He was standing in the middle of a street — foggy, cold, eerily silent. Everything around him felt... wrong.

Then he saw her.

Jisoo.

She was standing on the opposite side, her face pale, eyes full of something he couldn't read — fear? Betrayal? Pain?

He tried to call out to her, but his voice wouldn't come out.

Suddenly, a loud screeching sound pierced the air.
A car came rushing toward her.

"JISOO!" he screamed — but it was too late.
The car hit. Her body collapsed.

Blood.

Everywhere.

Her lifeless eyes stared at him. Blaming him. Begging him.

“Why… didn’t you protect me…?”

His legs gave out. He fell to the ground, clutching his head, screaming her name again and again.

Back in reality...

"JISOO!"
Taehyung shot up in bed, gasping for air.

His entire body was drenched in sweat. His hands were trembling. His heart was racing so fast it felt like it might tear out of his chest.

He looked around, still trapped between the dream and reality. The room was dark and still, but the image of Jisoo—broken, bloodied—haunted his mind like it had actually happened.

He placed a shaking hand over his face, whispering, "Why does it still feel so real…?"

Taehyung was still shaken. The dream clung to him like a shadow — every detail too vivid, too real. He couldn’t sit still. He couldn’t think of anything else.

Without a second thought, he threw on a jacket, grabbed his keys, and rushed out.

He didn’t stop until he reached the office.

As soon as he spotted Jisoo, he walked straight toward her — eyes locked, face pale. Without a word, he grabbed her hand and pulled her along.

Everyone around turned, stunned. Whispers began to swirl through the air.
“What’s going on?”
“Why is Taehyung acting like that?”

Jisoo barely had time to react. Her eyes widened in shock.
“Wait—Taehyung—what are you—?”
She tried to resist, tugging her hand gently, but he didn’t stop until they were inside his cabin.

He finally let go.

She stood frozen, confused, and heart racing.

He stared at her—eyes scanning every part of her, as if checking she was really there. Alive. Breathing.

A long silence filled the room... until he finally relaxed with a sharp exhale.

Then, as if nothing had happened, he straightened his tone.

“Get ready for your next task,” he said coldly.
“You can leave now.”

Jisoo blinked, stunned. What just happened?

Without saying a word, she turned and walked back to her desk — her hand still slightly warm from his grip, and her mind filled with questions.

Something was off.

Something in his eyes had changed.

And for the first time, she felt it wasn’t just about work.

What the f*** I did ?????

Jisoo sat at her desk, still rattled from earlier. Taehyung’s sudden outburst, the way he had grabbed her hand, stormed into the cabin, and then—coldly dismissed her—it didn’t make any sense.

Everyone around her was whispering, sneaking glances. But she just stared at the photo on her desk, trying to steady her breath.

“What was that?” she murmured to herself.

That evening, after most of the office had cleared out, she stood quietly outside Taehyung’s cabin. Her heart was pounding, but she couldn’t leave without answers.

She knocked once.

No reply.

Another knock—this time the door creaked open slightly.

Taehyung was inside, standing by the window, his back to her. He didn’t turn around.

“You can’t just drag me into your office like that and act like nothing happened,” she said, her voice calm but firm.

He stayed silent for a moment, then finally spoke, his tone low.
“I needed to make sure you were okay.”

She stepped in, slowly closing the door behind her.
“Why? What’s going on?”

Finally, he turned. His face was pale, tired—haunted.
“I had a dream…” he began.
“You were standing across the road. A car came… you didn’t move. I screamed your name, but I couldn’t reach you.”

Jisoo’s eyes softened. She hadn’t expected that.

“Taehyung…”

He looked down, his hands clenched.
“It felt so real. You were gone. And it terrified me.”

Silence fell between them. Heavy, charged, and full of unspoken memories.

Jisoo took a slow breath.
“Is that why you looked at me like that today? Like I’d already disappeared?”

He nodded.
“Because once… I did let you go.”

Her heart skipped. Memories flooded back.

Flashback

Two years ago.
Rain poured as Jisoo stood outside the train station, suitcase in hand. She waited, hoping he’d come.

He didn’t.

Taehyung had made his choice—his career, his pride—over her.

She left without a goodbye. Without closure.

Back to Present

“So why now?” she asked quietly.

He looked at her, eyes tired but sincere.
“Because I don’t think I can do that again.”

Jisoo turned away, blinking fast.
Her voice broke softly, “You already did.”

And with that, she walked out—leaving Taehyung standing alone, in the silence he had created.

Jisoo walked out of Taehyung’s cabin, her chest tight, her eyes stinging. The hallway felt colder now. Her heart was stirring with old pain she thought she had buried long ago.

She returned to her desk, pretending to focus. But her hands were slightly trembling.

From across the room, Jungkook watched her silently. He’d seen everything — the way Taehyung had stormed in, grabbed her, then returned to his cabin like a man carrying a storm inside.

Later, as Jisoo sat alone in the break room, quietly stirring her coffee, Jungkook finally approached.

“Hey,” he said, softly.
She looked up, startled.

“You okay?” he asked, taking a seat across from her.

She forced a small smile. “Yeah. Just… a lot on my mind.”

He studied her for a second.
“I know it’s not my place, but… Taehyung isn’t the same when you’re around. He looks like he’s stuck between regret and something he’s scared to say.”

She looked down.
“We had a past. That’s all.”

“That’s not all, Jisoo.”
His voice was calm, but steady.
“I think he still carries you. And maybe... maybe he’s just afraid you’ve already moved on.”

She stared at the table in silence, the clinking of her spoon against the cup filling the gap between their words.

Jungkook leaned forward a bit.

If someone hurt you before, you don’t owe them forgiveness. But if part of you is still waiting for them to speak the truth… maybe you deserve to hear it.”

Jisoo gave a small nod, eyes still locked on her coffee.

Meanwhile in Taehyung’s Cabin

Taehyung sat slouched in his chair, fingers pressed against his forehead.

That dream… Jisoo disappearing… the train station… everything was rushing back.

He opened the drawer.

Inside was a worn envelope — never opened.

Her last letter.

He had kept it all this time… but never dared to read it.

His fingers hovered over it.

Finally, he whispered to himself,
“Maybe it’s time.
