“Why did you put us in this cell?!” Jimin shouted, frustration in his voice as the police locked the three of them in a small, dark cell.

“You three need to calm down. You’re being charged with disorderly conduct and assault.” A cop said, his expression stern.

“Assault?” Jimin said in disbelief, throwing his hands up. “We were just defending someone! We didn’t do anything!”

The officer remained unfazed. “That’s not how it looks from our perspective. We received multiple complaints about a brawl breaking out and the destruction of property.”

Taehyung opened his mouth to protest, but Jungkook interrupted. “You should’ve seen what they did! They grabbed that girl, and she was scared! If we hadn’t stepped in, who knows what would’ve happened?”

The officer took a step closer, eyeing Jungkook with skepticism. “And you think throwing punches was the solution? You three are lucky no one got seriously hurt.”

“That’s not fair!” Jimin shot back, his voice rising. “We were just trying to protect her! You should be arresting those jerks!”

“Exactly! We just gave them the punishment they deserved!” Jungkook said.

“Is that so?” the officer said, crossing his arms with a skeptical look. “Then who are you guys to give them punishment?”

“We are also police officers.” Taehyung said firmly.

Jimin and Jungkook turned to Taehyung, their eyes wide. Jungkook facepalmed and shook his head.

“Wait, you what?” the officer said, bursting into laughter. “You’re really a police officer?”

“Hey, don’t laugh! We really are cops!” Taehyung insisted, glancing at Jimin and Jungkook for backup. “Why aren’t you guys saying anything? Tell him who we are!”

“Taehyung…” Jimin started to protest, but the officer cut him off. “Is that so? Then show me your IDs.”

“Oh, of course,” Taehyung replied sarcastically, patting down his pockets. However, his expression changed to confusion when he realized he couldn’t find his ID. " I didn't bring it with me ! ." He gaps.

“So where’s the ID, then if you didn't bring it ? You’re claiming to be cops, but I don’t see any proof,” the officer said, raising an eyebrow.

“Well, we’re cops from Seoul, and we came here for vacation, which is why we’re not carrying our IDs,”Jimin explained.

The officer leaned against the wall, clearly amused by their situation. “So, you’re saying that three police officers just happened to get into a fight at a ski lodge and got arrested without their IDs? That sounds really suspicious to me.”

“Why do you think like that?” Taehyung asked, crossing his arms defiantly.

“Why do you think like that?” Taehyung asked, crossing his arms defiantly.

The officer straightened up, a knowing smile on his face. “There are plenty of reasons you should know. Number one: this isn’t your area! Police typically can’t conduct investigations outside their assigned jurisdictions.”

“Okay, but we were just trying to help—” Jimin started, but the officer cut him off.

“Number two: you’re on vacation and off duty,” the officer continued.“You’re not supposed to engage in anything like this while you’re supposed to be relaxing.”

“Relaxing?” Jungkook exclaimed. “How could we relax when someone was being assaulted?”

“Number three: no cops should be throwing punches like that,” the officer replied, shaking his head. “That’s not how we handle situations.”

“Then what were we supposed to do?” Taehyung shot back, frustration bubbling over.

“Which brings me to number four,” The officer said, raising a finger for emphasis. “If you were truly defending someone, you wouldn’t just let the aggressors walk away. You’d either detain them yourself or call in the local police to handle it.”

Taehyung opened his mouth to protest, but the officer continued, ignoring him. “And last but not least, you can’t interrupt while someone else is talking. That’s basic respect, even in a heated situation.”

Jungkook clenched his fists, trying to keep his cool. “We didn’t mean to interrupt; we were just trying to explain!”

The officer leaned back, crossing his arms as he observed them. “Look, I understand your intentions, but you need to think about the consequences of your actions. Instead of handling things the way you did, you should have reported the situation to us or restrained the aggressors until we arrived.”

Jimin ran a hand through his hair, exasperated. “We didn’t know how it would play out! We just acted on instinct.”

“Well, instincts can get you into trouble,” the officer said, his tone softening slightly. “And right now, it’s gotten you all locked up. So, unless you have some proof to back up your claims, you’re going to need to sit tight while I sort this out.”

Taehyung glanced at Jimin and Jungkook, his expression shifting from defiance to worry. “What are we going to do now?” he asked quietly.

“Right now?” the officer replied, a hint of sympathy in his “You wait and hope someone believes your story. But you should think of a better one while you’re at it.”

“We’re not making up a story ! we really are cops!” Jungkook said frustrated.

Before the officer could respond, a voice came from outside the cell. “They didn’t do anything wrong!”

The officer turned, his expression changing as he spotted a young lady—the waitress whom the trio had saved.

“What do you mean?” He asked, his brow furrowing.

“I saw the whole thing,” She said, stepping closer, her gaze steady. “They were defending me from those guys who were harassing me. They didn’t throw the first punch; they were just trying to help.”

The officer raised an eyebrow, considering her words. “And you are?”

“I’m one of the staff of the lodge.” She replied. “My name is Jung Chaeyoung. I can vouch for them. They acted in my defense when those jerks were grabbing me.”

The officer hesitated, clearly weighing the situation. “You’re sure about this? Because if I find out you’re lying…”

“I wouldn’t lie about something like this!” She said firmly. “Please, let them go. They didn’t do anything wrong.”

The officer sighed, “Alright, I believe you. But if I find out you’re all in on this together, there will be consequences.”

“Thank you,” Taehyung said, relief flooding his voice. Jungkook and Jimin shared a glance of hope.

The officer waved to another officer nearby, gesturing for him to approach. “Open the cell,” He instructed, then turned to Chaeyoung. “You’ll need to sign a statement regarding what you witnessed. It’ll be on the other side of the office." Chaeyoung nodded and went to the other side of the office.

“Alright,” the officer began looking at the three men. “You’re free to go.”

Jungkook let out a breath he didn’t realize he was holding, “Really? We can leave?”

The officer nodded but quickly raised a finger, signaling for them to stay put. “But… if you’re really cops, you need to understand that you were in a big mess. Fighting like that in a public place, especially while off-duty, is unacceptable.”

“Yeah, we get it,” Taehyung replied, his tone was more serious now. “We messed up. We know that now.”

"Good for you," the officer said.

Just then Chaeyoung approached the group, she gave the officer a polite smile. “Thank you, Officer, for understanding."

The officer’s stern expression softened a little. “Just doing my job. But remember, next time something like this happens, try to get help first before things escalate, alright?”

Chaeyoung nodded. “Of course, I’ll keep that in mind.” She glanced back at Taehyung, Jimin, and Jungkook, who were watching her with wary eyes. “And again, thank you for letting them go.”

With a slight nod  the officer stepped aside, motioning for them to leave. “Alright, take care, all of you. And stay out of trouble.”

The four of them left the police station. Then Chaeyoung turned to the three men,“Thank you,” she said quietly“You didn’t have to do all that for me. I know it was risky, but… I really appreciate it.”

Jungkook looked away, rubbing the back of his neck sheepishly. “We couldn’t just stand there and do nothing.”
Jimin sighed, folding his arms. “Yeah, but we ended up making things worse for you, didn’t we? You had to come all the way here and get involved.”

“No!” Chaeyoung shook her head. “I’m just glad you stepped in when you did. Those guys… they wouldn’t leave me alone. If you three hadn’t shown up, I don’t know what would’ve happened.”

“We’re just glad you’re okay.” Taehyung smiled

“But I guess we kind of destroyed the lodge in the process. Your boss must be furious,” Taehyung said sheepishly, scratching the back of his head.

Chaeyoung shook her head and smiled. “No, don’t worry about it. It’s actually my brother’s restaurant, so technically, it’s mine too. We’ll take care of it. It’s not a big deal.”

Hearing this, Jimin stepped forward, gently taking her hand and placing some money into her palm. “We’re really sorry for the damage we caused. Please accept this—it’s the least we can do to help cover the costs.”

Chaeyoung’s eyes widened as she looked down at the money in surprise. “Oh, no, I can’t accept this. You don’t have to—”

“Please,” Jimin insisted softly, his gaze earnest. “We feel responsible, and we want to make it right. Just think of it as a small gesture to say thank you… for everything.”

She hesitated for a moment before nodding, a grateful smile spreading across her face. “Alright, if it makes you feel better. But honestly, I’m just glad you’re all safe.”

Jimin glanced at her for a moment longer before finally letting go of her hand. He slipped his hand into his pocket and gave a small smile, nodding. “I… I think we should get going now. Thanks again for helping us.” He bowed, and the other two followed suit.

Chaeyoung watched as the three men bowed, their serious expressions almost making her laugh. But she could tell they were genuinely thankful. Before they could turn away, she spoke up again.

“Wait!” She called out softly. “If you’re ever in town again… come by the lodge. I’d like to properly thank you all with a meal—on the house.”

Jungkook raised an eyebrow, as he grain “Free food, huh? Now you’re speaking my language.”

Taehyung nudged him playfully, rolling his eyes. “Jungkook, seriously? We just got out of a cell, and the first thing on your mind is food?”

“Well, I’m just saying!” Jungkook shrugged with a sheepish smile. “I’d never turn down a free meal, especially after everything that happened.”Jimin chuckled, “We’ll definitely take you up on that offer, Chaeyoung. But… are you sure you want to see us again after all the trouble we caused?”

“Of course I do,” Chaeyoung replied with a nod. “I don’t want our only meeting to be inside a police station.” She glanced at each of them, her gaze lingering a moment longer on Jimin “Besides, I’d like the chance to talk more… without the bars in between.”

Taehyung and Jungkook exchanged a look, knowing smiles spreading across their faces as they glanced back at Jimin who suddenly seemed a little flustered. “W-Well, we’ll see,” Jimin managed to say, scratching the back of his neck nervously. “If we’re around, we’ll stop by.”

“Good,” Chaeyoung said with a small smile, her eyes lighting up. “I’ll be looking forward to it.”

The trio gave her one last nod and started to walk down the street, their figures slowly fading into the distance.

After this as she turned to leave, Chaeyoung noticed some movement out of the corner of her eye. She stopped and held her breath as a man stepped out of the alley, watching the trio closely.

“Where are you going?” he said, smirking in a way that made her uneasy. He moved closer, and Chaeyoung felt a shiver run down her spine.

“You shouldn’t have done that, Miss Jung,” he said in a low, dangerous voice. “Involving those boys was a mistake.”
