You woke up to hear rustling of clothes to the right of you. You opened your eyes and turned your head to the sound, only to see Kokichi awake and fully dressed.
"Morning sleepyhead! Took you long enough! Hurry, you have like 10 minutes to get ready!" Kokichi said, he then walked out of the room and most likely heading towards the dining hall.
You looked at the time, and seeing that it read 7:50, you got up from the bed and hurried to get ready. After you finished putting on your clothes, you rushed to the Dining hall.
"Hey (Y/N)! Good Morning!" Kaito said as you walked in.
"Good morning," you replied.
"How was sharing a room with Kokichi? He didn't try to do anything right?" Kaito asked worriedly.
Your mind suddenly flashed back to how he grabbed you in the middle of the night. You shook your head to clear the thoughts. "It was fine, and no he was actually being really nice."
"(Y/N) you shouldn't lie! It wasn't just fine, in fact we had tons of fun together!" Kokichi interjected, putting emphasis on the word fun.
"Y-you! Don't take advantage of (Y/N)'s situation!" Kaito shouted.
You rolled your eyes, "Kaito he's messing with you, we did nothing but sleep. Honestly. Plus Kokichi doesn't scare me."
"O-oh Okay! That's good then! Don't hesitate to ask for help if you need it though!" Kaito said.
Finally, Kaede came to the dining hall.
"Now all of us have arrived...kehehe I'm glad there were no victims." Korekiyo said, almost purring.
Jeez...hearing their voice in real life is so weird. Like I never liked Korekiyo cause he was like hella creepy but my god, that voice is killing me I swear.
"By the way Kaede, are you okay?" Kokichi asked with another mischievous grin on his face.
"Huh what do you mean?"
"Well..." Kokichi started, "You looked really bummed out yesterday after everyone started blaming you. Seriously! You guys are so mean! Poor girl..."
"What is the point of bringing this up again?" Keebo asked.
"Actually... weren't you the one who started blaming Kaede first?" Tenko shouted accusingly.
"E-eh? Now it's my fault? Why are you guys ganging up on me?" Kokichi then burst into fake tears. "You guys are terrible! So horrible! So mean!"
You just rolled your eyes, Jeez. He really can cry loudly though.
"Hmph, you're too noisy. Cut it out." Ryoma said abruptly.
"But it's true. Everyone blamed Kaede without taking any responsibility for themselves." Kaito agreed.
"Hey come on now. Everyone was probably just tired." Rantaro reasoned.
"Shut it! That's no excuse!" Kaito shouted
"No it okay! It doesn't bother me!" Kaede argued, "I should've been more considerate of everyone's feelings. I'm sorry..."
"Alright well... if you're okay with it then so am I." Kaito responded quietly.
"Phew cool beans! Now everything's settled!" Kokichi enthusiastically said.
"You did blame her first, didn't you?" Keebo asked.
"That was a lie. Y'know one of those lies to make us more united or whatever." Kokichi answered. Grinning he then said, "Did you know that half my lies are actually told with good intentions?"
"Now that sounds like a lie." Himiko replied.
"Alright, can we talk about something else now?" You asked.
And with that, Monokuma appeared.
"Before you do that, I have an announcement!" Monokuma shouted, startling all of us.
"Hey, don't just suddenly show up! It's bad for my heart!" Tsumugi shouted back at Monokuma.
"Oh sorry. I didn't mean to not surprise you!"
"So you did mean to surprise us." You said to the black and white bear.
"Well? What's the announcement?" Rantaro questioned.
"Well! Everyone knows it's easier to stay alive by being an oblivious goody two-shoes right? So I'm here to ease you into the killing game by giving you motivation to kill!" Monokuma enthusiastically said.
"Motivation..?" Maki questioned.
"In short, a motive! This outta add mystery to the proceedings!"
"Your logic is impossible to understand!" Keebo shouted.
"I will now announce the first motive!" Monokuma said, ignoring Keebo. "This special motive is called... The First Blood Perk!"
Right. I almost forgot that this was a thing... technically... isn't this my chance to leave? If I killed someone-I could go home...
With that thought, you looked down to your trembling hands. Could I kill someone with these hands though? My own...hands? And... on top of that, I can't abandon everyone here. Since I have the chance... I should stop the killing game right?
"I see... The prisoner's dilemma. That's pretty clever of you Monokuma." Rantaro stated.
"What's that?" Tenko asked.
"We all know it's better to cooperate then to betray each other right? But if you don't cooperate, you get benefits no one else has. Its an incentive to betray the group to gain an advantage." Rantaro's face grew into a knowing smirk kinda face.
Jeez. I didn't realize it but... the game sprites do not do these guys' emotions justice. Like they all have such... interesting facial expressions? I don't know, all I know is that this shows me so much more beyond what I saw on the game.
"And if a murder were to occur we would all be less likely to cooperate." Shuichi said as I started paying attention again.
"It's likely he created this perk for this sole purpose..." Korekiyo responded.
"Right? I bet you can't stand the tension! So you guys should just kill!" Monokuma said enthusiastically.
"I've had enough!" Kaito shouted and he then lunged for Monokuma.
"Rise and Shine Ursine!"
"Hell yeah! We have a volunteer!" Monokid screamed.
"It's finally time for the exisals!" Monotaro stated.
With that, the sound of the Exisals could be heard, one entered the dining hall, and in a split second it lunged for Kaito.
Kaito jumped, just narrowly dodging the Exisal, and so the exisal hit Monokuma-it's own master. An explosion came from Monokuma's body. Smoke filled the room momentarily, until it finally died down-allowing us to see the damage.
"Father!" Monotaro cried.
"I'm not sure what to do, but Monokuma is in pieces." Ryoma stated.
"S-serves him right!" Tenko shouted.
"Do not celebrate yet, I'm sure he has a spare that will appear momentarily." Kirumi said in reply.
You watched as the Monokubs tried to insist that their father had no spare. You knew the truth, but you chose to stay silent. Eventually the Monokubs disappeared, leaving you all in confusion.
"Ummm...What's going on?" Tsumugi asked.
"Hmm... Everything is a mess now. But if there's no final boss... the killing game must be canceled!" Kokichi shouted joyously.
"I don't think so. Monokuma is just a robot. There has to be someone controlling him." Rantaro said wisely.
Kokichi laughed, "Dont be a worrywart! Everything's definitely over now! With the mastermind gone, continuing the game is impossible. So we win!"
"Yay! We did it! Nyahhaha!" Angie laughed along with Kokichi.
You slightly shook your head in disappointment. I wish. I really wish that was true.
"Kaede quit being a buzzkill! Everyone's still annoyed about what you did yesterday!" Kokichi's shouting cut through my wishes.
You watched as everyone ganged up on Kaede, it hurt your heart to see her look so sad.
"Phew, looks like we're done here!" Kokichi said. And with that mostly everyone left with joyful faces. Faces that you knew weren't going to stay that way.
Well, the first motive has been revealed! And Monokuma has been destroyed. I like low-key feel bad for the reader, imagine going through the experience of this and knowing everything that happens. You can't even play dumb! In my mind, that's horrible.
Well though, I hope you guys like this chapter! I know things are still very similar to the game. You guys will just have to wait and see! Thank you for all the support though!
'Till the Next Chapter!
