DK let out a deep sigh as he rested his head on Nabi's lap, his eyes fluttering shut while she ran her fingers gently through his dark hair. The soft motion of her fingertips massaging his scalp was soothing, almost enough to lull him to sleep after a long day of rehearsals.
Nabi smiled as she watched him relax under her touch, his usual energy temporarily dimmed by exhaustion. It was rare to have these quiet moments together, just the two of them.
"You're really tense," she murmured, continuing the soft massage.
"I've been dancing all day," he mumbled, voice slightly raspy from overuse. "Hyung said my moves looked too sharp, so I had to redo the same part over and over again. I think my body is rebelling against me now."
She chuckled softly. "You work too hard."
He peeked one eye open. "It's part of the job."
Nabi traced small circles against his temple, making him hum in appreciation. "Still, don't overwork yourself. You need to rest too."
"I am resting," he said, smirking slightly. "On my girlfriend's lap. Best pillow ever."
Nabi rolled her eyes playfully but didn't stop her movements. "You're lucky I like you."
DK grinned, but then his smile faded as he remembered the reason he had come over. He hesitated for a second before speaking.
"You should come to Japan with me."
Nabi paused for a moment, surprised. "What?"
"For the concerts," DK repeated, shifting slightly to look up at her better. "I really want you to come. You haven't seen me perform live yet."
Nabi bit her lip. She knew how much his performances meant to him, and truthfully, she did want to go. But she had work, and it didn't seem practical.
"Seokmin..." she started, unsure how to phrase her response.
"I know, I know," he interrupted, sensing her hesitation. "You have your job, and you're busy. But listen—one of the concerts is on a Saturday. You wouldn't even have to take days off. You could just come for the weekend."
She blinked. "A Saturday?"
He nodded quickly, his expression hopeful. "You could fly in on Friday night and leave Sunday. Just two days. You'd get to see me perform, and we'd have some time together." He reached up, taking her free hand in his and giving it a squeeze. "I miss you, Nabi. I know we talk every day, but it's not the same. I want you to be there."
Nabi hesitated, her fingers stilling in his hair. It wasn't that she didn't want to go. She did. She missed him more than she liked to admit, and the idea of watching him perform, of seeing him in his element, was exciting. But she also feared getting even more attached.
She was already in deep. Too deep.
Sensing her hesitation, DK suddenly grinned mischievously. "You know, the baby also needs to get used to his father's voice. And concerts."
Nabi let out a short laugh. "What?"
"It's true!" he insisted, sitting up excitedly. "Think about it. If our baby grows up hearing my voice on stage, they'll become my biggest fan. This is important for bonding."
Nabi shook her head, amused. "You're unbelievable."
"I'm just saying," he continued, flashing her a bright grin. "Our little one should start early. Get familiar with my singing, the fans, the concerts... Who knows, maybe they'll be born with perfect pitch."
Nabi laughed again, shaking her head. "You'll say anything to convince me, won't you?"
He nodded eagerly. "Absolutely."
She exhaled, thinking for a moment before speaking. "...Okay, I'll come for the weekend."
His grin stretched wide as he sat up quickly, almost knocking her back. "Yes! This is gonna be amazing." He grabbed her hands excitedly. "You won't regret it, I promise. I'll take care of everything—your flight, your hotel, everything. Just say yes."
She laughed at his sudden burst of energy. "I already said yes!"
He beamed at her before pulling her into a hug, burying his face in her neck. "You have no idea how happy this makes me," he mumbled against her skin.
Nabi closed her eyes, wrapping her arms around him. Maybe, just maybe, this was exactly what they needed.
A weekend together. A break from reality.
A chance to remind themselves why they had fallen for each other in the first place.
The next morning light filtered gently through the curtains, casting a soft glow across the room. The sound of the alarm buzzing faintly was the only disturbance in the otherwise peaceful silence. Nabi reached out, her hand still heavy with sleep, to turn it off. The warmth of DK's body beside her was comforting, his steady breathing filling the air. He was still fast asleep, his head tucked into the pillow, a strand of hair falling over his forehead.
Nabi couldn't help but smile at the sight of him—how cute and serene he looked, his lips slightly parted as if he were in the middle of a peaceful dream. She carefully slipped out of bed, trying her best not to wake him, but the cold of the morning air made her shiver slightly as she padded toward the bathroom.
The water in the shower was just the right temperature, and Nabi let it pour over her skin, closing her eyes as the steam wrapped around her. The quiet solitude felt calming, especially in the early hours before the world fully woke up. Her mind drifted to the little life growing inside her. She placed a hand on her belly, smiling at the thought of the baby, a tiny person that she and DK had created. She could already feel the change in her body—a small but noticeable bump that was just beginning to show at 17 weeks.
Nabi took a little longer than usual in the shower, letting the warmth soothe her muscles, which had been sore from a restless night. Her thoughts wandered back to DK—how excited he had been when they'd first found out they were expecting. The joy in his eyes when he had kissed her, telling her how much he already loved the little one inside her. It had been one of the happiest moments of her life.
After a while, she stepped out of the shower, the cool air brushing against her damp skin. She reached for the towel she had set out but, in the process, it slipped from her hands. It wasn't an issue, though. She wasn't in any rush. For a moment, she just stood there, taking in her reflection in the mirror. The bump was still small, but there was no mistaking it anymore. The soft curve of her belly was a gentle reminder of the life she was carrying. Nabi's fingers brushed over the bump tenderly, the excitement building in her chest once again.
She heard the soft shuffle of the bed behind her—DK's movements in his sleep. But it was only a moment before she caught a glimpse of him through the mirror, his eyes now half-open, watching her. His gaze locked on her, and Nabi's heart skipped a beat at the intensity she saw in his eyes. His lips curled into a smile as he propped himself up on his elbow, his body still relaxed but his attention fully on her.
"You look... amazing," DK's voice was low and raspy, still thick with sleep but filled with admiration. His eyes moved from her face down to her bare skin, then to the soft curve of her belly, and back to her eyes. The excitement in his gaze was undeniable. "You're... you're glowing, Nabi."
Nabi's cheeks flushed, her heart fluttering at the way he was looking at her. There was something about the way he said it—so full of love and reverence—that made her feel more beautiful than she had in a long time. She smiled at him, a little shy but equally as excited. "It's just the pregnancy glow, I guess," she teased softly, her voice laced with affection. "Nothing too special."
"Don't say that," DK murmured, his voice growing more intense as he shifted in the bed, sitting up fully now. His eyes never left her. He leaned forward slightly, his gaze filled with a mixture of awe and desire. "You're incredible. Just look at you... and our baby." His eyes dropped once more to her belly, his gaze softening. "It's... I can't even explain it. I'm so damn proud of you."
Nabi's heart melted at his words. She stepped closer to him, her bare skin still cool from the shower, but his warmth was inviting. She couldn't help but smile at the sincerity in his voice, the way he always seemed to make her feel like the most important person in the world. She moved slowly, drawing closer to the bed, her heart racing as she met his gaze.
Without saying anything, she placed her hands gently on her stomach, as if offering him a small peek into the miracle they were both a part of. She could see the way his eyes softened, the admiration in them turning into something deeper, something more passionate. He reached out, his hand hovering near her belly, just above it. There was a hesitation, but it wasn't out of uncertainty—it was the reverence he felt for the life they were creating.
"You want to feel?" Nabi whispered, her voice soft but filled with anticipation.
DK's eyes locked with hers, and for a moment, everything else in the room seemed to disappear. The weight of the moment hung in the air—full of love, excitement, and a burning desire. Without another word, he gently placed his hand over hers, pressing it lightly against her belly. They stood there for a moment, both of them feeling the connection, both of them feeling the tiny miracle that was growing between them.
Nabi's breath caught in her throat as she saw the way DK's eyes shone with a mixture of love and awe. His hand lingered there, his thumb brushing softly over her skin. "You're so beautiful, Nabi. Everything about you is just perfect," he murmured, his voice low and full of emotion. "I can't wait to meet our little one. I just... I love you so much."
The words hit her in a way she didn't expect. She felt her heart race, the passion and longing in the room becoming undeniable. Without thinking, she leaned down, her lips capturing his in a soft kiss. It started slow, tender, as if they were savoring the moment, but quickly deepened as the intensity of their emotions flooded them both.
DK's hands cupped her face, pulling her closer as their lips moved together in perfect harmony. The kiss was filled with love, with passion, and with the raw, undeniable connection they shared. As they pulled away, both of them breathless, DK rested his forehead against hers, his hand still resting on her belly.
"I'm so glad it's you, Nabi," he whispered, his voice thick with emotion. "I want to be with you through all of this. Through every moment, every change... I want to be right here with you."
Nabi's heart fluttered at his words, her hands tracing the lines of his jaw. "We're in this together. Always."
The morning sunlight poured in, but neither of them was paying attention to anything outside the room. They were lost in the moment, lost in the love they had for each other.
