"Don't die," Eren said as hot tears were streaming down my face. "Please be safe, don't forget about me."
I looked at him and kissed his quivering lips to make my promise to him. He pulled me in and kissed me back, grabbing my waist and pulling me in deeper into his touch. I melted under his warm lips and I pulled away weakly, giving him a bright smile.
"You remembered?" I asked as tears still fell from my face, realizing that he quoted what I once said a very long time ago when we were children. He let out a small laugh and hugged me again, burying his head in my shoulders.
"Of course I remember," Eren gently whispered as I felt his warm breath tickle my ear. "Those words that you said when we were young is something I'll never forget. I want to always keep my promises to you, (Y/n)," Eren confessed as he placed a soft kiss on my neck and peered into my face, caressing my face in his hand.
His eyes grew soft and gentle as we stared at each other for a while. I blushed and grabbed the hand that was holding my face and held it tightly, feeling his love through his gestures.
"Can you stay with me, Eren?" I asked shyly while blushing. "At least until I fall asleep?" Eren smiled and nodded his head while picking me up and placing me in his lap, kissing the top of my head.
"Of course, (Y/n)," Eren agreed as he gave me a weak smile. "I'll stay with you."
I smiled happily as I wrapped my arms around his neck and leaned down into his chest, making him fall onto his back onto the bed. Eren's cheeks flushed as he moved my (h/c) hair away from my face.
"You're so beautiful, (Y/n)," he huskily whispered as he looked deeply in my (e/c) eyes, his teal eyes sparkling in lust.
I laid on top of him and I kissed his bottom lip teasingly. Eren placed his hands on my sides and lowly growled in dissatisfaction as he smashed his lips onto mine roughly at first, but then was loving and more gentle. We showed each other how much we would miss being together as we kissed each other like we would never see each other again.
We soon parted from each other to catch our breath for a second, but before I could comprehend anything, Eren flipped us so he was now on top of me. The mattress creaked under the sudden pressure as Eren had his arms trapped around my body, towering over me and peering down.
"There's something about you (Y/n) that makes me feel like I'm the luckiest guy in the world. Only you can make me feel this way, nobody else," Eren confessed in a serious yet gentle tone. I felt content yet slightly embarrassed as my head tilted away from him shyly. Eren then took my chin with one of his hands and forced me to look at him, wearing a kind smile. He then slowly leaned down onto me and pecked me on the lips before getting back off of me and standing up from the bed.
I hesitantly began to sit up, fixing the bed sheets before laying back down onto the mattress. He took off his shirt and tossed it on the ground before crawling back into my bed covers. I watched him get settled in and I smiled brightly at him when he leaned on his side to face me.
"Good night, (Y/n)," Eren wished as he snuggled further into my cozy blankets, pulling me against his bare chest. I stared at his tired, peaceful face before turning the other direction, pushing my head into my pillow.
"Good night, Eren," I whispered before closing my eyes and forcing myself to go to sleep.
I tried to controll my breathing as I listened to Eren's light snores, he was already out like a light. I smiled to myself as I thought about all the reasons on how amazing Eren was. He isn't a selfish person, he knows his boundaries and doesn't do anything rash or forceful. He would do anything to make me happy, he cares a lot about me. He is protective of the people he loves, he would put his friends and family before him and anything else. And most of all... he makes it easy to fall in love with him.
The thought of wondering if he loved me back made me anxious. I knew he loved me like family, but I was always unsure if he there was ever a deeper connection. I know we're dating but how do I know that it's not just going to be a fling. The thought of us and our relationship was running through my mind as I drifted off into a light slumber.
I tossed and turned in discomfort as I tried to fall back asleep. I moved my body in impossible positions, trying to find some sort of way to get comfortable. I checked my alarm clock beside me on my nightstand and it was only 2:47am.
I groaned in annoyance and decided to just get up and make some tea. I sat up from my bunk and felt Eren stur under the sheets next to me. I waited for him to stop or wake up but luckily he went back to sleep. I carefully crawled out of bed and tiptoed to the bedroom door. I opened it slightly as it creaked and I shut it behind me with a quiet click.
I dragged my feet lazily to the kitchen and brewed myself tea, noticing a pot of black tea already made but half-full. 'Levi must be up,' I thought as I poured the tea into a mug and walked down the halls. 'I wonder where Levi is staying? Maybe if he's up, I can keep him company since I'm already awake,' I glanced down all the halls and stopped by a door which had low light pouring from underneath it.
I pressed my ear to the door and I heard the quiet sound of the rustling of papers. 'Must be him.' I knocked gently on door and whispered through the door.
"Pst, Levi. It's (Y/n), can I come in?" I asked and soon enough, I heard the sound of crisp footsteps moving closer towards the door. I moved away from the door as the short, raven haired man opened the door a crack. When he saw that it was only me he then opened the door wider before walking back over towards the desk in the room.
I walked into the room and saw piles of paperwork stacked in different areas on the desk. A small lantern as a desk lamp in the corner that was dim, but bright enough to light the room. Levi sat in the desk chair, leaning back and taking his mug to his lips; holding the cup in his weird way where he holds the cup from the top instead of using the handle.
"What do you need?" He asked sternly as he took a sip of his black tea.
"Oh, well I don't need anything," I started as I sat down on the bed near his desk. "I can't fall asleep and I figured since you're already up, I could keep you company."
Levi nodded as he placed his mug on the desk in front of him, "Understood."
Levi piled his stray papers into a separate pile on his desk before walking over to the bed, sitting next to me. "Is it another nightmare? Or are you nervous about leaving to be part of my squad?" Levi asked straightforward, knowing I didn't just come visit him for no specific reason.
I laid on my back and felt the soft mattress underneath me. Levi's mattress was less stiff as the ones in the cadets' bunks, so the instant impact of my back hitting the mattress sent comfort throughout my body.
"I guess you could say both," I yawned out as I turned my head towards Levi. He raised one of his eyebrows at me but I continued. "I mean, I'm excited to be part of your squad, Levi, believe me, I've been looking forward to this my whole life."
"But," Levi motioned for me to continue.
"But I don't want to leave my friends behind, I just reunited with my three best friends from childhood who I convinced myself for about 7 years that they were dead. I finally reunited with them and now I'm going with the higher-ups and will possibly never see them again. I'm afraid of losing them for a second time, losing them to the Titans like my family did," I confessed as I kept reseeing images of my past. Memories of horrific images of my mom being torn apart in half and my dad being eaten alive right in front of me.
Levi looked down at me with a tint of sadness in his eyes as he tried to comfort me before I burst into tears. After a few moments of silence, Levi spoke up when he thought I was calming down.
"I'm not trying to sound rude, (Y/n), but in the world we live in, no one is ever safe. I've seen so many of my friends die that I can't even keep count anymore. We don't have the time to mourn over every soldier or every friend who dies in battle," Levi said with his stern look but his eyes were getting moist as he paused for a second. "Do you remember when I told you about my past, (Y/n)?"
"Yes," I nodded as I stared at him intensely. "You told me the story about the Underground, your —" I stopped myself from continuing even further as I looked up at Levi hesitantly.
"If you have something to say, say it," he commanded sternly.
He knew what I was going to say but it felt like he wanted me to realize how much pain he's been through but he had to deal with all of it. Just like I should when I start training on his squad tomorrow.
"Farlan and Is— No, I'm so sorry Levi," I apologized as I sat up and hugged him. "If you could go through all of that pain alone like you have been, then I should be able to deal with something as trivial as being on your squad and leaving my friends behind for another year or so."
Levi slowly wrapped his arms around my back to hug me back as I felt a single tear fall from his face and land on my shoulder. "I'm so sorry," I repeated over and over again as we sat there mourning for a while.
Levi was the first to break apart, his eyes were a little bloodshot. "Just know that even if you believe you'll never see your friends again, know that someday in a different world, you could all be united once again and they'll always be with you," Levi said pointing to my heart. "I believe one day, I'll be able to see my friends again. Just like if your friends ever die in battle, they won't die in vain and you will be able to see them again too."
I smiled at the hope of maybe seeing my friends again in a different world if they don't make it. I laid myself back down and felt a wave of fatigue wash over me. Levi noticed and placed a blanket over me, lifting my head up slightly to lay a pillow down beneath my head.
"Go to sleep. You're going to need as much energy as possible," Levi ordered as he tucked me in like he used to when he and Erwin first found me. I was confused at what he meant and turned to look at the clock on his desk, it was 4:26am.
Oh.
Levi rolled his eyes as if he knew what I was thinking and patted my head before moving back towards his desk, "Happy 16th birthday, (Y/n). Sweet dreams."
I closed my eyes and smiled to myself, thinking of a new world that Levi was talking about earlier. A world where there are no Titans. Maybe it could be the world that Armin's book talked about: with places of the flaming water, the land of ice and the fields of sand.
#####
My eyes slowly opened as I woke up to the sound of people talking hurriedly outside Levi's door. I looked to my side and realized that Levi was already gone, but I noticed a piece of paper folded on the bedside with my name on it. Out of curiosity, I reached out and grabbed the note and opened it.
'(Y/n),
I grabbed your bags and other belongings from your room and put them with mine and Hanji's in her temporary lab/room. Don't worry, they won't get dirty or disintegrate. Also, why did I find that Jaeger boy sleeping in your bed? Never mind, that's a discussion for later. Anyways, I left you some of your best clothes from Headquarters on my desk for you to change into. At least try to look presentable, brat.
P.S. Happy Sweet 16
~Levi'
"Wow, thanks, Levi," I muttered sarcastically as I rolled my eyes, smiling at the note. I sat up and jumped out of bed with excitement.
'Today's my birthday!' I squealed on the inside.
I grabbed my clothes off of the desk and looked down at them. It was a (f/c) dress that went just above my knees, quarter sleeves and cross stitching in the back that revealed a tiny bit of skin. Next to it was a silver headband, black flats and a velvet box.
'Huh?'
I picked up the velvet box, reading that the tag on it said that it was to me from Levi. I opened it up and inside was a heart shaped locket with the first letter of my first name ingraved in it. I opened it up and inside was a picture of Erwin, Levi and I, sitting together for a picture. I had to be 10 at the time, it was a few months after they took me in. Erwin and I were smiling while Levi had his deadpan expression.
I laughed to myself and placed it gently around my neck and clasped it together. I put on the dress and other accessories, then placed my feet inside the flats. I styled my hair into a side braid and was satisfied with my look. I was about to leave but decided to make the bed before Levi flips out on me.
I was heading for the door but stopped my hand from turning the door knob when I heard hurried footsteps and hushed voices. I tried to strain my ears on the voices to get out bits of information, but they were too quiet to make out the whole conversation.
"We need to hurry..... she finds out..... plan will be ruined..."
"Don't worry....won't know a thing...almost ready."
The information that I caught confused me and made me worry.
Are they talking about me?! What plan?!'
I started to panic but kept a cool attitude and opened the to see two of my friends, Armin and Mikasa standing in the middle of the hallway. They both looked at me and froze in their place, but Mikasa quickly recovered first.
"Good morning, (Y/n). Happy birthday!" She celebrated as she gave me a hug. I was dumbfounded but parted away from her first.
"Good morning, Mikasa and Armin," I said nonchalantly.
"Happy birthday, (Y/n)! You look really pretty," Armin complimented as he gave me a hug too. Mikasa joined in and hugged us in one big group hug.
"Guys. Can't. Breathe." I gasped for air jokingly. "We should be going to the Mess Hall for breakfast," I suggested as I tried to escape their hug which only made them hug me even tighter. "Hey, what's going on, let go of me," I ordered as I finally escaped their grasps.
Armin and Mikasa ran out in front of me with their arms out, blocking me from going to the Mess Hall. I tried to manuver around them but they kept getting in my way.
"Sorry, (Y/n)," Armin apologized as he kept blocking me. "We can't let you go just yet."
I groaned in annoyance as I tricked Armin and Mikasa to one side and booked it past them on the other side. I sprinted down the halls as I heard Armin and Mikasa yelling at me to stop or to wait. I ignored them and slowed my pace when I made it to the Mess Hall. I stopped dead in my tracks as everyone in the Mess Hall froze and stared at me.
Some cadets were finishing hanging up birthday balloons; some were almost done hanging up streamers and the rest of them were done decorating the tables and organizing the party gifts. I held a hand up to my face and my bright smile returned to my face.
Everyone gathered around me and wished me a happy birthday, farewell, etc. I was not only uneasy because it was so nice of everyone to do something for me, but I also ruined the surprise by being completely stubborn and selfish.
I thanked and hugged everyone, telling them all that I was going to miss them. It all felt like deja vu from my first farewell party at Headquarters. I finally finished thanking everyone and walked up to my smaller group of friends who were all sitting at our usual table.
"I'm sorry Mikasa and Armin," I apologized as a sat down in my usual spot. "I ruined the whole surprise by being so ignorant and selfish."
"It's okay, (Y/n)," Armin forgave me with a smile. "It wasn't fair for us to do that to you with out explaining at least a little bit." I smiled in relief and my shoulders relaxed hearing that.
"Anyways....Happy birthday, (Y/n)!" Jean cheered to clear the awkward silence.
"Happy birthday!" Connie and Sasha cheered at the same time.
"The big sweet 16!" Sasha smiled as she winked. "I bet you'll get lu...c..k..—" Sahsa started but was distracted when a few chefs brought out a huge birthday cake and other desserts. "Gotta blast!" Sasha yelled as she disappeared towards the food table.
"Potato Girl is never going to change, is she," Connie asked as he watched Sasha stuff desserts into her pockets.
"Nope," we all answered in unison.
"But you like that about her though, don't you?" I asked teasingly as Connie blushed and hid his face.
"I don't know," Connie mumbled shyly as we continued to tease him. I looked around the table and noticed that someone was missing.
"Hey, guys," I started as I got everyone at the tables attention. "Do any of you know where Eren is?" I asked as I searched the room with my eyes, trying to make it less noticeable that I was concerned.
"I haven't seen him this morning," Armin commented as he watched Sasha run over to the table with her jacket being three times the normal size, spots of her jacket bulging out.
"I brought us food!" Sasha yelled to us with excitement. "Lets feast!"
"Try checking his room. If not, he's probably outside somewhere," Jean suggested as he grabbed a cream puff from Sasha.
"Okay thanks," I said as I grabbed a handful of desserts and ran out of the Mess Hall.
The first spot that came into mind was Eren's bedroom.
'Jean said to check his bedroom, if not, he could be outside...'
I ran up and down halls until I came upon the boys room in their side of the hall. I walked up to Eren's bedroom and knocked on his door a couple times. It was silent, there was no response so I tried to open the door. The door was unlocked so I slowly opened it a crack to see if anyone was inside.
"Hello?" I called out before fully opening the door. "Eren, are you in here?" I searched around the room, no sign of Eren anywhere in the room. "I guess not," I mumbled as I shut the door behind me.
I proceeded to walk down the halls until I reached my room.
'Could he possibly be in my room still? Levi did say he saw him there this morning. Maybe I could ask Levi where he is.'
I reached my room and I opened the door. The familiar room had no evidence of Eren either. The side of the bed that he was sleeping in looked untouched. His shirt that was on the floor last night was gone, there was no telling if Eren was even in the room last night. Everything in the room was like it was before.
I started to get worried and decided to look for Levi and ask him. I left my room and shut the door behind me before heading off to "Levi's" office. I briskly walked down the hallways and stopped in front of the familiar wooden door. I lifted my fist up to knock but the door flew open and almost hit me. I jumped back and relief washed over me as I saw Eren's surprised face as he noticed me in the doorway.
"Y-Y/n?!—"
"Eren I was looking all over for you," I cut him off by hugging him, putting my head into his chest. He placed his strong hands on my fragile frame and hugged me back gently, running his fingers through my (h/c) hair.
"Happy birthday," Eren softly kissed my forehead and backed away when there was the sound of someone clearing their throat loudly.
"Ahem! *cough cough*" we both turned around and saw Levi standing there disgusted. "(Y/n), if it wasn't your birthday or your last day here, you and Eren would be running laps until you faint right now. Having a boy sneaking into your room past curfew and staying there overnight is completely unacceptable. I'm letting it slide for now, but I'm letting you both off with a warning. And Jaeger," Levi called out.
Eren stood straight, "Y-yes, sir?"
"Get out of my sight, brat," Levi ordered with a look of annoyance.
Eren saluted him, "Y-Yes, sir!" Levi clicked his tongue and went back to his desk to do paperwork.
Eren grabbed my hand and kissed my cheek, making me blush before he interlaced his fingers with mine. "Lets go celebrate your big day," he said with a small smile. I nodded my head as we left Levi's room.
"Tsk. Fucking disgusting," Levi stated as he pulled out files from his desk drawer.
Eren and I entered the Mess Hall and everyone was still celebrating together, no one probably even noticed I left besides my friends at the table. We approached our table and sat down next to each other in our usual spots. Armin was still reading his book and Jean looked bored half to death. Sasha was grabbing food from Mikasa's tray and stuffing her face still, cream and chocolate covered her face while Connie was practically drooling over her.
"Well that was fast," Jean stated as he gave Sasha one of his napkins to clean her face.
"Yeah, where were you?" Armin asked in concern as he closed his book. "You weren't in your room this morning." Eren almost unnoticeably blushed, I was able to see it but no one else caught it.
"I was in Captain Levi's office, no big deal," Eren responded quickly to cover up so our friends don't ask any more questions about it.
"Oh," Mikasa muttered as she swatted away Sasha's hand as she tried to grab more food from Mikasa's tray.
"Oh, you have to open your gifts, (Y/n)!" Connie said as he dragged me over to the table where all the gifts were.
"U-uh o-okay!" I responded excitedly as I stood near the table. I caught everyone's attention and began opening their gifts one by one. I received a lot of cute handmade cards, candy and letters. I opened everyone's gifts and said my "thank you"s before the Corporal came into the Mess Hall.
"Attention! Today, we are having an unscheduled day off," the Corporal started but was interrupted by everyone's cheering. "BUT, we will need to have at least two hours of hard training. The rest of the day is yours. The training you will do is your choice. Enjoy your day," the Corporal finished before leaving the room. Everyone finished what they were eating and ran outside to get their training done as soon as possible so they could quickly have their day off.
After I organized all of the gifts, I walked over to my friends as they were picking up and getting ready. All of us decided to go outside on the fields to train hand to hand combat for a while then work on balancing and gliding with our 3DMGs.
Once we were all outside, Eren suddenly pulled me aside and kissed me on the lips. He held my waist tightly and kissed me with a feeling I couldn't describe. I felt weak at my knees as my legs started to collapse but Erens strong arms held me up. I placed my hands on his chest, then wrapped them around his head to deepen the kiss. I ran out of breath sooner than usual because of the fact that he caught me off guard in the first place.
"W-what was that for?!" I asked embarrassed, remembering that we were in a public place, hoping no one was watching.
"I-I don't know," Eren stuttered with a shy smile. I pecked his lips once more and looked deeply into his mesmerizing teal eyes. "I have to go get part of your birthday gift, but it's going to take me a long time so I don't know how much time I'll have left with you when I come back," he whispered sadly into my ear. His hot breath on my neck tickled my skin and sent the hairs on my arms rising.
"Is that why you kissed me?" I asked teasingly as I playfully tugged at his arm, looking up at him. "Because you don't think you could spend the whole day with me?" I smirked as I saw the edges of Eren's mouth curl upwards.
"S-shut up," Eren pouted as he kissed me one last time on my lips then walked away.
I smiled to myself for being victorious over him, doing a little happy dance in my head. I ran through the crowds of cadets and eventually joined the rest of my friends.
"Hey, (Y/n)! Wanna be my sparring partner?" I turned my head to see Jean looking at me, cracking his knuckles. "I want to get my revenge from the first time we met," Jean added.
I laughed and cracked my neck, tilting my head side to side, "Oh you're on, Horse Face!"
Jean smiled and we walked over to an open area on the training field. I waited for Jean to get in his fighting stance as we circled around each other. Jean tried to make the first move, throwing a punch in my direction. I dodged his punch and kicked him in his gut. Jean gasped for air and I gave him an uppercut punch in the face. Jean groaned and held his head in pain before falling to his knees.
"Give up already?" I asked as I bent down on one knee to his eye level.
He smirked and stood back up, "Not yet."
Jean went back into his fighting stance, cracking his neck to the side before sending a glare my way. I stood up too with a smile on my face, glad that he's not going to quit so easily this time. He swung at me but I flipped away from him. I brought my fists up to punch him but I was a second too late when Jean immediately tripped me at my ankles. I fell to the ground and wipped the dirt off my clothes.
"Your slacking, (Y/n)," Levi called out from beside me. He gave Jean a slight nod before checking up on the other groups who were sparring.
Of course Levi notices me the one time I'm losing.
I rolled my eyes and stood up, my arms up in defense, "Let's go."
Jean and I sparred a little longer; I was winning most of the time, though Jean did put up a good fight. Jean threw punches at me which I continuously blocked, I swung at him and kicked at him which would knock him over a bit every once in a while. I finally had enough and jumped in the air while swinging my right foot at his chest. My foot connected to the left side of his chest and knocked him right into his ass. I wipped my hands on my clothes, looking down at Jean who was pouting on the ground. I lifted my arm up to help him up and he accepted it with shame in his eyes.
"I think we've had enough combat training for the day," I commented as I pulled Jean up from the ground.
"I'm never going to beat you or Mikasa, am I," he laughed in embarrassment as he wipped his hands on his pants. Jean took one of his hands out towards me, "Nice match though."
I smiled at him and shook it, "yeah, good match."
Jean and I decided to catch up with the rest of our friends to run a few laps for the remaining of our time. The six of us raced each other on the track for fun, Jean and Connie taking the races too seriously while Armin, Mikasa, Sasha and I jogged our remaining laps. We regrouped to take a quick water break before Hanji and Levi called out to us saying that training was done for the day and to pass the message on to the others.
All the other cadets celebrated as they all ran inside to do whatever they wanted for the rest of the day as my friends and I stayed back for a moment.
"Guys!" Sahsa screamed in excitement as we all sat down on the grassy field. "We should have another movie night tonight!"
"That sounds like a great idea!" Armin agreed as he adjusted himself in the circle.
"Yeah, I mean, tonight would be the perfect night anyways," Connie added as he sprawled his legs out.
Jean looked unimpressed as he crossed his legs," Well, yeah obviously, since (Y/n) is leaving tomorrow, tonight would be our only choice."
"Are you up for it?" Mikasa asked, motioning towards me and ignoring Jean's comment.
"Yeah sounds great!" I replied with enthusiasm. "I just hope I could last the whole movie," I added with a laugh.
Everyone laughed at my statement, remembering how the last time we all watched a movie, I was out like a light halfway through.
"Hey, (Y/n)," Armin started as our laughter died down. "Maybe you should pick the movie for tonight."
"U-uh, I don't really care what we watch. As long as I'm with you guys—"
"What a bunch of horse shit," Jean playfully complained.
"You would know," I spat back sassily as Jean flinched but shrugged it off.
"Whats your favorite movie?" Jean asked seriously, staring into my eyes.
"I-I wasn't lying before! Plus I don't have a favorite movie," I protested.
"Fine, we could discuss which movie we will watch later," Mikasa said as she stood up from her spot on the grass. "We should probably go back inside and get some food."
Sasha's eyes lit up and she immediately stood up too, "yeah!"
"Alright, lets go," Connie agreed as he, Jean and Armin stood up and headed back towards the building. Armin stopped in his tracks and turned to face me as everyone else went inside.
"Hey, are you okay, (Y/n)?" Armin asked as he noticed I didn't stand up to go with my friends.
"Yeah I'm fine," I lied as I put on a fake smile. Armin half believed me but didn't want to push me further.
"O-okay, well come into the Mess Hall with us soon, alright?" Armin said caringly.
I laughed and smiled at him, "haha of course. Thanks for caring about me, Armin."
He smiled and nodded before running off after our friends to meet up in the Mess Hall. I could help but worry where Eren has run off to. I remember he told me earlier that he might not be back until later but I couldn't help but wonder where he went. He said he was getting a part of my birthday gift for me but I don't want him to get into any trouble for it.
I shrugged my shoulders as I went into the Mess Hall to join my friends. I opened the doors and to my surprise, not many people were here. Usually it's packed but only a few tables were actually full. Maybe because everyone is going out somewhere for their day off. I walked over and grabbed a tray of food before I headed towards my friends.
"Are we going to have the movie in the same area as last time?" Sasha asked as she devoured her loaf of bread. "I mean, it was a pretty cool spot," she added as bread crumbs were flying from her mouth everywhere. Mikasa and I cringed as we tried to look away from Sasha when she was eating.
"Yeah, where else Potato Girl?" Jean rolled his eyes as he dug into his food.
"You don't have to be so rude about it," Sasha pouted as she shoved a baked potato into her mouth.
"So what movie are we watching, have you decided yet?" Connie asked me as he tried to avoid the conflict between Sasha and Jean.
"Well, I like Harry Potter but I know all of the movies are too long," I said as I was trying to think of other movies.
"What if it doesn't have to be a movie?" Armin stated as he put his food down on his tray. "What if we watch a few episodes or a season of your favorite show?"
'There's no way I could get everyone to stay and watch the first season of Death Note,' I thought to myself.
"How about we watch the movie Naruto?" I asked as I searched for everyone's reactions.
"Ooooh yeah!" Sasha replied as she giggled. "That sounds great!"
"Is that the movie of a ninja and fighting demons?" Connie asked, raising his eyebrow.
"Yeah is there a problem," Mikasa asked as she stared at him.
"N-no, just clarifying," Connie stuttered. "I've seen it before, great movie, just had to make sure I was on the same page," he added with a nervous smile.
"Okay cool!" Armin responded with his energetic self. "Us guys could set it up like last time outside, now that we know how to work the projector properly."
"Yeah last time setting it up was a disaster," Connie added with a roll of his eyes.
"Hey, it's not my fault! Blame Jaeger for being his stubborn ass self because he wouldn't let me touch the damn thing," Jean shouted with his face getting twisted in anger.
My hands were beginning to clench and I saw Mikasa flinch too when Jean kept insulting Eren.
"He may be stubborn, but you're just as bad," I responded, standing up for Eren.
"At least I'm not some dickhead who has a death sentence. That idiot doesn't ever keep his mouth shut when it comes to 'killing all the titans'," Jean added as he kept running his mouth.
"Shut up," I mumbled under my breath as my fists under the table tightened.
"That damn kid is so ignorant, every time I see his face I want to beat the shit out of it," Jean kept saying as the friends at the table tried to calm him down.
"Enough," I said outloud in my monotone voice. Jean ignored me and kept talking crap.
"Jaeger can't even control his anger either, I bet one day he's going to actually kill us—"
"SHUT UP!" I yelled at Jean as he and everyone in the Mess Hall stopped and stared at me.
Usually I'm cool and collected but he was really pushing me over the edge. I took in a deep breath and exhaled before continuing.
"That's enough, Jean. Not everyone can live up to your expectations of being perfect. Yeah Eren could be troublesome sometimes but who the fuck cares, he a human being and so are you. You need to calm down and not get your panties all in a twist over one of our friends."
Once I finished, I stood up from the table and emptied my tray. "Now if you'll excuse me," I said quietly as I left the Mess Hall.
When I opened the door and was out of the room, I ran outside not knowing where I'd run, just letting my legs take me where ever they wanted to go.
I ran through the training fields and I soon slowed down when my legs took me to the old red and white target and the old wooden crate of blades. A small smile crept upon my lips as I walked over to the crate of blades and grabbed a few.
I walked a distance away from the target and began throwing. My first, second and third blade hit the bulls eye, while my other two hit the white area surrounding it. I had one last steel blade left in my hand as I narrowed my eyes at the target. I lifted my arm up and was about to release it until someone called out my name.
"(Y/n)!!!" I turned my head to see Jean running towards me. I let out a loud sigh and threw my blade, hitting the center of the target with my other ones.
"What do you want, Jean," I asked, my voice dripping in annoyance.
"I-I came here to apologize for, you know, what happened in the Mess Hall a while ago," Jean started as he rubbed his arm shyly. "It's just that, maybe I'm...," Jean took in a deep breath before continuing. "Maybe it's because I'm jealous of him."
My eyes went round in shock as I walked up closer to him, "Why would you be jealous of Eren?" I asked as I waited for Jean to continue.
"Well," he started as he blushed and rubbed the back of his neck. "It's because I always see him hanging out with you and sometimes I wished that instead of him escorting you places, i-it'd be me," Jean added shyly.
I was about to open my mouth to speak, but was stopped when Jean grabbed my hands with his. I froze and didn't know what to do as Jean had the courage to continue.
"I really like you, (Y/n)", Jean confessed as he squeezed my hands. "I want to go out with you."
Oh shit.
I quickly shook away my thoughts of shock and fear and cleared my throat. I let go of Jean's hands and I shook my head, "I'm sorry Jean but I can't go out with—"
"WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING, HORSE FACE!?!" Someone yelled out in the distance.
Jean and I both turned our heads towards the direction where the voice was coming from as both of our eyes went round in shock. I felt Jean shake a little in fear and I saw his mouth drop open. My eyes went round at first but softened as I smiled, my heart was racing.
Eren was sprinting towards us, he was furious as his face was evidently red in anger. He had something in his hands, but dropped them on the ground and immediately ran up to Jean and punched him in the face.
My eyes went round in fear as I tried to hold Eren back, but he ingored me and continued to beat up Jean to a pulp. "E-Eren, it's okay. You could stop—"
"I'm not going to stop until he learns not to mess with me or my girl!" He yelled as Jean laid on the ground shocked but quickly recovered and pushed Eren off of him.
"Get off of me, Jaeger!" Jean yelled as he shoved Eren to the ground and kicked him.
Eren got up and kept punching Jean. The brawl lasted for what felt like forever, neither of them advancing over the other. I took in a deep breath and interfered, pushing Eren off of Jean who was on the ground with blood dripping from his nose and forehead.
"Get a hold you yourselves!" I yelled at them both. "We're all friends and classmates for crying out loud! Enough is enough, both of you should be ashamed," I added as I pulled Jean up from the ground and pushed him towards the direction of the infirmary. "Go to the nurse and go fix yourself," I demanded as Jean continued to give Eren the death glare.
"Fine," Jean mumbled under his breath and sprinted off towards the infirmary.
"And for you, Eren," I said as I turned and faced him. His teal eyes showed pain and anger but softened and looked sad. "Thanks for trying to protect me," I thanked as I kissed him on his cheek. He gave me a small smile and hugged me.
"I'll always protect you, (Y/n)," Eren whispered into my ear lovingly. I stayed in his arms until I remembered a question I had in my mind when I first saw him approach us.
"Hey, Eren," I started as he mumbled a response in my hair as he kept smoothing my head. "What was in your hands when you came over here?" I asked, Eren looked at me with sad eyes and let go of me.
He walked over to the spot were he dropped the objects and he bent down to pick them up. Eren walked back over to me with his hands behind his back.
"It was supposed to be part of your birthday gift," Eren started as he took one of his hands away from his back and revealed a bouquet of flowers that I've only seen in Armin's book. "But I think because of my selfish acts, I might have ruined them," he apologized as my eyes were round.
I grabbed the flowers from his hand and kissed him on his lips. "Thank you, Eren," I said after I parted away. "They're beautiful," I mewed in awe.
Some of them were what I think Armin called Sunflowers, there were a pretty shade of yellow with a dark center. There were also beautiful white daisies, the two flowers in Armin's book that I mentioned were my favorite so long ago.
'Eren remembered?' I asked myself.
A huge grin was on my face as I couldn't help but keep smiling at the flowers that I've always dreamt about seeing outside the walls. "I can't thank you enough, Eren," I thanked ecstatically as I hugged him one more time.
Eren rubbed my back and smiled, "I'm glad you like them." He laughed and poked at my smile that never seemed to fade away as we decided to walk back to the Mess Hall, his left arm around my waist as I carried the beautiful bouquet of flowers that he gave me.
We walked into the Mess Hall to see Mikasa, Sasha, Armin and Connie still sitting there at the table. They never moved their spots as they turned there heads and waved us over to them.
"Hey, Eren!" Armin greeted as he looked up from his book. His eyes went round in shock as he stared at the flowers in my hand. "A-Are those the same...?" Armin mumbled as he anxiously flipped through his book to try to find a specific page. His eyes lit up and put his finger on an image and held up his book. "Are those the same flowers in this book!?!" Armin asked excitedly.
I nodded my head as I handed Armin the flowers, "Yes they are. Aren't they gorgeous?"
Connie, Sasha and Mikasa leaned in over the table to get a better look at the flowers and the matching images in the book.
"Wow," Connie said as he stared in awe at the "exotic" flowers.
"Where did you go to find these?" Mikasa asked in a serious and concerned tone.
"Nowhere important," Eren responded as he avoided Mikasa's gaze.
"Eren...," she whispered and let out a small sigh. She looked away from us and returned her gaze back to the flowers.
"Is this why you left?" Sasha asked as she touched the petals of one of the daisies.
"Yeah, it's part of (Y/n)'s birthday gift," Eren replied as he peeled Sasha's hand away from the flower, making sure she doesn't ruin them. I giggled at the sight and picked up the flowers gently with care.
"I better put these in a cup of water before they wilt," I excused myself as I stood up to go to the kitchen.
"Wait, (Y/n)!" Connie called out before I left the table. "Did Jean apologize to you yet?" He asked in concern. I noticed in the corner of my eye that Eren's fists clenched but I simply nodded my head.
"Yes," I replied. "He did."
"Where is he?" Armin asked as he looked around the Mess Hall.
"He'll be back soon," Eren replied as he stood up to follow me. We both excused ourselves and headed towards the kitchen to go get a cup of water for the flowers.
We walked into the kitchen, none of the chefs were in there anymore to my surprise. I placed the flowers down on the counter and made my way over to the cupboards where the cups were. Unfortunately, I was a little too short to reach the cups until I was suddenly lifted up into the air. I looked down and blushed when I saw Eren holding me up with his strong arms supporting my waist.
"Hurry up, (Y/n). You're heavy," Eren teased as I nodded and quickly grabbed a cup before being gently set back down on my two feet. I placed the cup next to the flowers and then punched Eren in the arm playfully. "Hey," he laughed as he rubbed his arm.
"I'm not that heavy," I pouted as I grabbed the cup and walked over to the sink. I turned on the faucet and filled up the cup before feeling Eren's chest against my back as he hugged me from behind.
"I was only trying to tease you, (Y/n)," he whispered into my ear as he rested his head on my shoulder. "You're actually really light," he added with a husky voice.
He let go of me and grabbed the flowers, leaving me frozen by the sink, unable to move. Eren walked back over with the flowers in his hand and placed them in the cup. "There," he said with a satisfactory smile as I only stared at the flowers in the cup. "If you're not going to move, I guess I'll have to carry you to your room," Eren suggested as I blushed and quickly backed away.
"Ha ha ha no," I laughed with a pretend straight face as I ran out of the kitchen.
Eren laughed as he chased me down the halls. I bee-lined to my room, opening the door and quickly putting my flowers on my nightstand. It didn't take long for Eren to catch up to me, he slowly approached me and shut the door behind him with his foot. I smiled as I stepped backwards out of instinct, but ended up tripping on my bed behind me and falling on top of it.
Eren smiled as he crawled on top of me, placing both of his arms on the bed, caging in my body. I laughed and blushed as I remembered what happened that other night too. But then my smile began to fade when I remembered that it didn't end as well as I hoped.
Eren noticed my sudden change in emotion, "why are you upset all of a sudden?" He looked at me with sad eyes before replying, "did I do something wrong?"
I turned my head to face him, "No you did nothing wrong, Eren. I'm not upset."
He didn't believe me as he kissed my upper lip, "don't frown in front of me, (Y/n). I don't ever want to see you upset," he said seriously as he wrapped his arms around my tiny fame and kissed my neck.
I felt weak at his touch, my body melted under his heat and my heart wanted to explode in happiness. 'I'm so lucky to have him in my life,' I thought as I wrapped my arms around his back and gave in to him.
He genuinely smiled at me, staring deeply into my (e/c) eyes. I returned the smile and kissed him, letting him know how I feel without saying a word. He returned the kiss and let his body's weight fall slowly on top of me. He caressed the back of my head as he left trails of sweet kisses on my neck and collar bone. I suddenly felt the urge to let out a sound of pleasure, but I bit my lip as he traveled his lips back up to mine.
I could tell Eren was slightly disappointed I didn't say anything, but I decided to tease him a little longer. Eren bit my upper lip playfully, trying to ask for the permission that I kept denying him. He groaned in dissatisfaction as he smirked and tickled my sides. I laughed subconsciously and he stole the opportunity to explore my mouth.
I quickly pushed his chest away with a pout, "hey! You cheated," I complained as Eren looked down at me.
"You weren't being so fair either," he argued before he kissed me one last time. We slowly parted from each other, our lips only inches away from each other as I could still feel his hot breath as he panted for air. "You know," Eren started as he peered into my eyes lovingly. "You really are something special."
I smiled and kissed him before gently pushing him off of me. "You're not so bad yourself," I replied as we sat on my bed together. We sat with our backs against the pillows as Eren was cradling me in his arms, resting his chin on my head.
The whole time we relaxed in each other's presence, I wished to stay in arms like that forever.
I opened my eyes and my room was already dark. I moved my head to the side to see Eren snoring next to me, his arms still wrapped around my frame. I giggled to myself as I watched Eren's chest rise and fall gently, his mouth slightly agape. I peered over Eren's shoulder and looked at my alarm clock.
'Omg it's already past 7:30pm!?!' I mentally screamed to myself. 'We must've taken a long nap.' I then remembered about the movie we were going to see and decided to try to wake Eren up.
I sat up a little bit and tried to remove his hands but failed when he tightened his grip around me.
I sighed as I shook his shoulders gently, "Eren, time to get up." He just mumbled a response and fell back asleep, probably not listening to what I was saying. "Eren," I said a little more forceful. "Come on, get up. If we're lucky, there's probably still enough dinner left for the both of us." Eren continued to snore and I got really annoyed. "Fine, suit yourself but I'm going with or without you," I decided as I stopped shaking him and removed myself from his tight grasp.
I crawled out of bed but was stopped when a hand grabbed me by my wrist.
"(Y/n), don't leave me," Eren muttered half asleep, his teal eyes squinting through the darkness. "Let's just sleep for 5 more minutes," he pleaded as he closed his eyes again.
"There's no way I could get you up right now, is there?" I asked with a chuckle.
"Nope," He replied lazily, popping the "p" while dragging me back to bed. I laughed and made sure to set an alarm before I fell back asleep with Eren.
After we woke up, Eren and I fixed ourselves in the bathroom before meeting up with our friends since we both had MAJOR bedhead. Eren kept laughing at how my hair was sticking out in all directions, as if I was struck by lightning. Though I had the last laugh because I didn't dare tell him until we left my room that there was a noticeable trail of dried drool on the side of his mouth.
We walked out to the Mess Hall together, hoping that there was at least something left for us to eat. Unfortunately, all the food was gone and packaged away for the next day. I groaned in disappointment, knowing I should've gotten us up sooner.
We were about to leave the Mess Hall when all of a sudden, a loud sound cut through the silence like a knife. My face flushed red in embarrassment as Eren cracked up laughing as one of his arms rested around my shoulders.
"Is someone hungry?" Eren teased as he kept laughing at the sound of my growling stomach.
I slugged his arm, pouting, "I wouldn't be if someone would wake up when he was told!" He just played it off, wiping a tear of laughter out of his eyes.
"Yeah, sorry about that. I bet we'll find something to eat soon," Eren said as he pulled me along by my arm as we headed outside to meet our friends out on the lawn. I rolled my eyes, smiling as we opened the doors to see everything already set up.
It was a starry night, the moon was already out and shinning brightly through the dark night sky. Armin was already at his spot behind the projector, inserting the movie while Connie helped set up the blankets. I smiled at the scene in front of me before I saw Sahsa running up to me, holding onto her stuffed jacket tightly.
"Finally, you guys made it," Sasha smiled as she opened up her jacket. "What do you guys want? I grabbed you two some food since you guys didn't show up for dinner. I have a few pieces of meat, potatoes or bread," She asked with her eyes glowing in anticipation.
"I'll um, have a piece of meat and bread please," I ordered as Sasha handed me the food. Eren took the same and nudged my shoulders, giving me a pathetic look.
"Told you there'd be food somewhere," Eren said, trying to prove that he's the smarter one between the two of us.
"Thanks potato girl," Eren thanked as he motioned towards Sasha. "I don't know where we'd be without your habit of stealing food."
She nodded her head and laughed nervously as I rolled my eyes laughing and ate my food. We decided to find our seat next to Mikasa on one of the blankets.
"Is Jean still coming?" Connie asked as he sat down on the blanket in front of us. "I heard that he was in the infirmary today."
"I'm here," someone called out from behind us.
It was Jean who had a small wrapped up bandage around his forehead and a tiny bandaid on the bridge of his nose. He walked up to the group and sat next to Mikasa on the far left like last time.
"Yo dude," Connie yelled out as he looked at Jean with disgust. "What the Hell happened to you!?"
Jean glanced towards Eren's direction and his face grew grim before responding to Connie's question. "I don't want to talk about it," Jean said in monotone, his lips forming a permanent frown.
"O-okay well, since the gang is all here, let's start the movie," Armin suggested as he pressed play for the movie to start.
Connie and Sasha cuddled next to each other from the start, no lieing that they weren't together. Eren laid back, leaning his body on his arms as I curled up next to him with my head in his lap. Jean seemed miserable at first, but little changes in his emotions shown as more of the movie went on. Mikasa stayed silent, her eyes were full of curiosity and excitement when there was a lot of action going on. Armin stayed where he was, but he seemed to stay tuned in as he shouted a few times at the characters in the movie. It was adorable though.
When the movie was more than half way through, my eyelids began to grow heavier and heavier.
'Oh no, not again,' I thought as I kept trying to stay awake for the rest of the movie.
Sometimes I'd fail and have my eyes shut, but my head would jolt awake again, the process repeated several times until Eren noticed. He laughed and moved a piece of my hair away from my face and rubbed my back.
"You know you could go to sleep right?" Eren asked as he glanced at me, then back to the movie.
"Yeah," I yawned out as my eyes closed again. "But I want to stay awake for the rest of the movie," I mumbled as I clung onto Eren's shirt, falling back asleep in his lap.
"Yeah, I doubt that, (Y/n)," Eren laughed as he slowly stood up and picked me up bridal style. "You're going to bed."
I didn't even have the energy to complain as I collapsed into his arms as he left the group to take me back inside.
"Good girl," Eren smiled as he opened the doors to go inside. "Don't fight it."
I just mumbled a response as I held onto Eren until he reached a room. He placed me on the bed but it took me a minute to realize that the room that I was in wasn't my own.
"E-Eren?" I mumbled. "Where are we?" I asked as drowsiness was taking over my body.
"My room," Eren said nonchalantly. "I'm going to tell the others that we're retiring for the night and I'll be back, okay?" He asked as he walked over to my bedside and threw the blankets over me.
"Mhmm," I mumbled as I closed my eyes.
Eren smiled, "Goodnight sleeping beauty."
Eren kissed my forehead softly before leaving the room, light poured into the room for a quick moment before the room fell pitch black and silent. I kind of had the feeling that my friends already knew that I wasn't going to be able to stay awake and watch the whole movie. I giggled to myself as I closed my eyes and turned on my side, falling into a peaceful slumber.

Author's Note:
I apologize that that was such a long chapter. I didn't feel like breaking up the scenes because they wouldn't have left the little cliff hanger that I usually try to do, even though this chapter still didn't end with one. -_-
Anyways, I appreciate those of you who kept reading my story, you guys rock! I hope the story is somewhat to your liking or I at least hope it would get better further on as you read if you do not enjoy the story yet. Thank you again! XD
