Hello, Kkami
Hyunjin really loved the moon.
It was the only view he never got tired of throughout his long years.
He swirled the glass in his hand as he leaned his forearm on the balcony railing, his eyes fixed on the full moon for a long moment before taking a sip.
He savored the taste before swallowing, his gaze shifting to the glass in his hand as a small smile made its way to his lips.
"Special blood... she says." He chuckled softly, his smile never fading as he sensed his dog’s presence on the balcony.
"Hey, buddy." He knelt down, grabbing some treats he kept around for his dog, smiling as he watched the dog eat as if it had never tasted food before.
"I wish life was as easy as it is in those novels she reads."

Jiyu hadn't had such a good sleep in forever.
But her sleep was disturbed by the weight she felt on her stomach.
Something was breathing...
Jiyu's eyes shot open. Blinking, she looked down without moving. She blinked again, watching the long-haired chihuahua sleeping peacefully on her stomach.
"Oh..."
She looked around, her eyebrows furrowing when she noticed her purse and phone on the nightstand. Carefully, she extended her arm, grabbing her phone to check the time.
Her eyes narrowed as she adjusted the phone’s brightness, but then widened when she saw the time. 12 PM.
"My god," she muttered in disbelief. "Good thing it's Saturday."
She sighed, placing the phone back on the nightstand.
She couldn't look at the ceiling for long since the dog woke up, making her look at it again.
"Well, hello there..." she cooed, gently lifting the dog up and stretching her arms.
"What are you doing here, little mister?" she smiled, not expecting an answer from the unbothered dog, who just looked at her calmly, not even barking.
"Let's go see what that grandpa of yours is up to..." she muttered, hugging the dog to her chest with one arm while moving the cover off herself with the other. She sat up, slipping on the fluffy slippers she found next to the bed.
Jiyu took light steps downstairs, feeling good and comfy in the nightgown, the fluffy dog nestled in her arms. She searched around the first floor, but he was nowhere to be found.
"Isn't he home?" she muttered. That’s when she felt the dog freeing itself from her grasp. She let it go, watching as it ran in tiny steps toward the mansion's door. Jiyu followed, opening the door so it could run outside.
Her eyes widened as she took in the beautiful garden, filled with various kinds of flowers and trees, with a stone path leading to the main gate. She followed the dog, smiling a bit when she spotted the vampire watering the plants. His calm, concentrated expression shifted into a smile when he noticed his dog running around his legs.
"Someone wants breakfast," Hyunjin said, smiling at his dog. But when he heard Jiyu’s silly comment as she walked closer, intertwining her fingers behind her back, he rolled his eyes playfully.
"Oh my, oh my, isn't the sun bad for your species?"
"Well, I’m not threatened by skin cancer because of a few rays… unlike your species." He looked at her, a little smirk playing on his lips—one that mirrored hers.
"Of course, you're too old to know about SPF," Jiyu said, rolling her eyes.
"I don’t care about what I don’t need," he shrugged before finishing watering his plants and turning fully to her. "You don’t feel like dying?"
Jiyu shrugged. "Well, not yet."
"Try to keep the streak going."
"My blood tastes that good?"
"As good as every single drop of B-type I’ve ever tasted."
"Can’t you even compliment me?"
"Why do you consider having tasty blood a compliment?"
"Duh, you’re a vampire. How else can you compliment someone?"
For the first time, Jiyu was the one who took a step closer. Hyunjin crossed his arms, shrugging.
"Well, I’ve lived long enough to learn a few ways."
"Not obviously."
Hyunjin ignored her teasing, walking past her as he waved for her to follow.
"Let’s make some breakfast. You mortals need good food to keep the streak alive."
"Is my lifetime a joke to you?!" Jiyu exclaimed, hurrying after him. Even with her fast steps, she could barely keep up, and the little dog followed in even tinier steps.

"So, what’s the baby's name?" Jiyu asked as she hugged the dog again, hopping onto the empty spot on the counter next to Hyunjin.
"Kkami," Hyunjin answered as he gathered the ingredients to make pancakes.
Jiyu smiled at Kkami, who looked way too comfortable in her arms, then turned to Hyunjin with wide eyes, dramatically recounting how terrified she was when she felt something breathing on her while she was sleeping.
"I was fast asleep, then I felt something breathing! On my stomach!"
Hyunjin chuckled. "Did you think it was me?"
Jiyu nodded rapidly, her eyes still wide. "But it was just Kkami—way cuter."
"Can’t argue with that," he said, glancing at Kkami and giving him a quick pat before focusing back on the pancake mixture. "Couldn't be me, though."
He extended his hand toward Jiyu, holding it right in front of her face. She blinked in confusion, then placed Kkami in his hand.
Hyunjin sighed. "Not Kkami, your hand, idiot." He clarified, gently placing the dog on the floor.
"Oh…" Jiyu nodded stupidly before placing her hand in his when he extended it again.
He pulled her hand close to his nose, locking eyes with her as a small smile played on his lips, clearly amused by her confused expression.
A few seconds passed before Jiyu's eyes widened in realization.
"No breathing!"
Hyunjin chuckled at her reaction. "Exactly." He let go of her hand and then extended it again, this time forming a fist. "Check my pulse."
Jiyu hesitated for a second before carefully grabbing his wrist with her smaller hands, pressing her thumb against it, searching for the usual rhythmic beat. But she felt nothing.
"Nothing," she muttered.
Hyunjin nodded, gently slipping his hand out of hers before returning to preparing the meal while Jiyu observed him.
"Were you human before?" she asked.
He shook his head, not looking at her. "I was born a vampire. We stop aging at twenty-five."
"My current age," she muttered.
Hyunjin opened the fridge, took out a bottle of fresh orange juice, and poured her a glass before handing it to her.
"But I need coffee…" Jiyu mumbled, eyeing the glass.
"After breakfast. Your body needs fresh fruits and vitamins since you give blood," he said firmly.
She pouted slightly but took the glass anyway.
"Now that I think about it—why don’t you bite? Since all vampires do." Her curiosity got the best of her.
"It’s not my favorite thing to do."
"Why? Does it turn you on?" Jiyu asked slyly.
Hyunjin rolled his eyes. "If you think I still get sexually frustrated that easily after living for thousands of years, you seriously need help," he scoffed before popping a blueberry into her mouth.
Jiyu didn’t say anything at first, her eyes lighting up as she savored the taste.
"How can it taste this good?" she asked, wide-eyed.
Hyunjin placed another berry in her mouth. "I plant them."
And just like that, Jiyu was perfectly silenced—content to sit there while he fed her berries every now and then as he cooked breakfast. She stayed calm, quietly enjoying the fruit and the juice she had just been whining about moments ago.
