A/N: It was before Christmas 2014 when I first watched BBC's Emma with Romola Garai (wonderful, by the way - watch it if you haven't). A few days later I went to see The Hobbit BOTFA on its opening night. It was during a car trip from a family Christmas party when I came up with idea for this story. And while it doesn't follow the Jane Austen classic completely (Thranduil is no Mr. Knightley!), it was certainly inspired by it. I enjoyed the challenge. She had no memories, no indications that told her who or what she was. With the outer appearances of an elf, but eyes that flash orange and strange symbols that appear on her skin - no one seems able to tell her anything about her past. She joined the quest of Thorin's dwarven company to have something to do, and she quickly became a part of their group. After a long and arduous journey but still a far away from the mountain they stumble into trouble. And whom is there to save her, but a certain Mirkwood prince with long blond hair and a pair of startling blue eyes. With one of them bursting with light, and the other filled with darkness their story will be anything but easy. The relationship between Thranduil and Tauriel after the Battle of the 5 Armies. How Tauriel is dealing with the aftermath of the battle as she goes back to Mirkwood and realizes that she has always wanted Thranduil's love and affection in her life. It turns out there has been more behind their turbulent relationship than they let themselves believe. The story follows their relationship from the days and weeks after the battle to many years later, during the events from LOTR and after. I absolutely loved their chemistry in the Hobbit and this is my first fanfic. I tried to keep the characters as close to the movie versions as I could (since Tauriel only appears in the movies and Thranduil's personality is only vaguely presented in the books). I am also including info about what happened to Thranduil's realm after the Hobbit from the LOTR book appendices...
