APPLE JACKS POV
I was sitting and waiting for the bell to ring, to signal it was finally the end of the day.
I decided I was going to go talk to Rainbow Dash straight after school. Walk her home or something so we can talk it out.
Hopefully she won't get mad like she did earlier.
If she does though, I'll just... Have to leave her alone until she wants to speak to me.
I made my way to the school gate faster than usual when I remembered she actually had football practice. Great.
I debated on leaving now and coming back later when it ends or if I should just go home and speak to her tomorrow.
"You could come with us to watch her" Pinkie jamp out of nowhere scaring the life out of me
"Pinkie! Don' do that! Ya scared the life outta me" I put my hand over my heart, leaning down and sighing.
I stood back up so see not only Pinkie but also Twilight, Fluttershy and.... Sunset Shimmer? What? What happened?
I looked at her for two seconds too long before looking away, back at Pinkie.
"What?"
"You could come with us if you reallyyyyy want to talk to her. You were debating on what to do, right? Come on, let's go. It's never good to debate with yourself, silly" she grabbed my hand and dragged me away.
Hopefully this goes well..
Will this distract her from practice?
Hopefully not. I'd feel horrible.
We got there quite quickly as Pinkie dragged me with the others falling behind a bit
"There should be a bit of time before they start if you wanna try now." She spoke in her usual cheery voice.
How does she keep that up?
"Nah, ah'll wait until the end and speak to her then. Don't want to bother her before her practice"
"Yeah, that's smart actually. Let's sit up there." She pointed towards the middle row and we made our way up.
Once we took our seats, people were sitting around us for fun or to waste time, Twilight and Sunset then took their seats beside us.
"Where's Fluttershy?" Pinkie asked
I looked beside Sunset and she wasn't there.
"She said she was going to the bathroom and she will be back soon"
"Okayyyy. Oh! Look! They're starting their practice now. Dashie! Hiiii!" Pinkie screamed and waved when Dash looked up, being startled by Pinkies voice.
She simple throw up a peace sign and turned around, talking to her teammates.
"Ah! She acknowledged my existence. I can die happily now" Pinkie spoke as if Dash was some big celebrity, waving at a fan.
"Rainbow is yer friend, Pinkie. Calm down and stop screamin' please." I said, slightly embarrassed by the amount of people looking at us.
"What is going on? Why is Pinkie screaming? I could hear you from all the way down there" Fluttershy asked taking a seat beside Sunset Shimmer as it was the space available.
"She said hi to Dash, Dash threw up a peace sign and nothing more. Pinkie was very happy about that though" I explained.
"Oh ok. Makes sense." Fluttershy shrugged, with a bored look, watching the practice go on.
After Practice - RDs POV
The practice had just finished and I was about to go to the changing rooms to change. I usually just shower at home, more comfortable that way.
"Good practice today everyone! Next practice will be against the guys!" Spitfire yelled
"Yo, why exactly do we do that? Practice against the guys? Not like we'd ever actually play against them" I asked, not complained as it was fun
"For the fun of it and because it helps us deal with harder opponents. You complaining?" She gave me one of her side glares
"Not at all, they're fun. Just wondering, that's all" I said, rolling my eyes, looking away.
"Good. Get changed and go home. You did well today" she slapped my shoulder once before going over to her friends.
I just sighed, slowing my pace a bit
Does she hate me or what?
Seems like every time I say or do something I get a glare or something of that sort in return.
I haven't done anything wrong.
I think.
Maybe she just doesn't like me.
But that would be a common theme and I don't get it.
"Dashieee!"
I jamp when I suddenly heard someone running and screaming my name suddenly. Pinkie, who else?
I turned just in time for her to jump on me with a hug.
"You did sooooo well today!" She said as her arms and legs were wrapped around my neck and waist, I held her around her waist so she didn't fall.
"Thank you, Pinkie but get down. People might think we are dating or whatever. Not that there's anything wrong with that or you but we aren't, so. Get down please?" I looked her in the face and she faked a pout before returning to a big smile
"Okie dokie lokie!" She said as she jamp down, letting go of me entirely before speaking again.
"Will you shower or just change?"
"Change. Shower at home. Why?"
"Just wondering~" she sang "Also!" She got too close to my face making me back up a bit before she pulled me closer before whispering
"I think Twilight's got a date! Isn't that exciting?!"
Well whispered-yelled but that's just Pinkie for you.
"Very" I said before pushing her away from me and taking a step back looking at the others.
Twilight and Sunset Shimmer, Twilight clinging to Sunsets arm. Weird for her but Sunset clearly doesn't care.
Fluttershy, arms crossed, looking a bit bothered or annoyed. Why though?
And.... Apple Jack. Standing beside Fluttershy looking at me. I'm guessing she still wants to talk then? Why? I was a total bitch before... I guess I'll let her speak this time, I was being dramatic.
"Oh anddddd someone has something to say to you" Pinkie bounced out the way and put both arms out towards Apple Jack as if presenting her with a 'ta-da~'.
"Uh- oh no. Well yeah, but ah'll wait for ya to change first. We'll be here." She smiled at me but I looked over to Pinkie instead.
I'm such a bitch, oh my god. I'm reacting without thinking.
"I'll change now then." I said before turning and walking off.
APPLE JACKS POV
I exhaled a bit too loudly as Pinkie turned to the rest of us.
"I'd say that went well."
"Too well." Fluttershy said, quieter than usual but in a more.... Angry? Tone. How weird.
"Ah hope it goes well. Ah don' wanna upset or annoy 'er again. Just wan' to apologise and go back to normal with all y'all. Ah want her to let me talk and... We will be good again. Hopefully" I said more so to myself than the others, feeling a bit nervous.
"I'm sure it will go well, Apple Jack. Don't overthink it. The more you think, the more stressed you will be, which isn't good. If you aren't thinking clearly you might say something wrong. Just relax and make up with her." Twilight said with a reassuring smile
"And make out" Pinkie said in a loud whisper
"Pinkie!" I yelled and gave her a light slap on the shoulder with a smile, making her and everyone laugh. Except Fluttershy.
"Ok ok! Sorry~" she sang, still laughing, skipping to Twilight
"Piggy back?" She asked
"Get on" Twilight bent her knees a bit waiting for Pinkie to hop on her back. "Yayyy!"
"I'm going home now" Fluttershy said, shifting the entire mood.
"Why?" Twilight asked
"I don't want to wait anymore. I'm tired and I have stuff to do. Good bye, see yous tomorrow." She was about to leave before Rainbow came out of the changing rooms.
"You leaving without a bye? How rude." Dash joked but Fluttershy didn't laugh
"Where do you want to talk?" Dash looked at me, asking suddenly.
"Uh... Park? Don't know"
"Sure, let's go there now. Come on. Shy you good?" She asked
"I'm fine. Going home now. Bye." She said looking irritated with a slight frown before walking off, leaving the group in a tense silence for a moment.
"I'll go... Check on her.." Pinkie said slowly, hopping off Twilight's back.
"Tell us what it is and if she's ok." Twilight said
"I will. Bye guys, see yous tomorrow." She blew a kiss before running off
"What happened?" Dash asked
"No idea, she's been a bit off since earlier today. Did someone do something to her?" Twilight said
"She seemed more pissed than anything else. Did one of yous do something to annoy her?" Dash asked
"No one did. She hasn't really spoken much either"
"She doesn't speak much regardless. Let's just wait for Pinkie or Shy to say something. Let's go." Dash spoke before waving towards me to follow her.
Once we got out of the school building it was silent. Awkward and too silent. Do I speak first or wait for her to say something.
I mean... I am the one who wanted to speak to her, so I should speak first. Yeah.
"Rainbow. Ah have already explained myself before but ah'll do it again. Ah choose her because-" she cut me off
"She's your girlfriend. Yeah, I know. Sorry for being so dramatic earlier, really."
"It's fine, ah get it. But ah wanted to say that ah broke up with her. She's only gotten worse 'nd ah was over it. She's not apologising to anyone, explainin' her reasoning for her sudden drastic change in personality, it was all a lot. Didn't even apologise properly to me. Ended in an argument, I'm not shocked though." I explained as we neared the park gate.
Was there any point in going here anymore? Gonna say no as ithink this conversation is moving well and quickly. Maybe we could hang out afterward though?
"Ended in an argument? No one's shocked, AJ." She laughed, looking a bit too happy with the new found information.
"Someone's happy" I smiled down at her
"Eh, can't blame me. She is far too much. How did you deal with it for so long?"
I laughed "Referrin' to 'er as a 'it'. So rude." I took a seat on the nearest bench and she followed
There were a bunch of kids and parents around the park, the children were playing and screaming, running around, completely carefree, taking shots on the swings, going down the slide or using whatever else they found as their parents watched them closely or spoke to people around them, friends, family.
"Welp, shes not from this planet with how she is. Never met anyone quite like her." She laughed along with me.
"Wait 'til ya interact with the people from this area properly. There are quite a few of 'em."
"Oh how I'll enjoy that" she said sarcastically "but seriously, how did you deal with her for so
"No idea, just got use to it after a while, don't know. She's always been sorta.... Annoying? But ah didn' mind that after we became friends, got close, just how she was, we started datin' and she was fine at first but progressively got worse. Then somethin' changed, a massive change at that. She was nothin' like how she was before, ah didn't like it and neither did anyone else. Now, ah have broken up with her, it was necessary." I finished, looking off in the distance, feeling upset before snapping back to reality.
"Anyway! Let's change the subject because it's... Not it righ' now. Look, all ah really wanted to say was sorry and explain myself and hope you'd listen. Do ya have somethin' to say?"
"Nah, not really. I understand why you did what you did, I guess. Wanna hang?" She asked
I smiled feeling happy again, hopefully we go back to normal now and nothing ruins that again.
I agreed and we hung out the rest of the day, we bought snacks, walked about, spoke, I gave Dash a piggy back as she didn't feel like walking anymore, we joked about and eventually it was getting dark as it was autumn now.
I walked her home, dropping her off at her door and literally dropping her on the stairs up to her house, causing her to scream and hit me.
"Could've gave a warning!" She said in an annoyed voice and I only laughed causing her to do the same.
"Shut up! It's not funny" she complained whilst trying to hold her laugh
"Oh shhh, it's funny. Even yer laughing" I laughed and poked her forehead and she swatted my hand away as if it were an annoying bug in her face but she missed.
"Stop it." She said trying to sound serious but failing ending in a laugh instead.
Suddenly the door flew open and a woman stood there, Rainbows mum I would assume.
"Rainbow Dash! Where hav- is this your friend?" She quickly switched from an angry, worried tone to a sweet, questioning tone within a second as if it were second nature to her.
"Uh- mum, hi. Yeah, that's AJ- Apple Jack. Her name is Apple Jack." Dash said looking at her.
"Hi, my name is Apple Jack, it's nice to meet ya" I smiled, putting my hand out to shake hers and she took it with a smile.
"Nice to meet you finally. Rainbow said a lot about you, and I mean a lot. You treating her well?" She said in a more intense way than before.
"Oh-" I looked at Dash and she looked half way embarrassed.
"Mum, leave her alone, we're good, chill out. I was with her, we made up and we are good. Go in, I'll be there in a minute."
"Ok, ok. Just making sure my baby is ok, you can't blame me" her mum said with a slight sassy tone before walking back into the house, shutting the door.
"Ya told yer mum?" I smirked at her and she looked at the ground, rubbing her left arm, nervously.
"She realised I was bothered by something so I just told her what it was, she had already heard of you before so she was shocked to hear to put it simply."
"Oh? So ah was brought up multiple times within yer house?" I asked in a teasing tone, she simply whined in annoyance
"Shut up, I spoke about everyone, including my teammates. Don't think you're special." She said in the same sassy tone as her mum
"Aren't y'all a sassy family?"
"Eh, mostly on Thursdays" she joked
"How come?" I continued for the fun of it
"Just feels like a fancy day, you know what I'm saying?" She shrugged looking at me again with a happy look on her face.
"Not really"
"Well you suck ass so" she laughed when she saw my face go from a gentle smile to a look of shock at the sudden insult.
"Excuse you" I shook my head
"You should see your face right now, could make a good album cover."
"So yer basically callin' me pretty then?"
"Shut up. Go home."
"That ain't a no" I laughed as she looked flustered and embarrassed, slightly annoyed
"Bye Rainbow~" I waved as she was holding back a smile, walking into her house before flipping me off, I laughed as she shut the door as I began walking.
"Bye AJ!" She called out and I turned back around, facing her again, she was leaning out the door as it was opened just enough for her to hang out of it.
"Bye Rainbow, ah'll see ya tomorrow" I smiled, waving happily at her
"Yeah, see you tomorrow" she waved back with a big smile before moving inside again, the smile not leaving her face for a second as she shut the door.
I happily exhaled, turning on my heels and walking home with a bit more life in me than I was originally expecting when thinking about my walking home after talking to her but I really couldn't complain. I was happy. Properly happy for the first time in a while. Not that my life was bad, it wasn't, more so just all the negativity from Rarity messing me up a bit.
Rainbows fresh and happy nature really helps clear that all out and you don't really realise until it's gone. Am I glad that she was back in my life.
I should've known who to choose from the start. I did know. I just... Lied... Go myself. I knew deep down that was wrong. Especially after the look in Rainbows eyes after talking to her that day. Hurt. She was hurt. And that hurt me knowing that I was the cause of it.
But it's ok now and I will keep it that way. At the very least I'll just do my best.
I made my way home, feeling happy and relaxed, I took a shower, got changed, dried my hair and lay in my bed.
12:37am.
That was the current time and everyone was asleep.
I went onto my phone to check it quickly, nothing all that interesting. I then went onto my photos app, checking out the photos from today with Rainbow.
I smiled, scrolling through them.

Pictures of the landscapes and shops as the sunset.
Pictures of us together, posing, smiling, Rainbow on my back, Rainbow wearing my hat, Rainbows messy selfies after she stole my phone and ran away with it.

A photo of our faces a bit too close, we didn't mind though.
We had fun.
It was a fun (half) day.
I didn't regret a second of it, I loved every second of it and I'm sure she did as well.

I rewrote this ENTIRE chapter
It was originally a bit dramatic but I (after rereading) didn't want to deal with that and neither did (certain one - I'm not complaining though) yous, yous want AppleDash and yous are finally getting there lol
This rewrite has 2000-ish more words than the original writing as well
I think it's got the most words out of all chapters so far - 3135 story words - it is btw I checked
But yous deserve it as I'm always late with uploads and making yous wait for so long for AppleDash to even start lol
