luna was only 7 years old, when she was forced to go sunny creek home, aka the grave. her parents had died tragically and her older sister was not able to take care of her.
luna remembered kicking and screaming not wanting to be taken from the only family she had left. she was only seven, but the sadness and loneliness consumed her everyday.
the first day of grave was tortuous, she got there and was met by miss. margret and the others. she already hated miss. margret.
"personal items are not allowed" miss. margret said eyeing the bracelet that was on my wrist. "please, it's my mom's" i said. she held out her hand, "it wouldn't be fair if you got to keep it" she said.
"rigel" she said, a boy pushed past some kids and took the bracelet off my wrist. "please don't" i cried, "crying won't bring back for what you have lost" miss. margret said sternly.
"it will be okay, she said the same thing to me when i got here" a brunette girl whispered. i just stared at her.
"adeline, show luna to her room please. children back inside, let's go" miss. margret said.
"this was katherine's bed, she was adopted yesterday" adeline said. "i'm nica, by the way" the girl from outside said, "nice to meet you" i said softly.
"we can all be best friends, if you want" adeline said, "sure" i replied. "what's the deal with the boy?" i asked, "oh, rigel? don't mind him. he's harmless" adeline chuckled.
the past 10 years of living at grave, the trio has been inseparable. that is until the day luna, nica, and rigel got fostered by the milligan's
before the milligan's arrived
"adeline, i don't want to go" i said, "please do it for me" adeline said. "but what about you? you will be all alone here" i said. "i'll be okay. but i need someone to look after nica for me, please" she begged.
"i know you're scared. i know you think you're unworthy of being loved. but you're so wrong. they want you! please go have your family, be free of this place. i love you so much. i promise i will visit you" adeline said.
"i love you" she said kissing my cheek, "i'll visit. i promise" she whispered. i finished packing my clothes and sat my bag on the bed.
this was it, huh? for the past ten years, this place has been all i've known.
little did luna know, rigel only left grave to be with her. for the longest time she was convinced that he and nica were in love. but she had it all wrong.
nica was in love with rigel. but rigel loved luna since the first day she arrived. he knew he shouldn't love her, but he did. he tried everything to forgot about her. but nothing ever worked. she was always on his mind, she still is.
