Pierre had felt bad about bringing up the Ethan and Alicia drama to Charles, especially after he and Kika had just invited themselves to crash his holiday. When he and Charles had gotten back to the villa, he went to join the girls out by the pool, thinking that Charles's bad mood was a combination of the headache and the Ethan/Alicia. He hadn't taken what Charles had said about him and Kika interrupting to heart – they had been friends long enough they had few boundaries, but Eleanore had clearly said something to Kika, as when he got to the pool Kika immediately stood up to tell him they were leaving. They both hugged Eleanore at the front door and walked back to their hotel.
Pierre: so what is going on?
Kika: nothing, they just want some alone time, and I wouldn't mind some alone time with you.
Pierre: but we were all having fun.
Kika: babe, how can your Spidey sense tingle from so far away but not recognize that the new couple wants to just be in their little bubble? We will see them tomorrow for dinner!
Pierre: fine.
Pierre wasn't happy about this, part of him had expected that Eleanore would invite them to stay at her villa, which Kika had said she would have refused if that had happened. Of course, he understood they wanted alone time, but they were also his friends, and he liked spending time with them. Kika and Eleanore are super close as well, so he couldn't see the problem. Kika would say it is his total lack of boundaries – which most of the time is endearing, but sometimes a bit annoying. This was one of those times.
Kika: plus I don't want to hear them having sex, or them hear us to be honest.
Pierre: they had sex when we were there Kika...
Kika: yeah and I know for a fact it took everything she had to keep quiet.
Pierre: how do you know?
Kika: she told me. Charles is apparently... masterful.
Pierre: huh. sure. Whatever. Let's get some dinner.
Kika could see he was in a mood, so decided that maybe today wasn't the day to tell her boyfriend she was pregnant. Pierre had no idea anything was going on with his girlfriend, since the start of their relationship it had been clear to Pierre that she was immune to his Spidey sense or his Spidey sense was immune to Kika. Which did bug him at times, because it meant she could keep secrets from him and he didn't know. If his Spidey sense hadn't been immune to Kika, dinner the following day probably wouldn't have been quite such a disaster.
They had all agreed to meet at the restaurant – Mick, Sabrina, Max, and Seychelle would be joining as well as Charles and Eleanore. it was going to be quite the little couple get-together, and Pierre was excited as he sensed something was going on with Max. As they sat at a large table towards the back of the restaurant they all ordered their drinks.
Eleanore: just a fizzy water for me.
Pierre: what? no, come on, it's summer break let's get some wine for the table.
Kika: yeah, just fizzy water for me too actually.
Charles: how about we do an alcohol-free night?
Mick: sounds good to me
Max: me too, to be honest.
Sabrina: I'm in.
Pierre was not happy at the group decision and that Charles had instigated it, he couldn't understand why he would do this, but Charles just wanted to avoid anyone asking why Eleanore wasn't drinking – not knowing that Eleanore wasn't drinking to cover for Kika. They all ordered their non-alcoholic drinks and began to chat in groups, suddenly Eleanore gasped and Pierre knew he had missed a key piece of gossip.
Pierre: share with the whole group, please.
Max: Kelly is pregnant
Charles: congratulations to you or Daniil?
Max: I'm the father...
Charles: congrats mate! That's wonderful news. I know maybe not what you planned. But babies are great, little bundles of love and happiness.
Max: thanks Charles, yeah they are. Seychelle has been amazing already.
Seychelle: whether the baby is biologically mine or not, I will love them all the same.
Charles: that is all a baby needs – love right? doesn't matter whether you are the biological parent or not. Love is love.
Pierre: yeah, so when did you find out Max?
Pierre didn't know why Charles was all talking about love being love and stuff, there was gossip and he wanted it. But Charles continued throughout the evening talking about how when two people love each other it shouldn't matter who the parents of the child are, you love and support them, and your partner. Kika had begun to suspect that Charles knew something, but his comments didn't make much sense to her – unless he thought... then it hit her like a ton of bricks and she grabbed Eleanore's hand and called girl time to the bathroom. Pierre at the same time called guy time outside with Charles.
Charles: what is your problem?
Pierre: what is yours? Why do you keep talking about babies? You and Eleanore just got together man! Give it some time!
Charles: because I found a pregnancy test.
Pierre: wow, you work fast.
Charles: it cannot be mine – it takes two weeks; did you pay no attention to biology?
Pierre: no, I was probably karting that day.
Pierre took a deep breath and suddenly let what Charles had told him sink in – Eleanore was pregnant and it wasn't Charles' baby. That meant it was Landos – but she would be showing by now, unless.
Pierre: wait was she with someone between you and Lando?
Charles: I don't know. If it were Lando's she would be showing by now... right? even if the last time they were together was the last night they were together... that is still... shit how many weeks? 10... huh, ok maybe she wouldn't be showing.
Pierre: 10 weeks?
Charles: I assume Imola... they broke up before Monaco...
Pierre: ok so 10 weeks, maybe we should google when women start showing.
Charles: yeah, you do it on your phone.
So they stood outside the restaurant and googled: when do women show pregnancy bumps if the others at the table had seen how long it took the two men to agree on what to type, they would have hit them over the head. They both read the answer – rounded belly at 10 weeks but typically show from 12.
Charles: she doesn't have a rounded belly... not a belly at all...
Pierre: maybe there was someone else?
Charles: we would know, YOU would know. Your Spidey sense plus Kika...
Pierre: yeah, there wasn't anyone when we were in Mallorca before. Hmmm... just ask?
Charles: she hasn't even told me she is pregnant yet; I can't just go up to her and say: so who is the father? Besides, I AM!
Pierre: you just said that it couldn't be you.
Charles: no you idiot, it doesn't matter to me the DNA... the baby is mine.
Their conversation was interrupted by Mick coming out to ask what on earth they were doing, but he had overheard part of the conversation.
Mick: ok, come back inside, and maybe don't talk about Eleanore being pregnant quite so loudly in the street.
Charles and Pierre looked at each other and nodded that Mick was right. When they re-joined the table Kika and Eleanore were back as well. Sabrina was the one who brought the conversation right back to baby and Pierre had to stuff a bread roll in his mouth to stop from laughing or saying something he shouldn't.
Sabrina: I think it's great Seychelle how supportive of Max you are, and that you are excited to meet the baby. Not sure everyone would be so eager.
Charles: I would, for Eleanore.
Pierre watched as Eleanore smiled at Charles and then shook her head before kissing him. He couldn't help but think his Spidey sense would be tingling if she were pregnant. It had been about Max, and that involved a baby – so it wasn't that his Spidey sense was immune to kids. Something didn't add up, and it was beginning to annoy him. The food finally arrived and Charles plated food for Eleanore before serving himself, Mick did the same for Sabrina and Max did for Seychelle. Pierre had begun putting food on his plate when he heard a sigh from his girlfriend, he turned to see her watching the other guy's behavior and Pierre was profoundly confused.
Pierre: babe, what's wrong?
Kika: you never plate me first – you just dive in and serve yourself, whereas look at Mick, Max, and Charles – they serve their girlfriends first.
Pierre: you hit me on our first date in the restaurant when I did that for you, telling me that you are a strong and independent woman who can serve herself... my mother raised me the same as the others, it isn't actually about serving the girlfriend... it was about you don't serve yourself first.
Kika: oh, well, why didn't you tell me that at the time?!
Pierre: because I thought you would know; you weren't raised in a cave!
Kika: how do you know I wasn't?!
Pierre: I have been to your parents' home.
Kika: maybe they were actors I hired, and the home was a set.
Pierre: if you are going to try to mess with me and confuse me then I am going to need a drink. Shots for the table.
Mick/Charles/Kika/Eleanore: NO!
Everyone at the table was now looking around at everyone else to understand what had just happened. Why had those four people shouted no at the suggestion of alcohol? Sabrina and Seychelle looked at each other knowing for certain that neither of them was pregnant, and then they both looked at Kika and Eleanore, what they noticed, that Pierre completely missed, was Eleanore looking at Kika with a slight nod to assure her. Sabrina and Seychelle at that moment figured out what Pierre and Charles were clueless about.
