Emelia and Tom had watched the quidditch game in silence with occasional cheers from Emelia. Slytherin played horribly, probably because their best players were out and couldn't play. The tensions between Tom and Emelia were high during the game. When it had finished she'd try to take off, but Riddle caught her before she could go.
"Where are you rushing off to?" he asked.
"Nowhere." she snapped.
She'd been quite moody because the quidditch game was pointless. Emelia didn't really want to see Fred play, but it was nice seeing Ginny bench him for small misdemeanors every so often. In the end, Gryffindor had won by 60 points.
"Watch your fucking mouth." he growled as his hands tightened around her neck. He stopped and pulled his hand away after realizing what he'd done. There were red markings where he choked her.
"Control yourself. Goodbye, Tom." she said in a hushed voice and walked away to her dorm.
He stood there and stared at her as she walked back and put his hand on his temple. Tom's head was pounding. His actions were becoming less controlled. Ginny came up to Emelia in the hallway.
"You were great out there, Ginny." she said.
"Just a bit of light work. I can't wait for the party tonight. I gave it some thought and I might just wear the dress you recommended me to wear."
Emelia nodded and they walked back to their dorms. On the walk back Emelia had noticed Pucey walking around aimlessly, but he looked anxious. Marcus Flint came up out of nowhere and went towards Adrian. He saw Emelia and glared at her.
"Adrian, how'd the game go?" he asked.
"I was too late and didn't make it." Pucey replied. He looked quite agitated and disturbed.
Flint looked back at Emelia and his eyes were filled with rage.
"Let's go. I hate being near tramps." he said to Adrian.
Ginny looked at Flint and sent him a menacing look. They continued walking to their dorms. When they got inside Ginny stopped and faced Emelia.
"What happened between you and Marcus?" she asked.
"I dunno. He just doesn't like me, I guess."
Ginny shrugged and replied, "If you say so."
Emelia changed into her outfit while Ginny took a shower and changed in the bathroom. She was wearing the same shorts, but changed into a red full sleeve fitted crop top and put on her black Converse. She started putting on all her rings when Ginny came out of the shower.
"Do I look alright?" Ginny asked her.
"You look really beautiful." she replied while smiling.
Ginny blushed and hit her on the arm, playfully. They walked out into the common room where everyone was. Emelia saw Fred and Olive in the corner talking to each other. Ginny noticed her looking at them so she grabbed her arm and took her to the circle where everyone was sitting.
"Oi! Emelia's going to be joining you guys tonight so make room." Ginny barked.
"There's really no need," she tried saying, but everyone had already moved and made space for her. Hesitantly, she sat down.
"We'll be playing a game where it's truth or dare, but if you pick truth you have to take a shot of Veritaserum and reply. Makes it more interesting." said Oliver Wood.
Emelia understood. George came in the room and sat next to her. She got a bit spooked because him and Fred were twins.
"You came. I'm glad." he said softly to Emelia.
She didn't reply, but instead focused on her shoes.
"So we'll start the game soon, but if you don't feel comfortable playing say a safe word or something of that sort. Erm, we'll make it 'snitch' because that's what won us the game!", Oliver said.
Everyone grinned besides Emelia and were jittery. They couldn't wait for the things which would occur that night.
