I don't recognize anybody. Not one single kid. Not one single teacher. Not even the front-desk lady. It's like every person I know in school has been scooped up and replaced by imposters. Eleven-year-old Sierra Malkens walks into school one day to find that her entire life is just a little bit different. Her friends, her teacher-everyone is different, but only sort of. Then a strange boy named Tom reveals to her that they're stuck-in another dimension. Sierra has somehow switched places with her twin from a different universe, and it's about to get very weird. Soon Sierra is thrown into a wild adventure across other worlds, full of strange and dangerous people, like the Weed Eaters, the Meat Eaters, and the Bug Crunchers. She will have to figure it all out and get home to her family, before she gets stuck in the wrong dimension ... forever. In this novel for middle readers, a girl trapped in another dimension must work with a boy who is also stuck so that they can find their way home.

A dystopian young adult novel involving romance, secret experiments on human subjects, and a group of teenagers' will to survive. Reader Comments: "I'm gonna gush about your book real quick...all the technology has a purpose and is beautifully explained so I can picture it in my mind...the whole concept of the book is completely original...*moment of silence for your beautiful arch of character development* everything your characters do is strictly them but they develop enough to show more about themselves without you straight up telling the reader about them" -Vairl9023 "Ahh!!! This is so good!! I will be anxiously awaiting the next Chapter!!" -CrystalBagot "Brilliant...ohh, this is very catchy, good work" -IndeeMaynard "I love this so far" -BrianneMorris "You've done a great job at creating a mysterious mood" -poisonedpen *** All Evita Creedy, 17, wants is to finish her degree and be accepted for a prestigious job with the city's Department of Energy. "They took my sister. Now I'm taking her back." Seventeen years ago, humans started developing supernatural abilities. Comic books came true as the first person flew, created fire, mind-read. The world entered a new age where people who could do special things were revered and admired. That all changed when one man lost control of his power and unleashed a huge explosion in a crowded shopping centre, killing over a thousand others. A series of fights involving superhumans broke out, resulting in the destruction of multiple cities and hundreds upon hundreds of further lives lost. The government began hunting down those extraordinary people with the assistance of a specialised unit: trained in recognising different abilities. Suddenly powers became something scary, uncontrollable and dangerous, that nobody wanted to own up to having. Seventeen years after the Explosion, Amelie Rose Carmichael is the daughter of the man who is in charge of hunting down and imprisoning these people. She enjoys a comfortable life, protected from any threats against her. But when Amelie develops an ability without warning, she must try to keep it hidden from her family, her friends, and above all her father. Can she keep a secret? Will she use her powers to help the rebel organisation that has approached her? And what secrets are the people around her hiding? *New Chapter Weekly* Beneath the jagged spires of the Ashen Peaks, where the bones of fallen gods are said to rest, lies Hearth's End-a village frozen in fear, its streets lined with whispered prayers that go unanswered. Ember is a ghost in her own life, walking among the villagers who cross themselves in her shadow, clutching iron charms to ward off the hum that pulses in her veins-a primordial force that bends light into blades and shatters the world with a single touch. When she saves a drowning child by turning the frozen millpond into molten glass, the fragile peace of the village crumbles. Cast out, Ember is sent to Obsidian Academy, a fortress carved into the mountainside, where she is told she will learn to control her power. But Obsidian is no sanctuary. Its labyrinthine halls are a forge, molding students into weapons for a war whispered in shadows. Here, fire-wielders and shadow-binders train under cold, calculating instructors who measure their worth in blood. And Ember's ability-to both create and consume energy-marks her as both a coveted prize and a dangerous threat. But the mountains hide darker secrets than Ember ever imagined. Whispers swirl through Obsidian's halls of an ancient hunger stirring in the void, of hollow-eyed figures who once sought power and now wear their corruption like crowns, draining life to ash with a single touch. And they are coming. For the academy. For her.
