I just turned 18 today. I lay down in my makeshift bed, and dream of the past year.
~My first kill. An older woman walked down the street, alone in the dark. I had resisted the urge to feed for a week and a half since I realized what I was, and now survival instinct had taken over. I crept slowly towards her, she seemed to sense my presence and subconsciously sped up her pace. My hungry red eyes followed her progress towards a convenient alley way. I sped towards it faster than her eye could see, and waited for her to approach me. She slowed down a little, her instinct sensing she was heading toward danger. But she shook her head and continued on. I patiently waited at the alley's dark mouth for her. Then i grabbed her half way past the gap in the buildings and quickly snapped her neck, she cried out silently as the life drained from her eyes. But lost as I was in my starving mind, i hardly noticed and quickly began to feed. And as the tangy red liquid passed down my throat I began to feel myself wakening. Soon I realized what I was doing, and began to cry but my body needed her life's blood to survive, I kept draining till every last drop was sucked from her body. Then I sobbed, and rocked back and forth, her head in my lap, my fang marks in her neck.
"I'm sorry, I'm so sorry." I told her as I rocked.~
I woke up crying for that poor woman. Since then I'd stolen from blood banks, and discovered that I could feed off animals and they wouldn't turn in to vampires. So I could leave them alive and just take a pint and they'd be fine, but I knew that if I fed on a human and let them live, like someone had done to me, they'd be cursed to live like this forever.
I had, through out the last year headed for the wilderness of Canada, where the temptation to feed on humans would go away considering not many humans lived in the wilds of Canada. And today I would make it, right now I was on the outskirts of the last town before the wilderness really began. It was cold up here in the fall and would be cold most of the year but I no longer needed warmth to survive.
I finally headed out into the woods.
Now that i have posted 3 chapters, comments will be needed to get me to write more...
