I fall on my knees and all the food I eat pours down the cliff and all of it burn in the lava lake.
" I forgot how that felt " I wipe my lips.
" Whoa. . . .that's new " Mariko gags and cover her mouth.
" You won't get used to it " Laurence said after puking.
" Shit, we forgot fire resistant potion " Eddie said.
" Don't worry, the heat is actually bearable " Hayden said.
" Since when your nice? " Laurence asked.
I got up then look back at the portal and it's spawned in a different area so we are definitely entered a new nether.
" I'm done " Mariko wipe her lips.
" I don't want to ever feel that ever again " she said.
" Well, you have to when we leave this hellhole " I said.
" Guys, where's Hayden? " Eddie asked.
We all look around and he's nowhere to be seen.
" Damn it, he booked it " Laurence said.
" But he's hurt " I said.
" At least he's slow, we got to find the fortress before he does, Lucinda said that the fortress could be the only place where he lives " Mariko said.
" Just remember, the time line here and the overworld is different " Eddie said.
" I'll go with Y/n " Mariko said.
" No, I'll go with her " Laurence said, I turn to my husband.
" I'll go with Mariko " I said.
" But- "
" It's okay " I peck his cheek and walk away.
" Eddie go with him " I gesture my head, he nodded and we parted ways.
Mariko and I head to northwest while the other head to northeast.
" You two have a great bond " Mariko said, I snicker.
" We just got married this year, if it weren't for his father who had one of the four rings, we wouldn't be here " I said.
" How did he know about it? " Mariko asked, I shrugged.
" I don't know, but it terrified my mother when I told her and she told us to get all four together again, I don't know what history my mother and Hayden has but it made my mother fear him " I said.
" That's strange " she said.
" I'm wondering it myself " I said.
" Anyways, what does the fortress look like? " She asked.
" It's huge like a castle, you know like a fortress " I said.
" Right " she said, I chuckled.
" I guess where you from you don't know a lot of things " I said.
" Our life is just about learning the traditions in our family and the histories, if we don't know any of it or a single knowledge, we are punished, our mother is very strict on those " she said and fold her sleeve up and show a scar on her forearm.
" Ouch " I said.
We both keep our eyes out at the area when we entered an area full of pigmens, Mariko unsheathe her katanas.
" No " I pull her arm down, I shake my head.
" They will not attack as long as we don't " I said, she nodded.
" Is there any other mobs I should be aware of? " She asked.
" Wither skeletons, they are the top priority, either they cut you with their sword, bite or scratched, you will be poisoned, I can't say I felt it but from what Lucinda's book says, it'll hurt like hell " I said.
" Definitely will be more cautious around them " she said.
" Blazes and ghastes can throw fireballs at you but you can block them with your swords if your fast enough " I said.
" I've been training with swords my whole life " she said.
" Hoglins are hostile, they will attack as for Endermens, do not look into their eyes or they will attack you, they also can teleport, they burn when water touches their skin " I said.
" Okay, from what I got from that "
" Uh-huh? " I asked.
" What do all of them look like? " she asked, I exhale on my own stupidity.
I take out a piece of folded paper inside my jacket.
" This should help " I said and she takes it, unfolding it to see the drawings I have sketched and labeled with their names.
" I don't like the look of the wither " she said.
" Trust me, if you meet one, I advise you to hold your breath " I said.
" I will try " she said.
We then hear a blood curdling scream, we look up at the sky and see a ghast.
" Ghast? " Mariko asked, I nodded rapidly.
" Yep " we both unsheathe our swords and it throws a fireball out of it's mouth.
It aimed at me and I hit it away with the blade of my sword, the fireball was thrown back at it but it levitate to the left and the fireball destroyed the cliff behind it.
" I don't have a bow an arrow " I said.
" Great " I did a spell in my mind and strike my sword down.
A light purple aura disperse from my sword and hit the ghast right in the middle of it's body. The ghast split in half and a blood curdling scream was heard from.
" There, but I don't think I can do another one of those " I said.
" There's more than one? " Mariko asked.
" It's the nether, the only place where they can spawn " I said and we continue our walk.
" How do they spawn? " She asked.
" I don't know " I said.
" Whoa! " I trip and Mariko caught me.
She holds my arms as she looks down at me with her red cheeks.
" Married " I said.
" Right " she pulls me up and I stand straight, she clears her throat and brush her sleeves as her red cheeks fade,
I look down at the ground to see a black brick, I pick it up.
" Nether brick " I turn to Mariko and looks at me in confusion.
" It's what the fortress is build out of " I said.
" Oh " she said.
" We're close " I said, she nodded awkwardly.
I lower my hand as I remember what just happened.
" You don't have to hide it " I said.
" It's fine, let's just find the fortress " she said.
I turn away and I step on the netherrack as I realize the rocks underneath us is shallow.
" Hold on " I drop the brick to the side and move the rocks under me and see more nether bricks.
" We're standing on top of it " Mariko said.
" Ha! " I laugh and blasted a hole.
We both jumped down and see we're in between two hallways.
" Should we split? " Mariko asked.
" The last time Laurence and I split, we both encountered someone touching our back so, I think to meet this guy we should split " I said.
" It's not a good idea but it seems like he likes people who are alone " she said, I nodded.
" See you back here? " I asked, she nodded.
We walk away from each other.
Gene's pov.
" Feeling better? " I asked as Lucinda holds the blanket around her body, she nodded.
" They've been in there for five days, do you think they found him? " She asked, I shrugged and throw another wood in the campfire.
" If your wound is in a good condition tomorrow, we'll get in and find them " I said.
She shivers.
" Still cold? " I asked, she nodded.
I take out a jar of soul sand and sprinkle it on the fire, it turned blue.
" Much better? " I asked as I close the jar with it's lid, she nodded.
" Isn't it strange that Courtney's ankle was sprained, Katelyn got sick that day and Garroth had to stay with her, while I got hurt and you have to take care of me? " She asked.
" How long have you been thinking this? " I asked.
" A while, it has been on my mind ever since Hayden said Y/n was the fifth ring " she said, I furrow my eyebrows.
" Could be just a coincidence " I said.
" I don't believe in coincidences " she said.
" You don't " I asked.
" As a witch, we were taught that magic users has a tendency to do things that are forbidden " she said.
" What's the difference between a witch and magic user? " I asked.
" Witches does a spell with something in return, for a magic user, dark magic is always their answer "
I was about to asked a question when we hear horses neighing in the background, I stood up and turn around to see two familiar horses.
" Kate, Garroth " Lucinda said.
They got off their horses and approached.
" Your better? " I asked, Katelyn nodded.
" Yeah, the sickness pass and we arrive " Kate said.
" The portal is open, how come you guys didn't go in? " Garroth asked.
" Lucinda got hurt by a phantom and I wanted her to heal first before we enter, the others entered five days ago, we don't know what their status right now " I said.
" Five days? " Katelyn asked.
" Hayden is with them " Lucinda said.
" The timeline in the netherworld and overworld is completely different, they have probably been in there for a few minutes by now, we should help them " Garroth said.
" You guys go ahead, we'll enter tomorrow if Lu is in a better condition "
