I was laying in my bed, with one thought. Why the frick was my alarm going off so early in the morning?

The more important question is, who would actually wake up this early?

I reached over to turn my alarm off, and that's when it hit me. My first day of school was today. The day I've been wishing for all my life.

I scrambled out of bed and ran to my closet. I needed to make a good first impression.

After taking a really long time picking out an outfit, I finally decided on a white tee, with the words "I'm imagining that I'm still asleep" in black, tucked into my high waisted light wash skinny jeans.

I curled my hair so it had light natural looking waves, and added mascara. I then checked my appearance. Perfect.

I put on my black high top converse and skipped down the stairs. I grabbed a pop tart, and quietly opened my dad's door. He's fast asleep. I whisper a goodbye, even though he can't hear me, and skipped out the door to the bus stop because the car was in the shop.

As you can see, I am very excited.

This weekend was almost painful, waiting for today. I basically did nothing but eat, sleep, and talk to Kayla.

When I got to the bus stop, I gained a few strange looks because I was still skipping. I slowed down my pace and walked normally, hoping that my face was not red.

It seemed as if the bus took forever to get here, or maybe that was just because I was trying to avoid anymore embarrassment. It was hard when everyone was looking at me.

Once the bus finally came, I got on. Sitting in one of the seats at the front, I silently prayed that no one would sit next to me. Fortunately, no one did.

The bus ride was short and soon enough, I was at the school. I had no idea where I was going. I was glad that I had a little bit of extra time to look around.

I wandered around for a bit, before I finally found the office. By now, everyone was at their lockers. The secretary smiled at me as I walked in.

"Hello! You must be Delilah, our new student!" She had a friendly smile, and a good vibe about her.

"Yeah, that's me." I gave her a small smile in return, which only made her smile wider.

"Alrighty! I have your schedule and a map of the school right here." She set them on the desk. I grabbed my schedule and map as I heard a few other voices join the conversation.

"Can you believe he pranked me this early in the morning?" A woman I didn't recognize, laughed to herself.

"Hey, anytime is a good time for pranking! Plus, it was only a couple sticky notes." I heard an oddly familiar male voice say.

"A couple? You filled my whole office with them!" She didn't seem angry, but still handed him a pink slip. I'm guessing it was for detention, a place I never wanted to be.

I honestly didn't think I would ever see Finley Price again, but here we are.

"Princess? What are you doing here?" He asks, glancing at the woman he had apparently just pranked.

"Um, I go here now." I told him, giving an awkward wave. I remembered that I had never told him my actual name. "and I have a name, you know. It's Delilah."

"Delilah... fits your nickname. Welcome to Rosewood. It cool you go here now." He grabbed my schedule from me, and I gave him a dirty look.

"Hmm... We have one class together. Luckily, my biology class is right next to your English class. I'll walk you." He nodded at the secretary before leading me out of the office.

We didn't get very far, and before I knew it, I was being tackled by someone else with strong arms. I panicked for a second before I saw that it was just Logan.

"LILAH?! I DIDN'T KNOW YOU WENT HERE!" I put my hand over his mouth and tried to ignore the stares we were getting.

"Hey Logan. I actually just got here today." I smiled as he let go of me.

"No way! Does Kayla know?" He asked, his eyes wide with excitement.

"Yeah, do you know where sh-"

"LILAH!" I got attacked with yet another hug.

"Found her!" Logan cracked.

"Oh my gosh, I can't believe I am actually hugging you right now." Kayla said as she squeezed me even harder.

I hugged her back, tightly. She let go and looked at me, a big smile on her face.

"Wow, you are even more beautiful in person!" She reached out and touched my hair, her hazel eyes filled with joy.

"Thank you." I blushed, and she let go of me. "It is really nice to finally meet you, Kayla."

"The rest of the year is going to be amazing!! Lilah, let me see your schedule." She looked at my hands and opened her mouth to ask where it was, but was interrupted by someone clearing their throat.

"I'm feeling a little left out." Finn joked. I heard Kayla giggle behind me, and then I heard a smack and shortly after, an "Ow!"

Oh, Logan.

"Can I have my schedule back?" I asked, annoyance in my tone, but a smile not leaving my face. He nodded and handed it back.

"Hey, did you ever fix your car?" He smirked.

"It's in the shop. Thank you for the money by the way. My dad would've killed me if I made him pay. That was very clever of you." I told him.

"Of course. It was the least that I could do."

My schedule was stolen from my hands again, and I turned my attention to Kayla.

"Don't we have to get to class?" I asked, and they all nodded.

Kayla whined when she realized her and Logan's first class was all the way across the school from mine. Kayla and Logan went off to class while I found my locker. Once I found it, I turned towards Finn.

"You're gonna be late if you wait for me." I started taking my supplies out of my bag.

"You're gonna be late too." He accused, his face blank.

"You're right, but I have an excuse. I'm new." I grabbed my binder and fully turned towards him.

"I have an excuse too. I just don't care." He winked and I rolled my eyes.

The halls were mainly empty by the time we get to the two doors, one leading to biology, and the other leading to English.

"This is our stop." He stopped me when I went to open the door. "No, no. Let me, milady."

"Don't ever call me that again." I cringed, and he nodded, cringing as well.

"Yeah, I'm not planning on it." He opened the door and gestured for me to go inside.

All the students stared at me. It probably has something to do with the fact that I got escorted into the classroom by apparently the most popular guy in school.

Or maybe just because I'm new.

And late.

"Delilah, is it?" The middle aged teacher asked me, with a smile on her face. "Finley. You can go now."

He nodded and left, not before giving me yet another wink that followed with another eye roll from me.

"I'm Mrs. Willons. " She gestured to the class, "Take a seat."

I walked to the only empty seat in the classroom. Right next to a girl with her hair hiding her face.

"Delilah came at the perfect time because today, because we are starting a new project!" Some of the class groaned but some cheered.

"You will be partnered with the person next to you." She explained that the project was reading a couple chapters of a book and making a poster for it. Sounded easy enough.

After she told us to work out times to get together, I turned to the girl on my left.

"Hi" I said boldly. She responded with a small smile. She was shy, and I liked that.

"I'm Lilah." I told her, hoping for a response back. Thankfully, I got one.

"I'm Caitlyn." She responded.

She had beautiful long red hair, and brown eyes. She also had a face of freckles.

"So, my dad probably wouldn't let me go to your house. Do you think you could come to mine?" I asked her and she nodded.

"What day?" She was still hiding her face behind her hair.

"Tommorow?" I offered.

She thought for a moment and then nodded.

"Cool." I exclaimed "Don't forget!"

Kayla and Finn switched off walking me to classes throughout the day.

Finn and I were in calculus when the bell rang, signaling that it was lunch time.

Finn headed to his separate table, while I went to the lunch line. Kayla always told me how terrible the food was, so I was expecting the worst.

When it was my turn, I picked out a slice of pizza and a bag of chips, and then payed for them.

I sat down at a table with Kayla, Logan, and some other guy that I think I saw in one of my classes.

"Lilah, this is Luka. Luka, this is Lilah." Kayla introduced when I sat down.

"So this is the famous new girl, that everyone is talking about!" Luka exclaimed.

"People are talking about me?" I asked.

"Yeah! Everyone wants to know who the cute new girl is." He laughed.

This is exactly why I hate being pretty. Why couldn't I be average looking? I sighed and put my head down.

"You don't like the attention?" Kayla asked. She put her head down too, to get to my level.

"I'm not used to it. I'm always at home." I explained, as I sat up and took a bite out of my pizza. Or what was supposed to be pizza.

I set it down and pushed the tray away, making a face.

"I told you." Kayla shook her head.

"This isn't pizza. This tastes like straight cardboard." I complained.

"And that is why we are so excited for next year." Logan said "we get to go off campus for lunch."

Kayla and Luca both nodded in excitement. Someone sat next to me.

"Hi!" she greeted, with a cheery voice and phony smile. Kayla, Logan, and Luca all rolled their eyes. Ah. The queen bee. Every highschool has one.

"Can I help you?" I asked her. I already hated this girl.

"I just came to meet the new girl! I'm Maddie! You don't have to sit here, you know. You can totally sit with us!" She pointed to a table in the middle of the room.

There was a ton of girls in cheerleading outfits, and some guys with varsity jackets. Who knew this school would be so cliche?

I noticed Finn was sitting with them. Most of the girls were leaning towards him, listening to his every word.

I pressed my lips together. "I'm good here. Thanks though."

"Are you sure?" She pouted "Everyone is gonna love you! And you'll fit right in!"

I shook my head once more, and she glared at me. She flipped her brown hair and walked away, her heels clicking against the floor.

"Good choice." Luca said, still staring at her retreating form.

"That was weird. Why did she ask you to sit with them? That never happens." Kayla shook her head, watching as Maddie sat next to Finn, and kissed him on the cheek.

Of course they were dating. I shook my head in disgust. Just when I thought he was a good guy.

"Probably because she's gorgeous." Luca answered Kayla. I blushed, I'm not that pretty.

"Hmm, you're right. Plus, she's the talk of the school right now." Kayla said looking at me.

The bell rang and people start to leave the room. That was short.

I followed Kayla, but someone tapped me on the shoulder. I turned around and am met with Finn.

"What elective do you have?" He asked me.

"Theater." I responded, attempting to walk away but he grabbed my arm.

"Why are you acting like that? Are you mad at me or something?" He questioned.

"I just don't understand why you would want to be with her." I said nodding towards Maddie who is flirting with another guy. He looked at her and his eyes narrowed. He then shook his head at me.

"Why would you care anyway?" He asked.

"You just seemed really nice... Nevermind." I gave him a small smile and go to look for the auditorium.

"So, I know we are starting this a little late, but I wanted Delilah to have a chance to audition." My drama teacher, Ms. Linn announced.

She had just told us that we were starting a new musical that would be performed towards the end of the school year.

The play is High school musical. I was so excited! I'd seen the movies a million times. They were literally my childhood, or what I remember of my childhood.

Ms. Linn announced that the auditions would be held after school today. Hopefully, my dad would be okay with me staying a little later.

We were told to work on reading the script and practicing for auditions the rest of class. I decided that I want to audition for Sharpay because of my blonde hair.

As I'm looking through the script, a guy who also had blonde hair stood in front of me.

"Hi" He greeted. "I'm Isaac."

"Hey, I'm Lilah" I responded back, looking up from the script.

"Who are you auditioning for?" He asked, glancing over the page I was looking at.

"Sharpay, you?"

"No way! I'm trying for Ryan!" He exclaimed "If we get the parts, we'd be siblings."

"Yeah!" I said with a smile.

"You wanna practice with me?" He asked, flipping to the page I was on.

"Sure!" I honestly love this school already. There's so many nice people here.

As were practicing, I notice that Isaac is a really great actor! I really hope he gets Ryan.

And I really hope I get Sharpay.
