you want to get us caught." He nervously chuckled while holding his grin.
With a very deep calm breath that required her to summon her inner strength to not kill this man where he stood, she put on her biggest smile. "Y-yes....my big stallion... I guess I got lost following this cute kitten."
"She's a big fan of animals what can I say." He shrugged as the black cat walked between their legs to leave. "Especially cats, dogs but mostly majestical bird-like creatures like Hawks-"
"Ok!" she quickly cut in patting him a little too hard on the chest. "I think it's time to go. Everyone must be wondering where we are." She faked a slight hiccup grinning sheepishly at the men. "Sorry about that."
"It's fine." One of the guards mumbled while frowning at Hawks. "Make sure she doesn't go wandering off again."
"Oh trust me I'll keep her really close to by." He winked over his shoulder as they passed the two man who gave him a knowing grin.
Once they managed to make it to the other building where the party was being held, she didn't hesitate to give him a slight punch to the gut as he keeled over to laugh.
"What's the matter sugar lumps?" He chuckled. "Not enjoying yourself?"
"Was all that really necessary?"
"It got us out didn't I?" He smugly made himself stand to his full height as he straightened his suit and finding himself still missing his wings that were still situated around the whole place.
"Where is he?" she exhaled heavily as she let him lead her inside.
"Managed to get a glimpse of the doc before I had to save my fiancé." He grinned but quickly moved sideways to avoid any further injuries.
Walking inside the room Uraraka could practically smell the expensive perfumes and money coming off all these people as they continued to chatter amongst themselves with the faint music in the background.
"Just pretend that you belong, and everything will be fine." He accepted two glasses from one of the waiters.
"You make it sound so easy." She fakes a smile when they pass by a group of people who nodded in greeting.
"It is, once you do this once or twice." He nodded back at them. "There!"
Whirling her head around to see where he was staring at, she could see Doctor Fujiwara mingling with a group of wealthy people.
"A little more discreet." Hawks Chuckled into his drink right before he gripped her arm when he felt her tense up. "Relax we'll get him. Don't forget the whole point of this operation is to find more intel about the people he's come in contact and potential new clients so we can keep track of each and every one of them." Hawked mused out loud as he let his eyes drag between each face to keep it into memory.
"These people are sick." Uraraka frowned which earned her a slight cough from Hawks as they passed by another group.
"Quieter on the tone."
"Sorry." She gave him a sheepish smile. "I just don't understand how people are ok with this."
"There's a lot we don't know about what goes on in the world." Hawks lowly said. "Which is why we do what we do. Hoping we'll get a break and flush out everyone involved including the Ipponmichi. But remember it's all about timing and patience. Without any solid evidence these people will just walk right out."
"Right." She gave a slight nod of her head thinking back on everything they have done this past year. She understood the way the hero life worked. Even more so now that she is one. But compared to the everyday work they did here, no one really understood the hardships some of the other heroes went through who were barely even known simply because they chose to be underground and help the people who were struggling that no one was aware of. She supposed there were a few of her friends who could understand that and could think of three in particular who did while being overseas with Endeavor.
But hearing about it and doing it were two different things.
Being in front of the cameras was still thrilling at times as well as overwhelming, but this type of work required her outmost patients especially when they planned on taking down every member of the organization known as the Ipponmichi.
Glancing down at the small blue bracelet on her wrist she inhaled calmly before placing her hand on top of it reminding herself why she was doing it.
"Uravity?"
"I'm fine." She firmly said gesturing to the people a few feet away. "Who are they?"
"Well going down the line we have-"
"Amore mio!"
"Oh no..." Hawks mumbled peeking behind her to see an overly excited woman dressed in a red off-the-shoulder A-line evening gown with hair to match making her way over to them.
"Friend of yours?" Uraraka cheekily grinned making the pro roll his eyes and snatch her by the wrist to drag her off.
"You could say that." He cringed when he heard the woman's constant shouts behind them until he rounded the corner hoping he'd lost her when he saw the red headed woman curiously look around.
"Then why not just say hi?" Uraraka asked once they were further away.
"Amore?" The woman asked again slowly approaching their direction.
Hawks felt himself sweating bullets the more her hells continued to Clink closer and closer.
"I got it!" he snapped his head in Uraraka's direction with his back towards the incoming woman. "Kiss me."
"W-wait what?!" Uraraka squealed, taking a quick step away. "No!"
"Come on they do it in the movies!" he urged, looking over his shoulder before turning back to Uraraka with pleading eyes.
"Well we are not in the movies Hawks!" she whisper yelled to not draw any more attention than they already have. "What's the matter anyways? She seems nice." She said peeking over Hawks shoulder.
"Oh she is." He smugly grinned thinking back on their time together.
"Hawks!"
"Ok look." He dramatically exhaled, fully aware of Uraraka's disapproving eyes. "She and I we...had a good time. But I guess she couldn't get enough."
"Hawks!"
"Hey to be fair, we both knew what this was." He honestly said lifting his hands up in defense. "Just seems she forgot about that."
Uraraka raised her brows as she saw the woman already close by. "You know what?" Smiling Uraraka waves her hand towards the woman who smiled back. "He's right here!"
"You did not just-" Hawks gasped with an open mouth as the woman finally stopped in front of them with his eyes never leaving an amused Uraraka.
"There you are mi bello! I've missed you."
"Hey!" Hawks fakes a smile when she draped an arm around his shoulder and her hand on his chest.
"Giana." She knowingly smiled trailing her finger up and down his chest before glancing over at Uraraka. "Thank you so much for finding him." Giggling she eyed Hawks next. "See and here you thought you could get rid of me."
"Apparently not." He awkwardly grinned before narrowing his eyes at Uraraka. "Shouldn't we head off?"
"Oh no, don't mind me." Uraraka was sure she'd hear about this later but right now she couldn't help smiling at the way Hawks eye continued to twitch with every word Giana was whispering in his ear. "He's all yours Giana." Uraraka innocently smiled lightly patting Hawks on the shoulder before walking off. "I'll meet you back at home big stallion."
X
By the time everyone was gathered back at headquarters Uraraka did her very best not to fall asleep on the chair she was currently sitting on. Checking the time again she frowned when she realized it was already ten past midnight, wishing she was already fast asleep and snuggled into her bed.
"Can't believe you did that." Mina snorted into her hand just as the door opened revealing a highly irritated Hawks now complete with his wings. "Heya boss, how did it go?"
Pausing, he whipped his head in their direction immediately glaring at the gravity user who did her best to suppress a laugh along with Mina.
"Hawks?" Tokoyami raised a curious brow when he saw his long-time mentor give one more waning glare at the two before moving to stand at the head of the table.
"Alright now, before we start this meeting. I'd like to say you all did a fantastic job out there with the exception of some of you who need to learn a little something I'd like to call teamwork."
"Huh?" Frowning Uraraka saw him pointedly staring directly at her. "Hawks I-"
"Now I'm not a petty guy, so let's move on and hope we all learned a little something from this."
"Giana?" Tokoyami quietly leaned over to her.
"Yeah...?" Uraraka was surprised when she saw Tokoyami nod in understanding.
"Happen to me to." "He tiredly sighs. "She's another pro here in Italy. Who's really infatuated with Hawks."
"Well can you blame her?" Hawks cut in gesturing at himself.
"Can we please hurry this up?"
Upon hearing the deep familiar voice of none other than Endeavor they all turned to the small laptop Hagakure was holding.
"Endeavor! Hey man how've you been?" Hawks awkwardly waved as he approached the screen. "And how long have you been here?"
"Too long." The almost retired pro folded his arms. "Can we hurry this up? Some of us have places to be."
"Oh yeah that's right you have to meet your buddies for bingo night, right? Since you're almost retired and all." Hawks grinned ignoring Endeavor calmly trying to breathe through his nose.
"He's not the only one here!" Hagakure eagerly waved her arms pointing to another black screen until another familiar face shoved up.
"Iida!" Both Mina and Uraraka jumped from their seats to try and get a better view of their former classmate and friend as they waved.
"It's good to see you." Tokoyami couldn't help but walk up as well. Not having been able to see most of their friends as well as their families all the time has been a challenge, but they did get the occasional visit every now and then but still, nothing felt like being home.
"Likewise." Iida fondly smiled from his position in Japan. "It's good to see you're all doing well."
"We miss you!" Mina smiled but it didn't quite reach her eyes the way it usually would, trying to force the sadness away from being home sick.
"It's good to see you man." Hawks gave a slight wave before addressing everyone in the room as well as the computer. "Now let's get down to business since I know everyone is just as tired as I am. So I'll let Hagakure begin."
"Really?" She surprisingly asked receiving the go ahead from Hawks. "Erm ok. Well for starters based on the information we got from none other than our man Kenzo here." She gestured to a silent figure who continued to stand against the far wall with a frown and stern lips peeking through his beard that he decided to grow. "The party next door did have some of the big power houses that helped fund the Ipponmichi at least in this part of the world."
"So in other words it's safe to say at least now we have faces to go along with who's been working with them as well as anyone thinking about joining." Hawks hummed approvingly. "Guess all that planning did pay up."
"That's good to hear." Iida agreed. "Although that doesn't put them all away yet I'm afraid to say."
"Ingenuim's right. Do we have anything else to go off?" Endeavor asked.
"Well some the big players have connections with people across different parts of the world so we just have to continue to monitor them as well as anyone they come in contact with until we can sniff out all the others and continue on down the line until they're all locked up." Hawks said, his tone surprisingly serious. "Don't worry we all want to catch them before another incident happens like last time. Thankfully since they know about what happened last year in Japan we haven't heard reports about missing people. So my guess is that since we managed to cut off the head of the snake Aka Hana, their operations have been slow going."
"But that doesn't mean it'll stay that way forever." Uraraka calmly said clenching her hands.
"With Hawkes's permission I already send all the names we gathered today at the party to all the other agency throughout the world who are also working this case on their end." Hagakure said before looking at the two men on the computer screen. "You guys should also have received the list."
"We have." Iida nodded. "Thank you."
"That's not all." Hagakure slowly said, turning to look at Hawks. "Back when Uraraka and I saw the doctor speaking with someone back in the museum I heard them talking."
"What about?" Endeavor asked.
"I'm pretty sure I heard them mention someone...can't say exactly who." Hagakure answered honestly. "But I did hear them sat "She.'"
"Hana?" Uraraka breathed out hoping above all else that she was wrong.
"I'm not sure." Hagakure said before addressing Hawks. "I also saw what was in that envelope. Looks like the good old doc is heading back home."
"Japan?!" Both Mina and Tokoyami said in unison.
"Looks like it." Hagakure pointed her finger.
"Heading to Japan huh?" Hawks leaned back in his chair. "If it's taking the man this long to try and go back, then there's only one guess as to why."
"You really think he's willing to risk getting captured all for the sake of coming back here when he knows we'll have everyone-"
"Then tell me I'm wrong." Hawks questioned Endeavor who seemed to already be putting a call out for his capture. "What other reason would he have? And I'm sure he's expecting us, expecting to get caught the moment he sets foot on our soil."
Gritting his teeth Endeavor couldn't deny that Hawks had a point as much as he hated to admit.
"So, whether we capture him now or not is irrelevant." Iida pondered.
"Right." Hawks nodded. "Either we capture him- which I would prefer. Or we wait and see what his next move is and find out how he's been able to stay in contact with Hana all this time while she's still behind bars if that's who he's refering too."
"Right." Endeavor nodded as he leaned back. "When should we expect you?"
"Soon." Hawks rubbed his tired eyes with the hell of his palm, aware of the silence that engulfed the room. "I'm sure I'm not the only one wanting to put this whole ordeal behind me."
"Ok we'll be expecting you." Iida smiled and they could see the happiness in his eyes.
"I'll also let me son know since he's been asking about your progress as well as the partnership we've discussed."
"Right." Hawks nodded as they said their goodbyes and ended the call.
"You're kidding right?!" Mina continued to grin from ear to ear as she and Hagakure couldn't help but bounce from the toes of their feet at the exciting news. "We're going back home?!"
"Seems we've done our part here and I'll let the rest of the agencies know to continue and monitor the situation. So be ready in the event that we're needed back but, in the meantime, get everything ready to leave within a week."
"This calls for a celebration!" Both girls shouted eagerly looking around the room.
Shaking his head Kenzo brushed past them and down the hall with a cigarette already in hand.
"Still with the sulking huh?" Mina walked to stand next to Hagakure.
"He'll come around...hopefully." Hagakure said before turning to Thunderbird. "Sora you in?"
"Sure, first rounds on me." He grinned once he took off his mask. He had only just recently joined Hawks agency a few months back after getting offered a position in one of his departments but today was his first time actually being out in the field since he wasn't really trained for it in school.
"Aww you're too sweet!" Mina grinned following everyone out. "Ochaco?"
"I'll be right there." Urarakas emotionless tone caught her pink friend momentarily off guard, surprised that she didn't look as thrilled about the news as the rest of them.
"Alright."
Once the very last person had left, Hawks continued to silently stare at the ceiling knowing there was only one person left which he expected. "Something on your mind?"
"Hawks...." Uraraka's voice turned small as she quickly approached the back of his chair. "You can't."
"Uraraka-"
"No." she stubbornly shook her head as he turned his chair to face her. "I can't go back there."
"Home?" he quirked an eyebrow knowing what she meant as he raised from his seat. "I get it ok."
"No you don't." her voice rose slightly, unwilling to do what was asked. "Hawks you know I can't go back."
"I know remember." He gave her a pointed look. He had already expected this conversation ever since he heard about the idea of agencies eventually partnering up in Japan with the possibility of returning.
She frowned. "Please, don't ask me to do this."
"Listen it's been a year without a peep from Hana or even Toga. Bedside's this is only temporary-"
"Then let me stay here." She argued.
"Uraraka, you know everyone loves having you here. Heck I love having you here. But right now there's nothing else to do here." Hawks rubbed the bridge of his nose as he made to stand by the window.
Usually he wouldn't let anything bother him too long and Uraraka knew this, but even now she could tell this was taking a toll on him. That after what happened with the Ipponmichi even Hawks couldn't keep a smile on his face long when it came to them. And now he just looked.... tired.
"Hawks please...I know you've already done so much for me. But please if I can't stay here then..."
"I'll make sure it's only temporary ok." he said meeting her eyes. "We knew it could come to this eventually Uraraka remember, and we've talked about it in the event that it does." He saw her give a slight nod. "I told you before I'll help any way I can, but in the meantime as long as you make sure to stay clear you'll be fine."
"I guess..." her voice sounded unconvinced even to her own ears. It's not what she wanted to hear but at least it gave her some peace knowing she wouldn't have to stay in Japan forever and it hurt to even think that way since her friends weren't the only one's home sick. But the fact remained the same. She just couldn't stay there.
"Now get some much-needed rest." Hawks ushered her towards the door before grabbing her arm to stop her. "You'll be fine Uraraka. You'll get to be with your family again and I'm sure your mom and Aunt Yui want to see you too."
"I know." She gave a small smile knowing he was right, and she really did miss seeing them. "Thanks Hawks."
"Anytime."
X
Tiredly dragging her feet up the flights of stairs after leaving work and declining Mina's offer to go out and celebrate. She covered her mouth from yawning too loudly once she unlocked her apartment door only to be met with an irritated girl staring back at her. She had long black hair pulled back in a French braid and impatiently tapping her foot.
"Oh oh what happened now Cecilia?" Uraraka gave a small smile while placing her keys on the nearby table and taking off her shoes.
"Your cat again." Cecilia pointed her thumb behind her where Uraraka could clearly see the same black cat blankly staring at the two. "I swear I feel like he wants to just scratch out my eyes anytime I come near the little guy."
Disapprovingly shaking her head Uraraka, turned to look back at Cecilia who began gathering her things after another night of work. "Sorry about that, it's been a long day."
"It's alright." The young girl smiled knowing it wasn't her fault that she had a hostile cat who was probably summoned from the underworld. And felt honored to be able to help out the famous hero Uravity after all.
"Speaking of which..." Uraraka began digging into her purse. "How is he?"
"Just fine. Took me a while to get him to finally fall asleep." Cecilia admitted with a faint giggle at the memory of how he had fought her to let either of them rest.
"Sounds about right." Uraraka warmly smiled and gave Cecilia her money for the night. "Sorry about working later than I thought and thank you so much for helping me."
"It's no problem." Cecilia smiled as she said her goodbyes.
Once the door closed Uraraka placed her hands on her hips and sternly turned to see the cat still staring at her. "I appreciate you trying to watch out for him, but would it kill you to be nice for a change Kenzo? She's helping me out you know."
Rolling his eyes Kenzo quickly headed to his room while Uraraka stood there gawking after him.
"Did you hear me?" Uraraka stared wide eyed as the cat continued on his way until his ankle monitored leg slammed his door shut. "Just for that I'm not buying any kitty toys!" She pouted knowing those were empty threats since he despised anytime she would bring it up, knowing how much he hated it.
It's already been a whole year since they all moved to Italy and found out that their mystery team member was non other than Togas old league member. It took everyone a while to get used to the idea of working with an ex-criminal but once they were reassured that he was still on probation and due to Uraraka volunteering to keep a careful eye on him they found themselves slowly warming up to the idea once they began working with him. Understanding that he wasn't as bad as they thought but it seemed he still wasn't up to socializing with anyone.
She couldn't blame him after all that had happened to him. She could tell he was still wary around heroes the same way some of them were of him. But with how much he's helped her as well as Hawks she believed he just needed more time to heal.
They all did.
And she knew he meant well when she slowly caught on that he was somewhat protective over him whenever she wasn't around, and she really did appreciate it. But right now, she couldn't afford to lose the help she received whenever she was called in for work.
At least for now, until they made it back home.
"Home..." she gave a small smile thinking how strange that sounded. Oh how much she missed everyone back in Japan. All of her friends and family...
Sure her mom, aunt and even some of their old classmates came to visit them whenever they could and it's not like they didn't get any vacation time because they did. But while everyone used this time to fly back home and spend what little time they could there, she decided to hang back here and spend it with the only person that mattered the most to her.
As quietly and carefully as she could, she floated herself off the floor and into her small room where she stopped next to a small white bassinet next to her bed which continued to play soft melodies.
"Hey Kiseki, mommy's home." She warmly smiled down at the small baby peacefully sleeping away with his lips slightly parted and his light snores filling the room. Both his little fists were clenched and resting on his chest.
She always wanted to drink these moments in. These moments she always cherished the most when coming home from work. It didn't matter how tired or beaten she felt, it became worth it in the end when she got to stare down at her precious baby boy who meant the world to her.
Fondly moving his brown bangs away from his face, she gave a faint giggle when he began to frown with a small pout on his tiny lips which just made his chubby pink cheeks stand out even more. She continued to find it so cute how such a little person could bring so much happiness and change her world completely.
She placed a gentle kiss on his forehead which seemed to sooth him when he gave a slight upturn of his lips before continuing to sleep. She couldn't deny that she was feeling a whole whirling of mixed emotions pass through her after hearing the news. But she knew deep within her heart that it wouldn't change things, no matter how much she wished it to.
"Looks like we might get to see daddy after all." She softly smiled.
