Imagine.....
It is late into the night and you are just leaving your job since another employee had taken off, leaving you to work later than usual. You are so extremely tired that your eyelids are practically screaming at you to let them shut. They start to as you wait at the bus stop. You see someone sit down next to you out of the corner of your eye, but don't turn to look at them. Your head starts to tilt to the side, but you quickly prevent it and widen your eyes in an effort to keep them open.
"You look exhausted," a voice from beside you says. You move your eyes towards the voice and see a guy stitting there with a friendly smirk on his face.
"I feel exhausted," you reply before rubbing your face.
"Did you work late or something?" he asks. You just nod your head. Then the bus pulls up and you both stand up. Once boarded, the bus makes a couple more stops before it reaches your stop. Coincidentally enough, your stop is also his stop. You almost trip as you are stepping off, but he catches you before you come in contact with the ground. "Woah, are you okay to get home by yourself? You might get hurt," he says. You stand up straight as you wave your hand.
"It's fine. I can get home alright," you say. He looks at you with a face filled with disbelief.
"I don't believe you," he says.
"No really, it's okay. It's not like I'm drunk or anything. I'm just tired," you assure him.
"Nope, still don't believe you," he says as he shakes his head slightly. "I'm taking you home." You sigh in surrender because you aren't really in the mood to protest. He puts a sudden light grip on your hand and gently pulls you along. You tell him the way to your place and he finds it easily. Once you get inside and you reach the door to your apartment, he lets go of your hand and looks at you, still concerned.
"I'm fine now. You can go home," you say. He smiles and looks down for a second.
"Araso," he says as a sigh escapes his lips. "Let me know if you ever need help getting home again." He bites his lip as he starts walking backwards toward the elevator.
"Thanks a lot, uh," you say, realizing you don't know his name.
"Jr.," he says for you. You smile and nod.
"Jr. I'll remember that," you say.
"I hope so," he says after he presses the button, still wearing a smile. The doors to the elevator open. "Sweet dreams," he says before getting on. You feel your cheeks begin to flush red as your smile grows. Then you unlock your door and go inside to get some much needed rest.
