_PHASe PRIVATE PLANE_
_9:24pm_
AUTHOR'S POV
The dark, star-filled sky emitted the littlest light into the airtight windows of the private plane. It was no doubt still night as Nine began giving out instructions and info for the ride for the next two days.
"Alright, rooms... down the hall *points at the hallway behind him* the first door is Three's...Next is Four's... Next is Six's... Then mine... then the last two doors facing each other are the paired rooms. Fatal-Attraction's is the one at the left and Dev Team's is the one at the right. I'll place name plates later in case you guys forget...."
Nine sighed in relief and clasped his hands together, "Any questions?" As if knowing everyone else's answers, each member shook their heads without even glancing at each other. "Okay then. Everyone get some sleep. We still have exactly 48 hours before we arrive at Naldeland."
Each member stood up and grabbed their bags. You and Zero had left first in a hurry to get to your beds. Six walked right behind you. Monarch, Eight's cat, came out from the back of a couch and followed Eight, surprising Five and Three in the process. "What the-! Where'd he come from??" A startled Five brought his bag to his chest up to his neck, covering his chin. "Hm? Ah, I brought him with me... He might get lonely." Eight had turned his head, seeing his cat following just behind him. Three clutched his tablet, "You better keep him here. He might distract us or cause trouble." Eight gave him a reassuring look. "He won't. He's too smart for that."
"Aish. Out of my way!" Four pushed passed the three operatives, his bag on his shoulder with the briefcase in his other hand; an irritated look on his face. Eight ran a hand through his hair, "Mianhae, hyung." He called, but of course, the Wraith payed no attention to him and kept walking towards the second door in the hall.
"Come on. Move along. You guys need to rest." Nine patted Five's back who smiled in return. "You get some sleep too." Three told him. Nine nodded, "Of course. But I'll be up for a bit."
With only Nine left in the living room, he took his things and walked to his door as well; tons of paperwork awaits within his bag.
THREE'S POV
Naldeland sure is far from Olympia. Nothing I can do about it. Blame the map! It's only my job to find out things not change things and people kept on complaining about the trip. My eyes are getting tired and the use of glasses isn't helping.
'What should I do, sleep or work?'
Pressing my hand on the door panel of the automatic sliding door into my room was another step I had to take before starting to feel sleepy. The interior was great! At least I have some space, not to mention the plane is actually wide in width and not just length.
Having the color white soothed me. My eyes felt heavy. Maybe I should just sleep for tonight. We have two more days anyway. Letting my bag rest in the chair next to the edge of my bed, I didn't really bother changing and just took of my coat, shoes, belt, and glasses, then fell onto the sheets. Not bothering to move any longer, I fell fast asleep.
Only to remember Nine might have ignored my orders again.
FOUR'S POV
Aish those two. They're really wrecking my nerves right now; taking so long in standing in the middle of the hall and blocking my way. Pushing passed them I went straight to my door. The second one.
Brown and white. Just right I guess. It'll do for the trip. At least the bed's big. I let my bag and briefcase bounce onto the bed and walked to the windowsills and closed them. It's night so there's no light. But I got a feeling that I'd be too lazy the next morning to get up and close them when the sunlight enters.
Taking the case again, I placed it on the little chair at the edge of the bed. Staring back at my bag, I took off my black gloves and placed them neatly at the side table. Looking through my bag would be a waste of time. Not like I gotta bring out everything in it anyway. So I placed it with the briefcase.
Going through the drawers to see if there was anything, all I found was the TV remote. Going around the room, I found the shower and a towel inside a closet. Glancing at my wristwatch, it was only 9:27 pm. I sighed walking back to the bed and took off my black leather jacket along with my belt.
'A late night's shower wouldn't be too much, would it?'
SIX'S POV
BED. I need to sleep. Up till this hour I had been mentally tired thinking about the mission. Entering my doorstep as the door slid open, my room's interior made me smile.
Green.
Hehe. Nine gave me a good room. Placing my bag on the bed, I pulled the zipper aside and grabbed some pjs. After changing and doing my daily night routine, my body longed for the soft sheets of my bed. But the moment I hopped into my bed, my sleepiness was suddenly driven away.
"Really? Right when I'm finally on the bed?"
I hate it when that happens. My stare lingered onto the flatscreen TV on the wall opposite from my bed. Just like in my real room. I got off the sheets and rampaged through the drawers and eventually found the TV remote.
Switching the TV on, I went through the different channels and randomly stopped in a movie channel. I grabbed the pillows and piled them up behind me for support. "This is gonna be a looong night..."
Muttering this to myself wouldn't be any help, though. The movie played while I placed my bag on the long desk at the side of the room beneath the windows. Some of my stuff was out. I'll leave it there for now. I still need to find a way to get back my sleep.
NINE'S POV
I stared at the paper in my hands. It's been 8 minutes. And I spaced out. I rubbed my eyes. I guess I'm getting tired. I had been quite sleepless the past few nights preparing for our mission. Three hyung scolded me about five times already. I always told him "Yes hyung, I'll get some sleep." But I always ended up going against my word.
Speaking of which....
The digital screen at my side desk beamed in blue signaling an incoming call. And checking the contact ID, it was There hyung. Of course..... I sighed and pressed the green button. Hyung's face popped out.
"Namjoon! I told you to get some sleep!"
Wow, yelling out my real name and giving me orders... He's like a mom at times. "Ne, hyung. I'll do that later...." my eyes were nearly closed when hyung's voice interrupted me again. "What do you mean later!? Put those papers down! It's been weeks since you had a proper rest. Think about your health and get some sleep! I'll have those documents split between us so I can help you. Now sleep!!"
He really won't let me argue wit him so I just sighed and nodded. Knowing he was a hundred percent right from me, though I was the leader, he was still the hyung. So I got no choice right now and just follow. "Ok, hyung. I got it..." my voice was raspy, sleepiness was obvious.
Ending the call, the screen disappeared and I piled up the papers onto the table in front of my bed. I took my bag and grabbed some clothes. Changing into them, I went straight back to bed and in no time, fell asleep.
AUTHOR'S POV
•EIGHT AND FIVE'S ROOM•
Eight and Five had entered their room not long after being scolded by Four.
A wall separated the two from each other for some private space. But they really didn't mind. Being partners made them very much comfortable with each other. They were best friends, after all.
"Who'll change first?" Eight had asked out loud. "You can go. I'll still organize my bag." Not giving back a response, Eight took his clothes and walked into the bathroom they'll be sharing. "Can I turn the TV on?" Five asked. Eight's voice came out quite muffled from behind the bathroom door, "Yeah!"
Five took a seat on his bed and flipped through the channels in the TV. Finding interest in a movie channel, he placed the remote down on the sheets and focused on the show. Not too long later, Eight had come back out and motioned for Five to go change.
As his partner walked away, Eight leaned on the wall separating them and felt it move. Inspecting it, he found a lock and pushed it aside. Feeling it go loose, Eight had managed to push the wall out of the way giving their shared room a bigger space.
"Eh? How'd you do that?"
Five saw the wall gone and stared at Eight who shrugged and pouted. "I found a lock and pushed it off..." Five only nodded and bit the inside of his cheek before sitting back down on his bed. Eight had joined him in watching a few moments later.
"Hyung, do you think Zero and Seven are still awake? I kinda want more company..." Five pouted. Eight didn't even hesitate with his answer, "They're already asleep for sure. Seven's probably tired." Five shrugged, trusting his best friend's statement.
Halfway through the movie, Eight walked back to his bed and turned his lampshade off. "Turn the lights off after you watch... Don't stay up too long. It's already 10:57...." Five didn't even tear his gaze from the screen as he answered, "Ne, hyung. Good night..."
"Night, Five..."
•ZERO AND SEVEN'S/YOUR ROOM•
The tables and chairs were across the huge room You and Zero shared. Looks like Nine made sure you wouldn't be uncomfortable with sharing a room with a guy. The beds were huge! Two heavy curtains were right in the middle of the beds to separate you both.
You had just finished your night routine and went to sit on your bed while grabbing the brown blanket and folding it aside. Your hair fell to your shoulders as you slumped, fidgeting with your ARO glasses then placing it aside after a while. Zero was still inside the bathroom, showering.
The bathroom door slid open, but Zero was no where in sight. Only the mirror and the sink were. You moved away from the edge of the bed up to the headboard, grabbing the maroon pillow and placing it on your lap and relaxing your head.
Zero took his towel and slung it over his shoulder. Forgetting to put on his shirt, he only wore his night pants, he walked straight to his bed where his bag was wide opened. Water droplets fell from the tips of his hair while he searched his bag. You on the other hand, choked on your own saliva seeing him shirtless.
'Shit!! Right... His bandages are gone... And I completely forgot he sleeps without a shirt on!'
Hiding your reddened face behind your pillow, you had hoped your best friend took consent and decided to wear a shirt for your sake... In which he didn't.
"Ah... there it is..." You heard him mumble.
Neither of you have talked much since you were both tired and sleepy. But Zero seemed fully awake after his shower. The pillow had moved away from your face since you needed to breath. Zero had turned to your direction while holding a mini digital monitor, his bare chest making your face even redder than possible. Finally looking up, he noticed your red face and grew concerned.
"Hey, you okay?"
His voice snapped your thoughts back to reality. Your eyes widening once again at the sight of him.
"Uh.. Y-yeah. I-I'm great!"
Zero put down the digital monitor and walked over to the side of your bed.
"You're a bad liar, ya know?"
You couldn't even answer or move since nervousness took over your whole body. You only eyed him as he approached you, sat beside you, and brought a hand up to your forehead.
"You're not sick, are you?.... Your face is all red.", he asked as his hand went to your neck.
You took note of the concern in his voice. Something was making you uncomfortable and he didn't even know it was him. Pulling his hand away, he looked you straight in the eye.
"Hey, what's wrong??"
Still paralyzed, you only reddened up darker. 'Shit! What do I do!??' His eyes furrowed, noticing the change. "Seven?? Come on what's wrong??" By now the pillow was out of your reach and Zero had held both your hands that started to shake. The heat his body produced caused his body to moisten. A few droplets were still in his damp black and blue hair and his neck.
'Damn it why do you have to look so hot!?'
Gathering your strength, you opened your mouth. Even if you were to stutter, you had to at least tell him to put a shirt on. "Z-z-ze-r-ro..... ya-y-your s-sh-sh-ir-t..."
It took him a good moment to get what you were trying to say. So looking down at himself, "Huh?, oh- uh... I Uh...S-sorry about that..." he had gotten up quickly and staggered away to grab his shirt from his bag and quickly put it on. You looked away, relieved. Taking in a deep inhale, you sighed. The redness on your face finally leaving your cheeks.
Zero didn't find the courage to look back at you as he realized his mistake.
'Damn it! I forgot she's my roommate now!... Aish, Zero you're so dumb...'
Exhaling deeply, he managed to face you, his hand scratching the back of his neck. "I uh... sorry... Seven. I didn't mean anything...." you forced out a smile. "I-it's al-right. I-I know y-you didn't m-mean it...." you still stuttered. Zero seemed satisfied that you forgave him.
But his cocky side just had to show up.
Staring at him, you see the side of his lips curve up into a smirk as his eyes stayed lock on you. Your nervousness was gone and replaced with independence, ready to retort with whatever he had in mind. "What?" You asked him, bluntly.
"Did you like the view?"
His answer made you scoff. "You wish..." Zero didn't mind your response and climbed between your beds to push the heavy curtains away towards the headboards. Then turning on his side, he held himself up with his elbow and faced you, a sly smile on his face. Not knowing how to react, you only stared at him, causing him to scrunch up his nose. You giggled at the sight while Zero's bunny smile appeared.
"I like this side a lot better than the previous one." You told him. He pouted. "Just admit I'm hot." He winked. "In your dreams, bunny." Saying the pet name, you poked his nose with your index finger, earning a low growl from him. With him leaping up, you found yourself trapped between his arms as he hovered above you.
His bunny look was gone, replaced by a serious Zero. The edges of his damp hair sticking randomly around his forehead. Feeling his gaze cut through you, you turned your head to your left. Your cheeks heated up like before. "Zero s-stop playing around. We're on our way for a m-mission." You had hoped not to stutter, but your mouth says other wise.
Zero's smirk returned as he brought his head down to your face, his hot breath tickling your neck. You placed your hands on his chest in an attempt to push him away. "Z-zero-..!" Your breath hitched as his lips brushed over your right cheek. "......(y/n)~" he cooed in your ear. Your hands clutched his shirt tightly as he continued grazing on your cheek down to your jawline.
Only then....
Did you hear him giggle.....
Before you knew it, Zero had fallen back to his side with an arm over your stomach and the other tangled with your hair. You watched him laugh as confusion took over you.
"Y-you should have s-seen your face!!"
It took a few more seconds before his laughter died down. You finally got the hint that he was only messing with you.
"... Hehe, What did you think I was gonna do? I was only playing around like you said." He smiled innocently, causing you to trigger and push his arm off of you and scooting away from him and turning to your left side.
"Eesh what's wrong with you, really?" You didn't expect an answer from him and kept quiet.
The fact that he seemed so serious with what he did made you really confused. He was your best friend! That never happened between best friends!! But here's the big idea, you've always felt something for him. Something different. But you never revealed it in fear of loosing your only best friend.
You felt an arm wrap around your waist and something heavy on your right shoulder. Hot air hit your ear and fanned your cheeks. "Hey, I was just kidding.... Come on~"
Zero shook you a bit but when you didn't even move, he buried his face in your neck and nuzzled you, tickling you. Giggles escaped your lips as your right hand instinctively held onto his neck as you turned to face him.
"Okay! Stop it!!" You turned around and laid on your back. Earning a smile from him, you tried forgetting what had happened. "Having you as a best friend is weird." You faked a disgusted face. He pouted. "But you love me...." you giggled at his cuteness.
"Yep. I do." You pinched his cheeks.
He made another bunny face, "Then kiss!" He said pouting his lips. "Yah! Stop being silly, I can't kiss you!" He scrunched his nose and furrowed his eyebrows. "You can. You just don't want to." He corrected you. "Now come on! Just one?" He raised his finger making a "1" sign.
You shook your head. "No Zero."
He unexpectedly grumpily turned away to his side as he mumbled, "Then you really don't love me." but you heard it.
"Yah! I didn't mean it like that!" You shook him but he nudged you away. "Aish!! Zero~!! I do love you!" You said and placed your hands on his muscular arm. With the feeling that he'd give up soon, you continued to shake him furiously.
"Yah Ze—!?"
The second you knew it, just a split second ago, Zero had pecked your lips! And now, he was facing you with that sly smile of his. "Wh-?" Not giving you a chance to say anything, he quickly said "Love you best friend! You better get some sleep now cuz it's getting really really late." He got up and moved back to his bed and turned off the lights on his side.
'She's so cute!' He had thought.
In a mere second, he was already cuddled up in his blanket. Your fingers grazed over your lips. But you shook your head thinking he was only playing.
'Come on! Get yourself together, (y/n)! He's your best friend. He'd never think anything else....'
So standing up, you turned the main lights off, fixed your bed, then turned your lights off. Zero was lightly snoring as you laid down and brought up the blanket to your face.
Only to realize......
You couldn't fall asleep with the ghost of Zero's lips still lingering on yours.
