CHAPTER 45, THE MISERABLE DUO.

the forest was bright and green. As Kal and scarlet were walking they noticed a fluffy rabbit hop by, squeaking. Scarlet looked at the bunny in confusion.
" it seems to be lost" she said.
Kal rolled his eyes.
" like you'd know, if anything we'd need Maisy to help with animal stuff." He replied dryly and kept walking.
" ..I guess you're right." She huffed and caught up with him.
" I wonder where summer could be, I mean after all, where does an element of forgiveness live?" Scarlet wondered.
" I'd rather you speak in your head, scarlet." Kal said.
" whatever. Why have you been acting like this anyway? What's wrong with you?" Scarlet asked, clearly aware of his unusual behaviour.
Kal looked down.
" I...it doesn't matter." He sighed and kept walking, though his expression gave most of it away.
" it clearly does, just answer the question." She said.
" well, ever since you invited Sophie here I think you've changed. And you went to the ball with her, are you trying to betray us? She tried killing all of us! And you accept  her apology? Heck, I don't think she even apologised! You must be brain dead, scarlet." Kal argued.
Taken aback, scarlet tried to reason with him. But once scarlet fully understood what he said, she thought a moment.
Why did I forgive her so quickly? And then it hit her. When she was in the basement looking for some history about Sophie and the elements of harmony, she had come across a book that was called 'the elements of harmony', which told every single detail and fact about them. She remembered something in there specifically- the powers of each element.
Sophie's powers were insane to believe, and scarlet was shocked that Sophie had not defeated them on the day they summoned her. It turns out, as scarlet had read, Sophie has the powers of chaos magic, followed my shapeshifting and mind control/manipulation. Scarlet believed that Sophie had roped her into forgiving her, and now saw Sophie abit different to the way she saw her last time. Whilst in her thoughts, Kal had walked on a lot further.
" hey, wait for me Kal." Scarlet said, abit uncomfortable now that this had been addressed about Sophie.
Kal sighed.
" I know a lot has happened, scarlet. But..well, we've got to stick together.we are the elements of friendship, we can't keep doing this- I say we take moonlight and The QUAK'BR down, and find the other elements to help us. And, we can try change Sophie too" he said with a soft smile, and once scarlet has seen him it was almost like back when she had a crush on him- though she didn't seem to find any of him attractive now. She smiled back still, hoping to find summer. Scarlet hadn't noticed how dark it had got, and decided that they should sleep under the shelter of a tree.
" are you sure about this? It's freezing." Kal asked with uncertainty.
" I'm sure we'll be fine, it's not like we are in the dark forest or something." She shrugged.
" I know. But we are in a far more dangerous forest than the others- and there's only two of us. So we better be-"
A loud rustle was heard in the distance not to far from where they were resting, cutting off Kals sentence.
" w-what was that..?!" Kal said scared, but trying not to show his fear.
Scarlet huddled behind the tree.
"I don't know, but we'd better get some sleep soon. Don't story, I mean, we are the elements! We can fight whoever this is off!"
Suddenly, a branch snapped right behind them.
" it's probably a hell hound or cerebus we can fight-"
" well hello there.." a grave and sinister voice erupted from behind them. They turned, quaking in fear.
" did I show up late?" Scarlet was shocked when she saw who it was.
" s-Sophie?"
